What was happening, what were they running from? I looked around at all the prey. It must be something big to make them run right smack dab into a clearing full of grown cats. I really needed to talk to our jet-black leader, but I would wait until the meeting. I nodded at her orders. I would stay back and tidy up. After the meeting as the patrol was getting ready, I raced to Lavenderstar's side] "About earlier. I think you should know, Puresun, your daughter, is not in camp. And I do not know where she would be. I do think it's time to look though. So maybe, as you patrol, you guys could keep a look out for her. Justthoughtyoushouldknow" [I meowed before padding over to Rainpaw] xxx
[Rainpaw sat down and patiently waited as Starkcloud went away, he settled on looking at Songpaw, awaiting her answer. When all of a sudden, a mass of .... prey? The young tom looked around, confused, what were they doing here? Rainpaw followed Songpaw, he would be her follower in the prey catch, or so he thought, until Willowheart said there wasn't a point in doing that. So he waited until Starkcloud joined him again] "Can I help you Starkcloud? With cleaning up?" [The young tom grinned when she nodded] ۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩۩

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬ ▬▬▬ [At the mention of her clan, Phantom whisked around and lifted his lip in a ferocious snarl, similar to the one he gave her previously but not as angered. Rather, his eyes were filled with pure hatred, when she talked about her clan.]
"I will never call Nightclan a home. Ever! I no longer have a home there...this is my home now."
[He stayed silent and refused to elaborate on why he "no longer" had a home in Nightclan, such trivial and personal matters he would not tell another cat so easily.
As they reached the other side of the lake, a sudden rumble could be heard, as if the ground above was...shaking? His eyes widened in horror as he dashed towards the tunnel he used to come in, expecting Puresun to follow.]
"Come, before the tunnel collapses!"
[He hissed as he dashed up the winding tunnel, his muscles almost automatically taking him smoothly around the inclines and bends. After all, he had used this tunnel every day for seasons now, to enter and exit his lair. Once he reached the surface, he leapt out and landed gracefully on the ground, mismatched eyes scanning the hollow. It was...a stampede of prey! All the animals he usually preyed on, lizards and mice and all sorts of small critters, all charging in the direction of...]
"Nightclan."
[He said in a whisper, both eyes gazing forwards with a stony expression. He glanced back at Puresun for a split second before darting off after the stampede, as if expecting her to follow. Compared to her shorter and stubbier legs, his legs were longer and easier to navigate around the many holes of the hollow.]
"Come, Nightclan may be in trouble."
[He said as he stopped on top of a rock, waiting for Puresun to catch up.]

(I'm just going to auto that we made it back, is that ok?)
[Phantom slowed his pace and stopped the moment he could start to smell Nightclan cats. He would go no further, and he was absolutely sure that he would be ridiculed and chased out once again if he set one paw into camp. Turning to Puresun, his mismatched eyes gazed into her hazel ones, flooding with a multitude of emotions.]
"I have enjoyed your company immensely Puresun, it has been seasons since I have talked with another cat. However, I must not set paw into Nightclan...you may understand why if you ask your mother."
[His eyes narrowed for a heartbeat before he pushed his anger at Lavenderstar aside, lifting his head and gazing in the direction of Nightclan camp, but refusing to set a paw into the densite.] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬ ▬▬▬

Turning on my heel as she disappeared, I trotted the other way and slunk into the bushes, wriggling my haunches to fit underneath the small gap. Shaking out my pelt, I sniffed around and tried to concentrate on keeping my pawsteps silent and myself hidden. Catching Puresun's scent, I looked around and sank down, slowly slinking foward. The silence of the forest gave me plenty of time alone with my thoughts, which was a horrible experience. First, images of my mother's face would haunt me, taunting me with her beautiful eyes, her gentle look, then, my kithood would reemerge, leaving me with nothing but memories of solitude and plenty of the other kits whispering behind my back. Finally, my father's figure would loom in front of me, his hateful looks and sneers would ring in my ears.
'Stupid kit, I'm not your father. Get away.'
I had a feeling that would stay with me for the rest of my life. His dark eyes, dark fur, large stature. Before he spoke to me, he was everything I dreamed of being when I got older. He was my idol. Now, I hated everything about him. Spotting a pile of moss, I snarled loudly and ran forward, paws slamming down on the moss, ripping and tearing. I had never wanted to hurt something more than him. Sighing, I looked down and continued plodding on, not bothering to find Puresun's scent. It had gone stale anyways, dropping off suddenly. Dropping to the ground, I closed my eyes and fell asleep, too exhausted to carry on

