{Tseng : Atlantis : Outside Throne Room -> ???}

Tseng continued firing, reloading once his magazines were depleted and then fired some more. Anything to try and get some damage on this guy. However, just like everyone else who was hitting him, most of it just seemed to be doing nothing more than annoying him further. That was things turned for the worse, which was apparently all too possible in this scenario. The replica then let out a terrible dark scream causing the Turk to once again freeze on the spot just as the shout had done, and then everything faded to black. There was a moment of what felt like weightless falling while the ominous voice continued to chant. When their vision returned they were standing on a blood red cross that seemed to make up their floor, beyond the cross though there appeared to be nothing.

At that final shout the entire place, wherever they were reverberated and suddenly their new foe emerged from the darkness. No longer was Ajora a man, or anything close to human. He was truly a monster, a massive behemoth of darkness, two claws on either side of them and the massive head were more than less all that was visible. Where the creatures mouth should have been was a sphere covered by tendrils of darkness, within the sphere was a humanoid form, pitch black aside from it's crimson eyes.

A barrier flashed briefly, protecting the head. There was no further time to view the monstrosity as one of it's hands swept the entire battlefield. The turk quickly ducked to avoid being knocked away. After he had risen back to his feet his focus turned to the paladin as he addressed him "guy with the suit and gun." He nodded his head and as they attacked the hand that was charging the spell he fired a few rounds at it as well. Whether it succeeded in stopping the spell or not he couldn't tell as a blast went of directed at the Archer. The spiral of dark energy wasn't near the Turk. Pretty much at the same time as the dark maelstrom went off the other hand unleashed a spell of it's own. The gunner couldn't see what was happening, only the small explosions that erupted upon impact with the ground or someone. The blasts didn't seem targeted at anyone in particular, seemingly hitting in a random pattern. They missed the leader of the Turks though and he continued to fire his light empowered bullets at the hand that was casting the dark maelstrom. At the same time he was doing his best to ignore the chilling chanting that emanated around the battlefield making his skin crawl.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out an ether, while he himself, or any of the Turks for that matter really used magic. He brought a few along since he had started going on missions with Daniel, just in case. His focus turned to the girl who had just introduced herself as Noelle.

"Noelle! Use this!" Tseng called as he tossed the ether to the girl after he made sure that he had gotten her attention.

[Anthony ~.~ Black Pearl ~.~ Galley]

Anthony was taken back by James' glare. He even leaned back slightly and tensed, readying his arms to raise in defense just in case the corsair took a swing for whatever reason. When James gave the young man a smirk, he sighed in relief.

"I haven't the slightest idea," said the knight in response. "Whatever it is, it must be one heck of a fight. It would be nice if we could go down there and help."

The brawler began to tap his fingers on the table's surface. "What should we do until they get back?"

[ Kyle ; Riku : Darkness ]

Kyle's golden sphere remained still in the air as all the chaos went on, listening, watching. Even as Joe dodged, Kyle merely let the hand phase through him, staring at the monstrosity that Ajora had become.

"Damn fractures! Stains! Your world is dead, destroyed!..."

"Now here you are! Earth's final living shards!..."

It knows...?

No one has even heard of Earth so far...

"Betrayer's heavy cost! We ripped, we tore!"

... and this thing claims responsibility?

Riku, still enhanced by Blink, had been able to duck low enough to avoid the hand sweep. He was just trying to figure out which spot to strike first when Joe shouted out orders--rather like a general, no less. He nodded, accepting the orders. When Joe and Daniel launched their attacks, he paused, watching to see the hand's reaction.

He didn't like it one bit.

Explosions began to detonate around the area--one was close enough to make Riku throw up a protective hand, but it did no damage. Still, they couldn't just dodge and expect to win. So, putting as much muscle as he could into the toss, he threw his Keyblade at the open-palmed hand that Joe had targeted, watching the Light Raid soar with deadly accuracy.

The explosions finally jarred Kyle from his thoughts, though he took no damage. Joe's orders came to mind, but everyone still had Enlight--at least for awhile--so Kyle decided to take a different approach. A more direct, anger-filled approach.

