My answer would be " What kind of Detail would keep you hooked?" You love adventure novels for example, and get a chance to purchase a war novel. You'll like it despite the lack of scenery. You love cheesy romance novels because of the tedious and much abused sexual tension, I doubt you'll be putting it down;
I'm in the middle with both I'm afraid. Love scenic descriptions, but I'm glancing through it if there's 4 pages worth. Willing to read romance novels, but I shouldn't be forced to skip to every tenth page for actual plot.

That's how it was with Flowers in The Attic; The girl has sex with her brother and when I read it they ******** for the first time on pages 355 'till 356... stare It pissed me off how long I had to wait and for what?...It wasn't that good. Haha. But I was intrigued when I found out there was a second part to that book and I bought it to see if they had sex again; they didn't. But she did have sex with another man and I was like, "Wow, come, huh?" xD And now I'm on to number three...but I'm not spoiling anymore. biggrin

I saw the movie, but haven't read the books. Clearly the story wasn't all the interesting for me.

I read the spoilers for the rest of the books on Wikipedia and I doubt I'll finish reading the series sweatdrop I read the entire Twilight series though. I... tolerated it. The last book is the most interesting and BY FAR the most amusing lol

V.C. Andrews has far better books than the Flowers In The Attic series. Though the movie for the first book is completely horrible, compared to the book, which was indeed rather odd.
Though if you're in to reading the Flowers In The Attic and Twilight sort of books, try the 'House of Night' series by P.C. Cast. it may prove to be more tolerable, or it could just be completely hated.

EejitFeckles I watched The Fellowship of The Ring before the meet tonight; actually, it was more like background noise. Somehow, that movie isn't as interesting as The Two Towers and Return of the King. :S I refuse to read Harry Potter! scream My philosophy is; "If there's a movie, why read the book?" And your answer will be; "The book goes in deeper detail." And I'll respond with; "Sometimes too much detail gets boring. gonk " And I don't know what you'll say, then. sweatdrop Then we'll shun you and not join your book club wink Adaptations aren't necessarily the original stories in film format. Like Alice in Wonderland, for example.

That's what everyone is saying, but keep in mind it is sunday..
I'm sure they have people there just to make sure things run smoothly, but may not be allowed to do things like that, or just don't know how.