to be loved. |Foxfur| NightClan+Deputy+Tom+Mentor+In Love+Tough&Independant You are my love, ____________________________________________________________________________________________ [Shifting to find a more comfortable position as he leaned against Mudnose, awaiting Lavenderstar's response, the one-eared deputy was surprised to find Guardianpaw waltz in and announce the condition of the nursery, as if he was the deputy. As the apprentice questioned him about Puresun's and Shadowpaw's location, Foxfur could feel his temper bubbling. The tom could see straight through his expression, and could tell what Guardianpaw was hinting at. He seemed to think Foxfur wasn't doing his job. Rising to his paws, massive frame heaving, the deputy shook out his fur and squared his shoulders. He was not about to let some apprentice tell him how to do his job. Foxfur had had enough of that when Shatteredfang was alive. He missed the she-cat, but StarClan knew he didn't miss her critiques.
Finally, Foxfur looked down at the apprentice, amber eyes bored. There was no way the deputy was going to let his temper flare. He was past those days, and he was better than that. Smirking slightly, as if the thought of Puresun and Shadowpaw being in danger was completely ridiculous, Foxfur parted his jaws to speak, reminding himself to not snap at the younger tom] "A stampede of prey just ran through here. We're not sure of why they came, but I have a feeling we'll find out soon enough. Lavenderstar, maybe we can leave Eaglesoar here and take Guardianpaw instead. Eaglesoar seems quite happy working on repairing the dens, and we need them repaired. Guardianpaw, I assure you, Puresun and Shadowpaw are nearby and unharmed. Maybe they wanted to do some night-hunting. Everyone knows we NightClan cats hunt best at night. It's when we feel most at ease. If they're not back soon, we will go look for them. There are many reasons they could be still out there, do not forget that" [Satisfied with the way he had handled the apprentice, Foxfur turned his attention back to Lavenderstar, bushy tail sweeping across the soft floor as he mentally prepared for what was going to come] _____________________________________________________________________________________________ You are my life. [While I was dozing peacefully in the shade of a tree, something began to rumble. My eyes flew open and the fur on the back of my neck suddenly bristled with alarm as a tiny, yet continuous pounding erupted on the grounds of Nightclan. With no time to look, no time to register much of what was going on, a swarm of prey stampeded straight past me and into camp.]
[Rearing up onto my back legs with fright and coming back down after my balance failed me, I landed atop of a skittering mouse, squishing it. I couldn't tell if that was good luck or bad luck, or whether it just meant I had squished a mouse, but really, at this moment it didn't matter, and I quickly, snatching the mouse on the way, trotted into camp. Feeling a little ashamed at my fear from the tiny stampede, I quickly felt better, seeing the fear and bewilderment dotting many of my clan mates.]
[Hugging the ground as I made my way through camp ( I wasn't exactly supposed to be laying around), I discretely dropped the mouse on the pile, and tried to make myself busy among the cats who were repairing the damaged dens.]

couldn't help a small smile from pulling at her lips as she helped Eaglesoar with weaving the brambles.]
"Oh shut up," she grumbled, swiveling her ears back and shoving a piece of bramble roughly in place. She then looked at him haughtily and said, "Didn't you know I'm the trend starter? Soon you'll be wearing one, too!"
She took one of her paws and tapped his forehead gently, continuing, "A tiny one, right there!"