Flying over to the right side, or the hand that had thrown Bobbi's spell back at her, Kyle's orb suddenly spread out into a multi-layered glyph, much like his own Starlight Cannons in Atlantica. With an angry shout, a constant beam of light burst forth, targeting the hand's unarmored flesh, but avoiding the crystal. The beam seared away at the black flesh, causing the black veins to writhe and surge, but as the hand tried to move the crystal to absorb the beam, Kyle retargeted, doing constant Light damage while keeping it away from the monster's counter ability.

Taking Kyle's cue, Matthew started doing the same to the other hand, pulling from Kyle's magic but using their combined mana pool.

[Joe: ??????????]

He might have been knocked away, but that didn't do too much. The explosions near him, however, that did more to him than anything. But thankfully, he wasn't down for the count just yet. Instead, he broke off from fighting the one hand, instead choosing to get between both of them. Staring at the eldritch abomination, he simply said "Su Grah Dun!"

Wind wrapped around Joe, and his started spinning, the eyes on his armor glowing brighter before firing off lasers, aimed at the hands, arcing around if they went wide to blast into the wretched flesh of the creature, trying it's damnedest to avoid hitting the crystals in their palms. And because of the wind, he was able to blast a lot of those beams out of himself, spinning rapidly.

[ Daniel ~ Atlantis ~ ????????]

Darkness' sweeping claw re-positioned, batting the paladin off as an unintended side effect. Daniel pursued, but unfortunately he still had a bit of ground to cover. Just as the turk passed his own sword in the center of the battlefield the Shadowfall explosions started. He skidded to a halt, startled by the blast in the distance. Where was the magic that caused it? The another- Daniel whirled around, again nothing. All over the battlefield were explosions from invisible warheads.

Daniel gritted his teeth glancing back to the hand he was tasked with--

It was casting more magic.

And then his grounded sword exploded.

"F^$% !"

Daniel backpedaled away from the center of the field, his sword flipping end over end across the crimson dirt and falling off into the abyss. The ink was gone.

This is getting on my nerves.

Well that's clearly not going to work anymore, Dan. The darkness looks like its blowing up the entire field.

It's wasting our time to set up its own attacks-- Daniel took a more careful glance at the creature as a whole. It was nowhere near as fast as Ajora. Daniel also briefly recalled the barrier that appeared around it's face, though he wasn't sure why. Maybe the sphere holding what looked like Ajora's body? He needed a plan.

The orbs that the paladin summoned seemed to be fighting the claw as well, and doing considerable damage. But most interesting of all was how the orb stopped firing at one location the moment the crystal appeared. "Kyle" was avoiding the crystal, and the Darkness was doing it's best to use it against him.

Well that removes all doubt; Those crystals are bad news. Daniel cycled through all of the times Ajora used his hands to thwart magic. All major attempts at his life were halted by them. An idea formed.

Daniel wasted no time, putting away his baton and resummoning his blade lost in the darkness. He ran full force, leaping across the void and onto the gigantic palm of the demon. While the orb assault its skin Daniel stalked the jewel as it attempted to absorb "Kyle's" magic. He outpaced it, drew both swords, and plunged them into it's flesh in a "V". The blades spilled ink all over and sunk easily with the light enhanced effects, but his task wasn't done.

The Turk pulled, ripping and tearing the skin around the [sun cryst/nethicite? I forgot which D:] in an attempt to dislodge it. He used the ink to grasp it and keep it from reaching the orb's light attacks, knowing full well that the crystal would absorb his magic instead. Daniel poured his mana through the blades, spreading and writhing. When he felt he had done enough damage to the attached flesh he let go of their hilts, reached down with his bare hands, and yanked on the crystal as hard as he could.

If this doesn't kill me so help me god..

You are my favorite idiot~

[[If this is not possible or not allowed I will edit. Daniel is attempting to remove, destroy, or outright steal the crystal.]]

{Bobbi .:. ???????}

Bobbi caught the three elixirs and downed one as fast as she could, though she kept an eye on her assigned hand to make sure it didn't try anything fishy. She tucked the others into a pocket, and was back on her bow in seconds. She frowned when she saw that her Bolts were absorbed by the crystal imbedded in the creature's palm. When it turned her magic against her, she was surprised for a moment, but managed to dive aside, avoiding a direct hit but getting clipped just the same. She hissed, thankful that whatever ice element was in the attack wouldn't affect her. Still, the physical impact and the Darkness element in there: ouch!

