Gareth had spent the time in the air tweaking himself so that the demonic energies would be of no use. As the bullets came at him he raised a hand and the demonic energy of the bullets was sucked into a tight ball, the bullets themselves bouncing harmlessly off his steel toed boots.

"I am Project Leviathan, you may call me Gareth Exezign. Cease your fire or I will return it to you."

Chronic cocked a brow as his shots were interepted. He hadn't seen anything like this in a long time. Not since he fought with Alastor.

"Why did you stop in the first place? Like I said...I wasn't done. I've already figured out a way to stop this venom of yours...though I'd hate to do it. Now if you don't mind, keep your attacks coming. I'd rather not fight an opponent who won't fight back."

His vision once again blurred, and time stopped, only for a moment before going back to normal. Something seemed to have happened, but what it was would not be identifiable just yet.

Gareth used the demonic energy channeled so far to blanket himself, providing protection against any incoming attacks. Letting his arm drop to each side he picked up the two blades and snapped them in half, scattering the pieces along the ground.

"I have already explained, you have been deemed fit to live. You will fight me in future, but you cannot with this fight in your current condition, and I require time to assimilate fully what I have adapted from you, we will meet in combat again, but when we are both back to full... submit to the neurotoxin, it isn't strong enough at this point to kill you, I will not kill you as you slumber, I will keep you save, there is much to learn from you"

Chronic smirked and leaned against a tree. He'd figured out just how to defeat this neurotoxin of his, at the cost of a fraction of his mind, but he'd much rather fight Gareth when the two of them were at full power. His vision continued blurring for a few minutes.

As soon as I'm awake...it's over. I'll hunt you down if I must.

And with that, he fell to the ground, succumbing to the neurotoxin. If Gareth observant, however. He would notice that his shadow was rather far away from him, and it slinked back over to him as he hit the ground with a thud and re-connected.

Gareth had, in fact, noted the shadow. He didn't know its purpose for leaving its owner, but this one was dangerous enough to give him reason for pause. He approached carefully, keeping his daggers pulsing as to ward off his shadow, if was in any way connected to him it would be neutralized by the pulse.

He stopped, thought for a second, then tweaked the pulse on one of the two daggers to affect Y-Class Xenos creatures... better safe than sorry.

He reached his collapsed foe and flipped him onto his back. A number of things happened then. First he stripped him of his pistols... they were no threat to him, they were just really nice and he wanted them. He then pulled out a throwing knife and made a small incision in the lower abdomen. Nothing lethal but enough to make him bleed. He bent over and sucked on the injury, taking in much of his essence, and grabbing both his X and Y Class Xenos signatures.

After taking what he needed, he bandaged the would, and carried the body to a nearby pond, and dumped him in. He would be wet, but for the moment he would be safe, looking as if he had simply drowned. He then sat down, stripped to his kin, and started to bandage himself up, making a special note to, during his resting period, evolve some form of regenerative reflex, and to upgrade his venom.

He re-clothed himself, grabbed his things, and left the forest.

*Something strange suddenly seems to happen to the woods. The wind which was blowing seems to have stopped for a moment and the clouds above kind of swirl in a weird fashion. Suddenly an strange noise is heard That noise resembles an high pitched whistle and suddenly as the noise stops and bright blinding light appears. Inside otaku tries to gain control of his vehicle as he plummets towards the forest.* Oh no!!! the controls are shot!! I knew this was a bad idea!!! *He types in an code into the onboard computer but there is no response and the gyro seems to be moving at an rapid rate in strange patterns and otaku checks his mapping quickly trying to pinpoint an safe location.* well since I'm going to crash I might as well brace myself... I'm sorry marlene... I failed to find her for you... *the bright light vanishes and a strange craft plummets into the trees at an angle knocking branches and leaves all over the place and leaving at times a trail of flames within the fallen derbis. The Craft soon crashes and then skids into an open field. Otaku kind of rubs his head as the hatch opens and he kind of falls out and looks into the sky.* The Sky is so beautiful... there is no signs of cursed Sulpher in this land. I must have fell somewhere. *otaku goes over to his craft and he sighs* oh man... look at it it's trashed... well I might as well put it away in this capsule I have for such emergencies... after all this may be an primative world. *he pulls out an strange looking capsule and a blue light shoots forth from it and the machine vanishes and there are pieces of it still in the vincity.* I better get the hell out of her before someone tries to kill me... *He jumps into some nearby trees and activates an cloaking device and watches for people to arrive*

Gareth strode confidently through the forest, flickering in and out of the light between the trees. He was in one of the areas with heavier growth, not even a deer trail here. He watched the magic flow around him, around the guns, and around the rest of the world, there was quite a lot of the third one, he was getting close to the node. He kept moving, careful not to disturb the underbrush lest he disturb the ley lines that fed the node.

He spotted it in the distance and sprinted along the trees, setting down lightly on a small alter like rock at the center of the node. He could see the magic all around him... it was time to start working. He opened up his bag and started removing all of the surgical equipment inside.

