I made all y'allz go over TAT again because nobody marked it for anything. Sam and Impact, at least. Were you even starting on grading, or did you get drafted later due to the fact that JB had gone AWOL with his JD and was currently MIA?

I remember volunteering like a couple days later because I was bored and had nothing to do. Plus I was already technically staff because I was an eliminator.
JB was drafted later because the ASOC guy never showed up for anything, ever.
All I know is I was told to look for broken characters, rather than powerful ones. Like that one guy who could juggle 65 tons, control gravity, shoot lasers from his eyes, summon the Union army, and was a master with every Japanese weapon.

He couldn't summon the Confederate army?
Also, yes. TAT got in on the first day, you got drafted like 2 days in and didn't have to go over the teams that had already gotten the double stamp of approval (which was only like 2-3 teams by then). So you were exempt from my wrath.
And broken > powerful.
As a general rule, anyone with a 'higher form' on their character is usually broken. Not always, but most of the time it's just an excuse to go from "I have a pretty powerful character" to "u betta' run, b***h".

Finished all the posts I owe excepting ones where I'm just posting on my own without anyone posting back at me.
Except the one in What Remains. Gonna have to get to that later.
But posted to Ryugi, Kaiden, and Noobdude.

*the darkness suffers zero points of damage, but the path in which the magic missile travels is temporarily lit by the glow of the magic missile* -edit- At this rate of avatar ascension, it will look like we posted what the previous/before-previous poster posted.

themightyjello @ Vahn: Lawl. No Glacier. Means other people might actually have a shot. @ HoH: It is now also DOUBLE-ELIMINATION as opposed to the SINGLE-ELIMINATION we'd been running the last 2 years. Double Elim would take more time wouldn't it? Here's another idea. No 2nd or 3rd place. Either you won or you didn't. Here's one more idea. Heavier power regulations. And by that, I mean in-battle usage regulations. Here's another zinger... if you find it hard to judge based upon who kicked whose a** the most.. why not judge it based on who had the most control over the pace of fight? Anything would be better than judging it based on writing skills.

It's unrealistic the judging should be based on something that actually matters IC.

I judged heavily on how entertaining it was, which could mean writing style or ability to fight. If they write a novel about throwing a punch it's boring.
If they backflip out of the way of a simple punch, it's boring.

If fights came down to being judged by damage dealt then Athan would lose every time.
Nobody wants to get hit by his sword because they'd probably die, and it's very unlikely that you'd see Athan dodging anything.

Mr. Crawley Double Elim would take more time wouldn't it? Only by a week. We already worked out the brackets last year in the crew discussion. Crawley Here's another idea. No 2nd or 3rd place. Either you won or you didn't. Some people like to have a shot at winning something if they manage to win five fights in a row. Crawley Here's one more idea. Heavier power regulations. And by that, I mean in-battle usage regulations. Noted. Suggestion Box Here's another zinger... if you find it hard to judge based upon who kicked whose a** the most.. why not judge it based on who had the most control over the pace of fight? Anything would be better than judging it based on writing skills. 25% of the points go to dominating the fight. 25% to not being boring. 25% to not keeping everyone waiting. 25% for not getting flags played on yourself. Either I cut out the points in the last one and just lump them on top of curbstomping points, or when we revamp the rules breaking power restrictions would be penalized on this. "Oh, you turned gold and started levitating, -2 powerplay points." I wouldn't bet on the guy getting his balls stomped, even if he writes like a not-annoying Ertai.
