a- like with any other hit you expect to land, timing would be key, right? i don't expect you to sit there with a glass of tea and watch me windup, but if i parry you and get you looking to the side, you can do the usual "and with this distraction, it was unlikely that warmonger was going to see the haymaker coming his way." or something.
b- forcing damage is on one of those no-no rule things. suggesting strongly what the damage is, seems to work better. "this hit has the power to put a hippo to sleep." it's up to them to decide if their skull is stronger than a hippo's.
c- ...yeah. unless you do that strong suggesting thing and the other person concedes. becomes a battle of who feels like making sense or something.
d- your problem is with your inability to fight people who spam fireballs, then, because they won't let you close? if it's how they fight, then... iunno. i wouldn't expect that an archer'd want me within 20 feet of 'em.

Then you read it wrong.
They get +1 to hit in short range, but the other guy still gets a free shot on them if they try to use a ranged weapon in melee combat.

You didn't answer E.
And E. is key.
Because E is a metaphor for 85% of the characters that frequent HoH.
But hey... I could always just claim immunity to powers.
But apparently that's not fair. Even when compared to the most haneous power usage.. immunity to... having someone nuke your brain or melt off your skin or bur you up or shock you or change the content of your air or change the temperature in which you operate or.. put up forcefields and shields against everything and being trapped in some substance or.. trapped in some alternate reality or... whatever else people do with their powers..
Immunity is just toooooo much for a human to have.

So what if a human was immune to all forms of physical damage?

Then he wouldn't be human. He'd be Juggernaut.

Instead. I oughta be like that kid in the movie whose power is that... nobody else's mutant-abilities work around him.
That'll teach 'em.

Chaplain Fenix So what if a human was immune to all forms of physical damage? You go Neji-style and use chakra to rupture their internal organs.

dnd makes no sense to me. i'm not gonna answer questions that mention +4 steamrolling feats and such, 'cause i don't know about all that. i actually forgot e was there, my bad.
i dunno. if you can get in close to him, you should be able to punch him. you're skilled enough for it... i suspect that in most cases, you can make them laugh and then go to blow something up, but you're not there. and then you put them to sleep.
"heinous."
if you can pretty much say that you've built your char in such a manner that he has an immunity to spiritual and elemental attacks, and is only truly affected by physical... then who's going to really say anything otherwise that'll hold weight? i'm thinking of a couple of bosses where physical attacks do nothing; you have to hit them with magic... and another boss where the reverse is true. so if a person sets their char up for magical immunity... if it's supportable and not twinkin', it's fine enough, isn't it?
HUMANS get no magical immunity because they're HUMANS and are universally considered base on all fronts with no super gains or losses. immunity is considered a gain, i'm sure. unless you have a null-magic/absorb thing... then i wouldn't expect a HUMAN to be able to be immune to magic.

Mr. Crawley Then he wouldn't be human. He'd be Juggernaut. Only for him to land in the biggest pile of dogshit in the world.

Reallife equivalent would be Ki, Qi, however you call it. There is a real world fighting style that is capable of the same results.

Mr. Crawley Immunity is just toooooo much for a human to have. Deckard Shade. Difference between him and Reiko... Deckard was a drunk. Reiko can bench press Cleveland. Immunity + Godlike Power = Too Much. Immunity + No Power = Fine. Power + No Defenses = Not as fine, but doable. Godlike Power + Anything = No.

The strong is the beautiful.
All I'm asking is for some balance. I want to walk into a fight. And not have someone tell me my character is either dead or KO'd from some sudden lightning strike that was summoned.
Apparently if I want to keep it Gangsta (read = h2h) I'll have to go the way of Juggernaut.
Or perhaps wear something that saps the magical abilities of others.