Bobbi got to her feet with a wince, and began to take aim when a small explosion went off practically in her face. The Archer yelped and jumped back a pace, trying to summon a small Mirror Wall reflexively, but she couldn't access her mana to cast the spell.

"s**t!"

The explosion and her discovery of Silence distracted her enough that she temporarily lost the pace of the battle. She had to take a moment to check the field, see where everyone was and what they were doing. The various attacks by her friends were impressive, but she dismissed them systematically until she found her target again. She couldn't do anything fancy until Silence wore off, but by God she could shoot the damn thing! She had noticed the others avoiding hitting the crystals in the hands, and with the way they had absorbed her magic and shot it back at her, Bobbi was perfectly happy to go along with this implied plan. The Kyle-orb and the guy Bobbi didn't know were both attacking the same hand, so Bobbi tried her best to place her arrows so as not to get in their way at all.

[ Noelle ~ Atlantis ~???? ]

Noelle looked just in time to catch the Ether as her name was called. She pocketed it, shouting, "Thanks!"

The mayhem of battle continued to increase as the healer tried to keep tabs on her allies, Scanning their stats every now and then. It was getting more difficult to focus on them however, as small explosions began to tear through the battlefield. Noelle bit her lip, eyes flashing from one explosion to another as she tried to figure out where they were coming from. She could see no immediate cause--were they coming from the ground? The support group were sitting ducks if they couldn't figure out where the attacks were coming from or how to protect themselves. Steadying herself, the agromancer focused on the cross shaped battlefield, catching small specks of black shooting toward the earth preceding each explosion. It suddenly clicked.

"They're coming from above! Noelle told the girls in her presence urgently. "It's too dark to see them coming down, but try not to--"

Noelle's words cut off suddenly as a black star shot down behind her, clipping her right shoulder and detonating on impact. The blast tossed her small form forward and out of the slight crater she had made. She landed hard on the stone ground, her forehead knocking against it upon her rough fall. For a moment she was still, her mind trying to sort itself out enough for her to function. Her vision blurred and doubled as she looked up at the monster her comrades were fighting. How were they ever going to win this?
PostPosted: Mon Mar 25, 2013 9:21 pm

{Dani : Atlantis : ????????}

"Thanks," Dani said to Noelle as she drank the elixir. Finally, Dani felt her magic returning to her and the strain was not as bad as before. "I will put it to good use."

All while this was going on, the black stars started to fall around the battle area. Luckily, Dani was able to avoid the stars. "Alright, None of them hit me so-" Dani thought before there was an explosion near her. "Well that was close." Dani thought before realizing that Noelle was not in the crater anymore.

Dani immediately jumped out of it before realizing that Noelle was on the ground and that her shoulder was damaged. "Noelle!" Dani shouted running as fast as she could over to her. "Change of plans guys," Dani said through the charms, "Noelle got hit by one of those black star things. I am going to heal her and make sure she is okay. I am sorry." Dani gently flipped Noelle onto her back before summoning water into her hands.

"Noelle I know I am not the most ideal person at the moment but I will try my best." Dani spoke to Noelle as if she could hear her. Dani as quick as she could, started to apply the heal to her shoulder as well as her head. As she was doing this, Dani would take quick glances over at the monster as well as the fight going. "Please Noelle get up," Dani whispered as she continued her long process of healing Noelle as much as she could.

[Kyla: ???????]

“Greetings-“

Ah, that guy was back. She remembered him from before. Not much time left for pleasantries though. Though judging from the stains it was a decent assumption to think he was the source of the bloody substance.

Kyla was already prepping her next supportive magic while analyzing the shape and size fo the creature. When you’re as small as they were, getting at weak points was useful. A thought occurred to Kyla to create a few supports for the melee fighters to utilize and get better access to the rest of the creatures body. It was the same tactic she used in Narnia, simple yet practical Pictomancy.

Meanwhile Dawn suggested they try a drive, and blinking she caught the nasty glare from Noelle before returning to her work, but did not miss the moment to comment, “I’m not claiming to be an expert but bonds may be more flexible then one would think. Let’s not rule out a good plan C. I would only suggest that instead of focusing on how chummy you are with someone, focus on what you both want, more than anything else, and what you’re prepared to do for it. Amy I barely even spoke to each other before we did.“

Kyla wasn’t sure how good her shields would be up against that things immediate range but she had to at least try. What the problem was they had very little coverage, against something that had full range of the field. They had to scurry around and avoid its massive hands like rats trying to evade capture.