and guardian of all things."_______________________________________________ (( I'm gonna have Guardianface be a thorn in everyone's side. xD Annoyingness ftw! At least it adds character. There always needs to be that one warrior who isn't noble and generic :U Woo...but he's a good friend to have in a fight and he only teases and taunts out of affection, never really hatred or jealousy xD Keep that in mind owo" ))
[Guardianpaw blinked at Foxfur calmly, nodding almost as in approval at the way the warrior handled his cheekiness. The tom had bumped up a level on his respected list, but the fact remained to be seen that Puresun had not returned home.
He knew better than the deputy that the she-cat would've told his sister and Shimmerkit that she was running out for a midnight hunt, or something. She never failed to bid them goodnight (which is why he appreciated her to some extent), ever.
But there was no need to explain that to Foxfur-he'd already questioned the deputy enough. He was only being watchful-not hurtful.]
"Of course," he murmured, dipping his head. "Now, I'll be glad to accompany the patrol. A stampede of prey is quite the spectacle."
[He spotted Pinepaw sneaking back into the campgrounds and narrowed his eyes, tail twitching.]
"Where have you been, Pinepaw?" he mewed loudly, tilting his head. "You look like you just woke up from a pretty little nap."
[He looked at the apprentice with disdain, but not hatred. Guardianpaw often bossed people around a bit, but he knew what his boundaries were and he never crossed them.
All he wanted to do was point out that Pinepaw had snuck back into camp guiltily. A guilt-ridden mind exposed the crime, and once Guardianpaw had looked for any signs of something warriors shouldn't do, he'd seen the drowsy look in the cat's green eyes.
He snorted and turned around, signaling to the apprentice something along the lines of 'it's your business but don't do it again' and stood, tail in the air.]
"Ready when you are," he told Foxfur calmly, tail twitching with suppressed excitement. "I hope we'll run into Puresun on the way. I need to tell her something."

Lavenderstar
[Lavenderstar nodded briskly, but paused as Guardianpaw padded into the den. She listened carefully, nodding slightly. Yes, she knew all about the nursery being in bad shape. The next set of news, however alarmed the she-cat. Puresun was missing? As well as her apprentice? The dark colored leader blinked, still keeping a calm facade on. She didn't wish to alarm her Clanmates. The truth was that the mother hadn't seen her daughter since the day before yesterday. Her pelt prickled for a moment before she cleared her throat.] "Then You, Guardianpaw, Ealgesoar, Mudnose, and I will be doing a patrol," she confirmed. "We can split up sometime during that, so we're able to cover more ground before Nightfall," she meowed, nodding as a signal for her clanmates to follow. She padded toward the entrance, but stopped, calling over to Tigerfang. "I trust you will keep the Clan safe while we're gone," she meowed, nodding to the dark colored tabby. With that, she padded out, stopping outside to wait for the rest to catch up. Her eyes flickered up to the sky. It was starting to get dark out. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears. They had to find Puresun and Shadowpaw before the sun went down.
Mudnose
[I smiled when I felt Foxfur lean against me, and stared down at my paws for the longest time. THis was amazing, like a dream. It was all perfect! Life was perfect! He loved me, and admitted it twice, at that! I purred for a moment, but a somewhat innocent voice caught my attention. My eyes narrowed slightly as I looked up. A gray cat was speaking to Foxfur in this somewhat mockingly innocent voice. I stared at his eyes for a moment, a growl rumbling in my throat. What was this idiot trying to imply?! My claws dug into the ground, and I almost snapped an angry reply at him, but seeing Lavenderstar get up, I sighed. Right. She was here, and she wouldn't want me fighting with an apprentice of all things. I stood up too, nudging Foxfur slightly. "How can Poisonpetal tolerate that?" she grumbled, her eyes mere slits. She padded after Lavenderstar, her tail swishing behind her.]