Awakening face down in a pond wasn't exactly pleasant for Chronic. He dragged himself out and pulled himself to his feet. The first thing that he noticed, aside from the fact that he was wet, was that his handguns were missing. Angered, he stomped toward his broken swords and picked up the pieces, putting them inside his coat. Immediately, he attempted to sense Gareth's presence. After getting a signal, he sprinted in that direction. He was going to get his guns back if it was the last thing he did.

After a few minutes of running, he finally found Gareth, and immediately slowed time to a halt. Everyone who saw would simply see Chronic moving at an extreme speed, barely visible. Gareth likely wouldn't notice anything. His shadow slinked away from him and around the trees to get behind Gareth. It emitted no signs of life or power. Chronic jumped into a tree and began to jump from branch to branch until he got close enough, and did a front flip, landing in front of Gareth with a loud thud from his greaves. Once there, he would release his hold on time. Only after he released his hold would the leaves from the branches he jumped on fall.

Gareth worked quietly, first preparing a place for his new additions by removing the skin on the top of his right hand with the scalpel. He almost had the part of him ready when Chronic dropped. This scared the ******** out of him, and simultaneously a few things happened. First he gave himself a very large hit of adrenaline, then he sucked up as much of the ambient demonic energy as he could and blasted it in front of him in a 20 foot spread while jabbing forward at Chronic's leg with his claws, a double dose of Neurotoxin waiting for him.

Something strange happened with Chronic. Oddly enough, he saw the attacks coming before they actually had launched, and he acted beforehand as well. He quickly charged a small amount of energy in his right gauntlet and smashed at the ground, with it, launching a large light barrier in front of him for only a moment, and it absorbed the demonic energy directly in front of him, leaving the blast only going to either side of him. As for the Neurotoxin, he decided he didn't want to encounter this again. This is where he shadow came into play.

His shadow quickly gained corporeal form, resembling Chronic's form 100%, only completely black. It then used an old trick of Chronic's, and he slowed time. This would affect both Gareth and Chronic, but his shadow would remain impervious to it. After this was accomplished, he quickly pulled out his high powered rifle and took aim. He then fired several high penetration shots at Gareth's hand and released his hold shortly after.

Gareth had predicted this eventuality, his legs already moving to spring him forward into Chronic's chest, his hands both coming up, dripping with Neuro Toxin, accompanied by his fangs, which were also ready to inject a double load of neuro toxin into Chronic's body. If the Tarrasque it's self were to pop up and take all this Toxin, it wouldn't last the week before finally turning into a puddle of Goop.

Otaku notices some guy jump towards him while he sits in a tree and he jumps out of the way and the juice runs out of the cloaking device he was using. "Damn... what a time for this to run out on me." He quickly runs out of the way and he watches the two men fight and he smiles as he mumbles to himself. "damn... that was close... but they can really fight." Otaku's blood boils and he kind of smiles "your itching to fight too huh scarlet? this is not the time..." He silently studies the two men fighting but soon he decides it's best to leave the area before they target him. He kind of limps from the impact of the crash. He wanders aimlessly getting deeper into the woods. He comes in contact with a few ruins on th way and he can feel a great deal of energy in the area and he follows the instincts he has and he eventually makes it out of the woods.

Chronic Toxicosis

Chronic quickly used his clawed light gauntlets to deflect Gareth's hands, once again seeing the attack before it happened. He was rather astonished at this new ability, completely oblivious as to how he got it. Directly after, he would attempt to kick Gareth in the gut with his left greave.

"Learn some new tricks.....this is getting old fast"

The shadow would once again take aim and fire, not slowing time this time. The shots would be aimed at several points of Gareth's body. One at the neck, one at each elbow, and one at the back of each knee.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 08, 2007 7:11 pm

Gareth kept moving forward, kit the ground on his left hand, and twisted in mid air, spinning around before the bullets as they flew at him. He wanted to see new tricks, he would get new tricks. Gareth stuck his hand out in the general direction of Chronic and started to rip the energy out of him, both Demonic and Angelic energies filling his body until it glowed an off green colour.

Chronic immediately felt the effects of Gareth's strange new attack. This was one he had definitely not seen before and had no knowledge of him knowing such an attack. All of a sudden Chronic felt extremely tired, and weak...and it wasn't a feeling that he liked at all. He managed to stumble towards Gareth before falling to one knee.

"Damn..."Chronic paused and smirked.

Chronic's shadow saw the immediate danger he was in and acted quickly. He slowed down the forces of time, leaving out only itself and Chronic and reducing Gareth to an almost complete stop. The shadow then put away the Spiral sniper rifle and made his way at rapid speed towards Chronic. He nodded at Chronic who remained down, bracing himself. jumped on his shoulders, and vaulted off, remaining suspended in mid-air in the path of the energy absorption. It soon after dissolved, and fell back to the ground, where it slinked back to Chronic. Immediately after his doppelganger intercepted the attack, Chronic rolled out of the way and jumped high up to where Gareth was, remaining suspended in the air. He then launched a flurry of punches and kicks at Gareth, each one would burst with a flash of light on contact.
