Mat well I enjoyed a nice win in a 2 way game earlier. Myself and Necrons V.S. Dark Angels and Eldar. The Dark Angels guy just had really shoddy tactics. He assaulted my full strength Skyclaws pack with battle leader with Sammael only to have the battle leader crush his face with his power fist. Then later I killed the Master of the Deathwing with 2 Krak Missiles. In the end our whole team gave up about as many points as one player on their team. Yeah, Sammael isn´t a ccw-master on it´s own so charging a unit with no backup is pretty much the same as giving you VP´s for free.
Belial sucks, so no suprise there, I had him killed once by a squad of Firewarriors and died on a lucky melta-shot. He´s pretty much a CM with master-crafted sword on terminator armour. Seriously, he needs the Ada-mantle more then Sammael. mad

Well, characters nowadays suck compared to squads anyway, unless you have eternal warrior or are monstrous creature power fists are your doom. For the price of most characters you can have 3-4 assault termies with 6-8 attacks of s8 (and 3-4 more on charge!), and 2+/3+ save built in...

That depends on the character and the edition of the codex ain´t it? confused
Best ones so far are Galgar, Grimnar, Abaddon and if the BA rules are true, Mephisto.
really bad ones are Azrael and Ezekiel at the moment. sweatdrop

Calgar and Abbadon DO have eternal warrior... Not sure about Logan (btw Gaia Logan looks a bit like SW chapter master, dont you think razz ) Mephiston is rumored to have this too...

That is why, when faced against Eternal Warrior's, you take a Shadowsword.
Shadowsword= Answer to most things. Three Shadowswords= Answer to Everything.

Lady Blodwynn Why fight a hardy melee character in close combat when you can blow it away from a distance? wink cause you will have to choose between shooting my land raider, Pred, or Vindi. Most people choose Vindi then wonder why Logan and 7 Wolf Guard just eat their face

Mat, it's one thing to shoot something trying to rip off your face (metaphorically speaking), it's another to try that when he's in a TANK.

That and they are rarely alone. I always aim to put them with a squad to keep them save from most enemy shooting. ninja
If I recall right, Logan also has the Eternal Warrior rule, kick-455 axe and nearby-unit-"buff". surprised Matt can probably clarify this betterly.
Luckily my army is plasma-themed, I can easily leave anti-tank role to "rocket" and lascannon devs while having tacs with plasma cannons shoot all nasty pointy-chainsword-choppa-whip-ripping-things. :p
Azrael is just........ meh. Has a ok-stats and the only 2 good things are the 3+inv on him and the unit he is in and S6 attacks. Compared on other characters, even from the 4th ed SM codex, that´s pretty lame for a man who is a Chapter Master......... sweatdrop I mean come on, even a now-a-day chaos lord can eat him for breakfest. mad

Either the Dark Angels or Black Templars are getting a revised codex this year to help deal with their issues. From what I keep hearing it will be the Templars first, with the Dark Angels next year.

Black Templars are up first, they have the oldest "new" marine codex to date as of now. This is also mainly to revise some items, such as the horrible vehicle upgrade sprue and bring in even more plastics.

If I recall right, Logan also has the Eternal Warrior rule, kick-455 axe and nearby-unit-"buff". surprised Matt can probably clarify this betterly. mad Can give, Preferred enemy, Tank hunters, fearless, or relentless to any unit he joins choosing 1 at the beginning of each turn can give all friends within 18" an extra attack for a player turn Yes he does have eternal warrior though I did forget how that and force weapons work a few nights back all in all he is pretty beast I like to use him a lot.

wow, really good set of abilities... it would be fun to see him going with long fangs simply giving them relentless or tank hunters - yes it is waste of hth potential but fun! and dont get me started on him leading big blood claws pack and combining extra attack with preferred enemy - 75 re-rollable attacks if I am not mistaken, not counting his own??