[I narrowed my eyes at him, startled but curious about his reaction. Before I could ask, the ground shook harder.
I nodded at the Phantom, following him swiftly through the tunnels. I hissed in shock as I saw what he had just seen- a stampede of prey. Of all things!
Even the lizards were fleeing...
I turned my head in the direction they came from, a worried look crossing my face. What in the world were they running from...?
I swiftly followed the Phantom, but a little nagging thought began to bother me: you've forgotten something. I muttered to myself, mind whirling with all the new information- and then it hit me.
Shadowpaw!
I skidded to a stop, but we had already reached NightClan. Or, we were near camp. I turned to him with a confused stare, but purred in return.]
"And I yours," I meowed in a kind voice. Narrowing my eyes as he mentioned my mother, I murmured, "I shall one day, but now is not the time. I'm sorry, but I must return to the swamplands to find my apprentice. He must've gotten lost."
[I paused, hesitating, then licked the Phantom on his cheek rubbing my tail across his pelt as I strode past.] "Be well, Phantom," I murmured with a hint of regret. "I hope we meet again."
[I immediately ran to the side of where we had come- not back the way we had come, but off towards a different direction. My nose hit the ground as I sniffed for my apprentice, and my feet carried me to where we had been-away from the Hollow, of course.
I picked up his stale scent and immediately picked up my pace, sniffing occasionally and following the scent trail until it grew fresh. And then I stumbled upon my apprentice, sloshing through the swamp with a worried look.]
"Shadowpaw!" I cried, rushing over to him and inspecting him worriedly. "I'm so sorry. I-I fell into the tunnels at Dead Cat's Hollow. I was chasing some prey and-well, the tunnel collapsed. It took me...this long to find my way back out, but I'm here!"
[My eyes flitted with guilt for lying-or at least, concealing more of the story-, but I quickly changed the subject.]
"Why didn't you return home? Did someone hurt you? Oh, I'm terribly sorry for this! Next time we'll just do normal training-no more hide and seek...though I must say you did good-you were following my scent, weren't you? Well, we've been out at least a day-that's probably why no search patrol has come yet. Let's return home and explain ourselves-I'll take full responsibility, you hear? It's going to be tough explaining why you never came home, but-don't worry about that, now.
"Ah, I'm sorry, but I have to do this-we musn't spare any more time. I'm not sure if you felt it, but there was a huge stampede of-if you can believe it- prey."
[I quickly bent down and picked my apprentice up by the scruff. We didn't have time to slosh back home- unfortunately, he'd slow us down. I set off, not listening to any complaints.
I ran as such, apprentice swinging from my mouth, when I spotted a group of cats traveling to our right. I skidded to a stop, making a loud splashing, and ran joyfully in their direction, hazel eyes wide with excitement.]

He didn't care if she'd thought he was rude-the hot-headed she-cat had been rude herself plenty of times when it came to Foxfur.
They were flaunting around and acting like fools. It had taken them long enough to accept each other as mates (if he was reading their body language right and they were now mates, that was), and now she was fiercer than ever with siding with him. But what if one day she was wrong?
He supposed it didn't matter. She loved him to oversee his flaws...
He felt a bit of jealousy p***k at him. How was that? Did he want someone to love him? At once, the image of the pretty-faced Shimmer popped into his head, and he almost tripped.
No need to think about that. It would just distract him.
He padded on, a bit flushed from the thought of Shimmer loving him, but immediately froze as he spotted a figure running straight for the patrol.
Instinctively, his claws unsheathed and his fur rose, preparing for battle, but then he recognized the calico she-cat at once.]
"Puresun!" he cried, running up to her.
[His previous proud and arrogant composure had vanished, replaced with a friendly and eager cat-what Shimmer called the "old Guardianpaw".]
"Guardianpaw!" she greeted with just as much friendliness (after she had put her apprentice back down). "It's good to see you! Is NightClan alright? You saw what-the stampede and-oh, I'm so sorry I wasn't home!"
Guardianpaw grinned and commented, "It's fine, the Clan is fine. What happened to you, Puresun? We were just starting to worry!"
[Puresun hesitated, her eyes lowering to her feet. Immediately Guardianpaw could detect she was hiding something. Her eyes flicked over to the rest of the patrol, showing her embarrassment, and then she sighed.]
"Well," she began, "Long story short, I fell into Dead Cat's Hollow. Shadepaw was practicing following a scent trail in the swamp, and-the ground collapsed beneath me...I...found my way out on my own. I'm sorry it took so long. Shadepaw-well, I'm not sure where he was-I just hope he's okay too."
[Guardianpaw glanced at Foxfur with an I-told-you-so glare before returning attention to Puresun.]
She glanced at the patrol, disappointment shining in her pretty eyes, and began cautiously, "I hope this patrol isn't for me...?."
"No, no," Guardianpaw immediately input. "We're checking the territory to see if our lands are safe."
"Well, there's nothing nearby Dead Cat's Hollow!" she joked hastily.
[Guardianpaw narrowed his eyes, noticing her insistence. She was hiding something, it seemed, but it wasn't obvious, per say. He just knew Puresun well enough to know when she was hiding something...]
"Nothing at all. No need to go there. Ah-it's a bit more unstable than before since I kinda...disturbed it, so, might not want to wander nearby it too much. Well, Shadepaw and I'd better get going back to camp..."
[She hesitated, looking at the patrol with guilt and uncertainty. She obviously wanted to return home to assess damage and help out as best she could, though it was obvious she was injured slightly...]