They needed cover, but also a boost in terrain range. She knew something she could at least try. But first- “Dani I have- ”
Just then the Palm attacked them and a spiral of black magic swept through- it was casting something but... Kyla didn’t feel it take effect. Odd. She could have sworn it felt very constricting all of a sudden.
When the dark explosions began pelting the field- Kyla flinched as it struck the agromancer and consequently shoved her back into the wall of their crater.! She was tossed out like a rag doll.

This was nuts they were too exposed! But if they jumped out they’d be sitting ducks. She had something in mind to help but she had to finish this one thing. Stummbling to her feet Kyla scrambled out of the crater and ripped the finished picture out of her book as she rushed to their side, trying to doge what explosions followed and put it down beside Dani for after she was done healing.

“ This- when you get the perfect opportunity, use this. But you’ll only get one chance This will take your mana and mine so I trust you’ll know when to use it!“

There on the page was an illustration of Dani’s original weapons but they looked much bigger, and the fin like resemblance of her summon had been incorporated into their design. If held- they’d flare out at the sides. Below the drawing was the instruction for its usage. A weapon like this would be good for taking out dozen of minion on the battle field for instant KO, or causing a wide spread medium attack- hopefully- to something as big as that.

“Alright- next!” Turning around Kyla faced the beast and stood up. She had most of her magic back, so this alteration to the field would be possible. Time to get creative. This spell would provide cover, and make it harder for the enemy to just smack the field and knock them into oblivion.

“...here we go.”

A 2 page spread in her big lit up and there was a rumble below their feet for less than a second before giant translucent petal walls began to sprout from the field. It was her lotus shield, but at its grand scale like in battle before. She imbued it with her minor Holy element. The flower opened and it’s ghostly outline sunk into the ground creating these shifting openings which allowed people on foot to run through them- but larger objects would have to break through if they wanted to get at them.

But Kyla wasn't done there, rising like pollen from the shields epicenter were floating platforms of similar shape. Just like back in Narnia these platforms allowed mellee fighters a chance to get the higher ground and access to weak points that could have been out of range.

The strength of the integrity of this shield and the platforms relied on her mana and stamina, but even if it only lasted a moment, this was the big one so Kyla was pulling out all the stops. Even if for a brief moment her allies could use the chance anyway they saw fit.
As the dark eruptions progressed they pelted the walls but whatever was on the adjacent side was protected. However in contrast if an explosion happened on the side you were on you had to run through an opening and seek shelter in another section and vice versa.

[ ??? : Darkness ]

[[ As a reminder, Enlight and Wall are no longer in effect as of the beginning of this post. Which means no one has any more enchantments or boosts on them. ]]

{ CUE FINAL PHASE BOSS THEME : FORZE DELL'OSCURITA --DUAL MIX-- }

The attacks began to strike en masse now. The massive hands tried to absorb the lasers from the two flying orbs (Kyle on one, Matthew on the other), but every time a hand moved, so did the laser targeting, searing a different spot of flesh. They'd gotten so preoccupied that the other attackers got through. Riku used a Light-embued Strike Raid combo, rapidly resummoning and throwing the blade at one hand, constantly searing and burning it; Joe dashed into the middle to unleash a barrage of multiple moving lasers; Bobbi shot a volley of Light-embued arrows into the side of a hand; and Daniel leapt onto the same palm, lodging his Light-empowered blades into the palm, trying desperately to pry the crystal from its home.

The unnatural chanting increased dramatically in volume, and two thirds of the bladed tendrils around the glowing sphere housing Ajora seemed to spread out, growing loose; as well, the Shadowfall explosions stopped, and without warning, the right hand pulled back into oblivion, unseen in the darkness.

Meanwhile, as Daniel tried to work away the crystal, he would find that the crystal, no matter how hard he pried, seemed rooted far, far deeper than flesh--but he only had a split second to realize that. Without warning, the flesh he had gashed, the flesh he was working against, surged, forming the all-too-familiar black veins. They acted like constricting tendrils, immediately wrapping around Daniel arms, legs, and body, covering every inch in Darkness before pulling him tightly against the palm, unable to move a muscle. They felt like searing irons, burning his skin, even through his clothing--it was particularly painful around the back of his head. The fingers then clasped tightly around him, squeezing him in a powerful vicegrip before pulling back--with him--into the abyss.

