Why is it that when I point out the truth or whenever I question something that doesn't make sense to me, my mom calls it "cynicism?"

LightsideDarksider Why is it that when I point out the truth or whenever I question something that doesn't make sense to me, my mom calls it "cynicism?" Do you make someone unhappy or a situation stop being fun whenever you point out the truth? That's cynicism, when you are blunt about everything, and it brings everyone down. :U People like being optimistic, but there is a difference between being optimistic and being naive, just as there's a difference in being a jerk and being cynical.
A jerk would do it to feel better, but someone who is cynical is more, 'but this is how life is, how come you don't see it?' and is more or less, just realistic. p: I don't think I'm making any sense, and I hope you don't think I'm calling you a jerk, cause I don't think you are one.

Fffuuu. I kinda now wish I didn't get The Sacrifice. I finished it in like, half an hour. ._. I wanted the Mothership Zeta Add-on too, but I could have had both if I didn't get things for Rock Band. >c<

The Sacrifice kinda sucked. I liked it on l4d2 though cause it added No Mercy to it aswell.

So it's subjective when I come across a board that says Thanksgiving is about the friendly union between native americans and pilgrims and I point out that we eventually ended up wiping out practically all of them and stole their land?

No, it's irrelevant. Whether or not we wiped them out, the intent is to celebrate the harmony (as half-assed as it is). Pointing out the obvious just makes you come off like a d**k.

I don't know, I just doesn't feel totally right celebrating a 'half-assed' harmony that we went and contradicted later. But that's just me.