Lavenderstar
[Lavenderstar froze as a familiar calico shape dashed toward the patrol. She felt immediate relief, but anger slowly filled the leader's head. What was this care-free attitude? Had she any clue...? She cleared her throat, standing up straight. "Puresun. Do you know how worried I was about you?!" she spat angrily, her eyes glinting in the dimming light. "You have been missing forever! You dared to put yourself as well as your apprentice in such a careless situation? Three sunrises ago, we had bloody foxes swarming the territory!" Her eyes stared hard at her daughter for what seemed to be eternity. Lavenderstar cleared her throat. "Nonetheless, get back to camp. You can help mend the nursery with Tigerfang." She meowed. She blinked, sniffing the she-cat cautiously. She blinked in surprise. The scent....why was is ever so vaguely familiar? Nonetheless, she cleared her throat. "Did you meet someone there?" she demanded.
[ooc:] If you wish, I can take the last part out, or she can deny it or however you wish to deal with it. Thought it fit. :3
Poor lavendy-butt, you'll have to forgive her. It's in a mother's nature. >.> I think.

[I felt my fur p***k as my mother yelled at me in front of the others. I felt anger strike me, but I struggled to hold it back, eyes glaring sullenly.]
"I didn't wander far from him!" I retorted, eyes ablaze. "I knew where he was, but I couldn't help the fact that the ground collapsed beneath my paws! And since when did a day count as forever? If you were so worried about me you should've sent someone or something!"
[I glared at her hotly, feeling embarrassment rise as my pelt bristled.
Guardianpaw glanced at me but said nothing, respecting the situation silently.
My breath caught as she asked about my scent. I was going to tell her about it-but not now. Not here. Apparently Lavenderstar already knew about Phantom, but these cats didn't, and I was sure he'd want to keep it that way.]
"No," I lied flatly, eyes narrow, "But I do have some questions for you later. Shadowpaw'll have to tell you where he was later as I can't, but we'll be waiting for you back in camp."
[I pushed past the other cats, stomping towards camp angrily. Shadowpaw could walk home now-we were very close to camp. I knew he wouldn't be happy about me carrying him, so I decided it'd be best if he would walk from here.
I entered camp, snorting and stomping over to where Eaglesoar was with an unhappy sigh.
And then I froze.
My jaw practically dropped to the floor as I recognized my long-lost mentor.]
"TIGERFANG?" I squeaked with disbelief, absolutely shocked out of my fur. "Tigerfang!" I repeated as if saying it a second time made her more real.
[I rushed over to her side, bumping my head against her shoulder with enthusiasm.]
"Oh my GOSH where have you been?!" I chirped excitedly, eyes round with joy. "I was so worried about you! I-I thought you'd been-oh, I'm so happy you're here!"
[I purred, stepping back to get a good look at her, when I noticed the way Eaglesoar was looking at her. My eyeliids dropped to a smirking expression and I purred louder, knowing eyes flicking over them mischeviously.]
"Well well, what's this now?" I mewed cheekily. "Looks like Eaglesoar's happier than I am about your return! How now?"
[I shook my pelt, beaming up at them happily. Only Eaglesoar and my mentor could make my bad mood go away at the moment!]
"Let me help you guys," I murmured, stepping beside Eaglesoar to help fix the dens.

She had grown since she had last seen her...well obviously, Tigerfang had been gone for seasons...was she still an apprentice?]
"Purepaw!" Tigerfang exclaimed, blinking her green eyes in shock.
[Tigerfang all of the sudden felt the sadness and guilt she had felt before, the emotions flooding her like a newleaf melt. She had abandoned her apprentice as well. Her first apprentice, and she abandoned her. Her pelt burned with shame, and the embarrassment as she caught the comment about her and Eaglesoar.]
"E-Er..." was the only utterance to come forth from her slightly trembling mouth. "I-I'm sorry, I..."

[ Songpaw listened to her mentor, still confused. She would have never thought that they would run towards us. ]
" Why would they be running to us?!
Were much scarier than the thing that's scaring them away! " She mewed with enthusiasm.
[ Songpaw couldn't bear to imagine what sin must've drove the prey away. Instead, she acted like everything was okay. ]
" Nah, let's just clean up. I feel that home comes first, at least at the moment. "
[ Songpaw ran towards one of the dens. ]
I wonder what they we're running from..
Is ready for ANYTHING.