For a moment, there was nothing but the head, which remained shielded. But only a single moment.

In that time, Daniel would feel not simply his mana being drained away--but his life force, siphoned off into the monster.

Then, appearing at the last moment above them, the left hand slammed down, palm open, against the center of the platform, crushing a few of the shields and platforms--as well as Daniel himself, leaving him on the ground with his two blades at his side. As he struck, a shockwave erupted, spreading throughout the battlefield and knocking everyone off their feet--or platform.

In that brief moment, both hands soared off to the sides of the cross, one on either end of a pathway, palms and crystals facing the center. Behind them, if they had even looked, Ajora's Spear hovered in the air at the edge of the platform, tip facing the center.

As the heroes would begin to stand, all four paths began to crackle with malevolent, crimson energy. The crystals began glowing blood-red, the spear formed a red sphere of energy at its tip, and the bright crystal that formed the monster's mouth began to glow blood red as well. Something flickered in front of the head.

The shield fell--and hell was unleashed. With another eldritch shout, all four simultaneously unleashed a massive, unavoidable beam of energy toward the center. The energy blasts covered every inch of the platform, and once converged in the center, swirled for a second before exploding outward in a concussive blast of energy.

As the eruption cleared, the combatants likely reeling from the potent magic blast, they'd see the Darkness had taken a new position of sorts. The face was still present, though its eyes were burning brighter, a deeper crimson than before, with black swirling magics emanating from them. The hands remained at either end of the side pathways, fingers moving wildly, ready, hostile. The spear behind them was now spinning vertically, a constant hovering threat. More important, massive, bladed tendrils of Darkness had erupted from the sides of the platform at random locations, towering over them, fluxing, ever-ready to strike.

"So Fall! Sealed Fates, Damned Hearts, We Shall Consume!"

The hands once more began to charge spells.

The spear began instead to swirl horizontally before flying forward through the group, slashing at anyone down the middle.

The tendrils all began to swipe, slashing downward. They were visible, so one could dodge, but they were also fast--very fast--and the same tendril never struck twice.

The seven eyes then borrowed a trick from Joe--each eye unleashed a black-and-crimson sweeping laser, each going at a random direction, never focusing on a target, just sweeping along.

[[ If you're unsure, read this!

Attack Summary:

Vicegrip (Daniel) = 10 PS, Non-Fatal

Drain (Daniel) = Eh, 5-ish MS? Not serious, but noticeable.

Slam (Daniel) = 14 PS, Non-Fatal

Slam Shockwave (Everyone) = 12 MS

Unholy Cross (Everyone and Everything on the Field) = 20 MS, Non-Fatal! No matter how low, this attack will not knock you out. It might leave you with 1 HP, though. This attack hits everything, not just people.

Ajora's Swirling Spear (Anyone in the exact center line) = 4 PS, but only if you're directly in the middle of the lane--if you're off to the side, it will just fly by. It will fly toward the face and disappear before hitting it.

Tendril Slashes = 6 PS. Everyone: Roll 1-5
-----1 = Direct, Unprepared Hit from above
-----2-3 = You saw it coming! If your reflexes are 8 or higher, you can dodge. If they're 5-7, you can block (physically or with magic). If they're 1-4, you're hit.
-----4-5 = You're not targeted at all!

Eye Laser = 9 MS. You can see these coming and dodge--but there are seven of them! I won't make you roll again to make things simpler, but even if you dodge one, there's a chance you'll just jump into another. Considering everything that's going on, though, I won't mind if you all dodge them, honestly. Just some added boss flavor!

[ Kyle ; Mathy : Darkness ]

"Wha--?" Kyle muttered as the hand disappeared with Daniel in it. He looked over, seeing that Matthew was just as confused by his missing hand.

And then everything went to hell.

When the smoke cleared, the two spheres (unaffected by any of it) flustered about, swarming around to see who needed help.

"I can Cura, I can Cura--" he started, though it was only to Kyle and Joe.

"Wait!" responded, flying over to Mathy's blue sphere after firing a Faith spell at Joe, boosting the magic of all three. "Noelle's got some high-grade magic, and we're running low on mana anyway! New plan!"

The two spheres suddenly joined together, becoming a swirling blue-and-gold sphere above everyone as the two began to combine magic. "Right, Dave! Got something!"

"Dave?"

There was a sudden, white pulse of magic that rapidly spread throughout the battlefield. Everyone would suddenly feel imbued with magic enchantments galore, at a fairly heavy cost to their mana. They resplit, kind of dully hovering around.

"Wooooozy," Kyle muttered, trying to stare at the boss.

"New plan, he says," Matthew mutters, spinning around a little. "Let's do this, he says."

[[ EVERYONE IS NOW ENCHANTED WITH:

[Joe: ?????]

Joe gritted his teeth. Too much was happening at once, it was starting to fray his mind a little. Mainly because, while spinning, he was watching, also trying to watch everything through Kyle and Mathy orbs. So...he saw most of what was coming. There was just nothing he could do to stop it.

The tendrils? Oh yeah, that he could dodge. But everything else seemed made to destroy him, and he took the hits hard. Harder than normal, he caused, as the darkness seemed intent on smothering his light as if he were an ember in a firepit.

But he was still standing. Not very straight, kind leaning forward and slumped a bit, but he was standing. That was a plus. He just had to pull back. Get to a slightly safer area.

Retreating a bit, Joe shouted out "Big support time, ladies. We need to recover fast from that, and everyone else? Strike hard! Strike fast!" He didn't want to add that he was so weak. Or that if the darkness kept it up, they'd be wiped out. "We can do this!"

Joe slammed his weapon into the ground in front of him, and started glowing. He was charging up his magic, planning on finishing what little time left he had in the drive to do as much damage as possible. "Someone cover me!" He just needed to charge up a bit more.

((Current Buffs: Wall, Enlightga, Blink, Faith, Haste(SOS-Haste passive), Charging(+2 MS, +1 for haste charging, +2 for faith, totaling +5 on next magic attack)))

[Dawn : Atlantis : ????]

Dawn's mind suddenly rushed into a panic as things soon started happening once more. She had jumped over to Noelle, who was struck down the black star. Dani beat her to the side of the smaller girl. Dawn turned to face the enemy, trying to figure out what dance she could do to help everyone.

Than more started happen. A massive shock wave knocked the breath out of Dawn, This was soon followed by a beam of energy struck her. Only moments later, before she could muster any kind of recovery, one of the tendrils came from above the dancer, striking her from above. The dancer was knocked to the ground. Her body unmoving, but still awake.

[ Daniel ~ Atlantis ~ ????????]

Pulling with all of his might, Daniel grunted at the exertion. He threw his weight awkwardly, attempting to yank from a different angle. The crystal wouldn't budge. It was about this time that his ink was seeping into crevices in the torn flesh, seeking the underside—

There was no underside. Daniel’s eyes widened in horror; His gamble had failed.

Cue: << Hurt - 2Cellos >>

In an attempt to recover some sort of equal footing with the monster Daniel stood and tried to jump. The claw was having none of that, summoning black veins and tendrils similar to his own ink, but oh so much quicker. Daniel’s heart and mind raced. He turned, facing the paladin, mouth agape eyes wide to scream for help—the tendrils covered his face and muffled his cries, yanking him backward flat onto the palm.

Darkness.

Daniel, NO!!

He grasped mentally for his inkconsumed. The crystal made short work of his back-up. The giant fingers closed around him, squeezing and suffocating.

DAAN—Dan, c’mon bro DO SOMETHING

He couldn’t even squirm, his breath stifled. The Turk panicked, claustrophobia emerging with vengeance that removed any training he had ever received.

Daniel’s heart trembled, Zodiark—HELP ME, PLEASE!!

Then burning, searing pain—his body was on fire. Daniel wasn't sure if he had already made it to hell or this was yet another merciless assault from the Demon, the lines between the two blurring. He screamed, once again falling on deaf ears. If he could move the Turk’s whole body was arching, contorting, shaking.

I don’t—I CAN’T—DAN, HOLD ON – PLEASE!!! Zodiark desperately shouted, looking for something he could do. Everything happened so fast, and Daniel’s mind trembled so violently that the scion was simply doing everything he could to hold the Turk together. When the claw pulled Daniel into the abyss Zodiark started losing ground, and to the Scion’s horror several razor thin cracks snaked through inner recesses of Daniel’s heart and mind. His mana and life force slowly drained, his cries echoed.

When the Claw reappeared above the battlefield Daniel was barely conscious, holding on by a shred. Palm downward, Daniel struck each of Kyla’s barriers and platforms face first and wide open. Each one was obliterated with ease, though the light and holy elemental barriers served to weaken the black veins that held him and covered his face. Unfortunately he was in no position to escape. Instead he could now clearly see the ground rushing up at him. Daniel briefly wonder if this was what jumpers saw before they hit the ground—

Disconnect. Static. The sheer force knocked the wind out of him, the collision rattling his brain. Reality only reached him in waves;

----uck’s sake, Dan c’mo-------ET UP! MOOVE!------

Daniel rolled onto his stomach. He couldn’t feel his body.

UP UP UP, please!! DAN, ON YOUR FE----

The Turk tried and failed to lift his head. Between the blurring patches in his vision he managed to find his hands, placing them flat on the ground. Flex. The crimson soil seemed to back away, but vertigo insisted otherwise. Suddenly the contents of his body stirred and he vomited, ejecting blood and what little was in his stomach. Daniel closed his eyes, trying to focus on breathing. The oxygen reaching his blood helped to bring back his consciousness, but unfortunately the more aware he was the more he understood pain.

And then the chanting seemed to tear into his awareness, growing so loud it nearly blotted out Zodiark’s insisting cries to stand, to flee. When he finally managed the strength to look up he saw the orbs of chaotic red energy gathering behind the group.

…I’m sorry. Zodiark… I’m sorry…

Before the attack even hit him the Turk slumped over and fell into unconsciousness, his mind retreating into his own heart.

[ Noelle ~ Atlantis ~???? ]

Noelle felt herself being turned over, her head swimming at the movement. Her thoughts grew clearer as Dani healed her and she was able to sit up and thank her. The agromancer's focus turned back to the incarnation of Darkness just in time to see it slam its palm into the center of the cross-shaped platform. She tumbled back from her sitting position as the shock wave hit her, coming to a stop a small distance away from where she had been sitting. She tried to recover quickly, getting to her hands and knees despite how her body complained. Noelle quickly looked around the check on everyone's status. That's when she saw Daniel. Her stomach dropped as she tried to push herself to her feet. They didn't know each other, but they were fighting the same battle, and if he was lost she would hurt all the same. After losing Rae Noelle promised to herself to keep any and all allies from falling, and her newfound healing abilities strengthened that resolve. If she were to let them down she could never forgive herself.

The blonde couldn't get her feet to move any faster. Before she could even start to sprint, though, another attack came. Noelle hadn't been paying any attention, so the beams of energy and following blast caught her off guard. Everything was a mess of muffled sounds and pain as the small girl was thrown yet again to the stone ground. Her vision hadn't even settled when she was struck yet again, this time with one of the dark tendrils swaying above them. The girl whimpered, her vision blurring as her eyes tried to focus. Her ears rang from the monster's shouts and trauma her body sustained, making her wonder if the shouts she heard were from the others. They weren't.

'--get UP! Human, on your feet, MOVE! Noelle, can you hear me?! I said GET UP!'
'Titan . . . ?'

Noelle could feel her body twitch suddenly, willing her to move. Titan was right, she had a job to do. With a pained groan she unsteadily got to her feet, vision still blurring as she looked around. There was no way she could heal everyone. But she felt as if she could. It was as if her heart knew she was capable of more. She had the strength, but not the means. Noelle couldn't cast on that wide of a radius, the only person who could was . . .

"Dawn!" Noelle shouted, looking around and letting her eyes settle on where she lay as she limped to her, "Dawn, get up, get up!"

As soon as Noelle was close enough to the dancer she fell to her knees with a grunt. The healer grabbed her shirt and pulled up on it as she cast Cura on the girl, hoping to get her to her feet. Meanwhile, her other hand was pressed firmly to the red stone over which a deep green moss was spreading. The moss created a circle beneath them large enough for Dawn to dance within.

"I don't know if this is going to work," she panted, body trembling from pain and exertion, "But we have to try. Don't stop dancing, keep within this circle so I can channel my magic through you, this is the only way I can cast Curaga and Raise on everyone at once. Go!"
