Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 3/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 Again he failed at finishing a single minute of this training. He only had two minutes to go... and yet it seemed like two hours with how he was doing. It was like he was failing utterly to get anything done, and that annoyed him more than anything. He knew he could finish this if he had enough time, but time was of the essence. He needed to quit pulling punches and get serious so he wouldn't have to take another break before finishing this. He knew he could do it, but could his legs handle it? That really was the million ryu question today. He would have to put his money where his mouth was if he ever planned to get out of here. Since he made a vow to not leave until he finished, he'd have to live up to that or face the wrath of the gods themselves. Squats DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Str mod. Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 Yet again he failed, and he doubted he would be able to finish without needing to rest again. He felt rather weak already, but he had to try one more time to keep from falling over dead like a doornail. Not that doornails were ever alive to begin with so that analogy didn't really make sense, but it got the required point across. He knew he should probably rest now before he seriously hurt himself, but his pride kept him from doing so. He had to try... just one more time. No matter what it took, he'd have to give it that old academy try before throwing in the proverbial towel. After all if he threw one in here it would probably catch fire on one of the braziers and make a huge commotion. Squats DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Str mod. Train: 8/10 Posting: Post Hp in every post. Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 He had done it! He had managed to last another minute, and now only one minute stood between him and his starting goal. If he could just hold on a little bit longer he would be done with this infernal exercise and he could move onto something far better than this! Surely nothing was as bad as dealing with this constant failure, but there was always the case that he might fail. He was already greatly weakened, and it would be a really race occurrence if he could hold onto the wall for just another minute to complete this training. He would need the favor of the gods to pull something like that off, and really he didn't feel that he had earned such a favor from them. They were probably out assisting more worthy disciples of their causes. Squats DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Str mod. Train: 9/10 Posting: Post Hp in every post. For every DC fail -1 Hp.

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 It seemed impossible. He had failed to finish that tiny bit of training that was required of him. No matter, he would take a short rest and then get back onto his feet. Then he would try again to hold the squat for just one more minute, and if he failed he would take a short rest again. He wasn't going to give up here, regardless of what happened. He needed to get through this, there just wasn't any other choice. He just had to keep telling himself that so that his mind and soul would force his body to work in the ways he wanted it to. If it kept breaking down it only meant that his fighting spirit was weak and needed time to be strengthened. Rest post +1 HP

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 Here he went again, trying to finish his squatting training. It was unlikely that he would finish this time either. He had tried so hard until now that he just wasn't sure that he had the will to continue this struggle. Still he had to fight to get through, because as he kept telling himself, he had spent far too much time on this exercise for him not to continue through it. Once he got done here he could go onto class and feel confident about himself. Or he could feel terrible about himself when he showed up barely able to walk from all this training work. Not that he was good at being good at anything, he was just below average at most of the things he tried. This seemed to be the standard progression of events in his life, and he wanted to change that if he could. Squats DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Str mod. Train: 9/10 Posting: Post Hp in every post. Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 So much for doing better on that time around. He felt so weak and pathetic as he continued failing at completing the last minute of squats. He only had one more minute... one more minuscule minute... and yet he was unable to do anything except sit there and rest. He just wanted to be done so that he could leave, but secretly he was afraid that because he was failing so badly at this simple task. What was supposed to take a few minutes more was taking closer to three times the amount of time that was normally needed, and that was the problem. He knew that at this rate he was going he would never make it through the academy. Rest Post, +1 HP ((Ignore roll, rest post. ))

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 Here he went again with this squat training. His strength and endurance were far from good, but he had to try again anyway. He figured that only one more minute wouldn't be beyond his power, but it had been until now. In fact the harder he tried the less successful he seemed to be, which was worrying in itself. If any of the priests, or perhaps his future classmates, saw him having this big of a problem they might just kill him outright as a sign that they wouldn't tolerate weakness in the village. Surely if he was met by any disciple of Surtur they would want to be burn him alive so he couldn't pollute the planet with his uselessness. Regardless, he had to try again. It wasn't like he had anything to lose in the process. Squats DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Str mod. Train: 9/10 Posting: Post Hp in every post. For every DC fail -1 Hp.

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 2/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 There he was, finally done with the entire training session. He had managed to complete the infernal squats, and he knew that he had to chalk it up for future practice. If he was this bad now, future work would have to be done to insure that he wasn't this bad next time as well. Furthermore, he would have to get his strength up, even though he knew there were far more annoying parts of his training that needed doing. For now though he felt accomplished, and decided to take a few minutes to rest and recover from his ordeal. Afterwords, he had class, and a lot of training to do there as well. Oh well, such was the life of a ninja in the village of the hidden leaf. Training Complete! Squats DC: 12 Formula: 1d20 + Str mod. Train: 9/10 Posting: Post Hp in every post. For every DC fail -1 Hp.

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 3/10 CP: 4/4 MHP: 8/8 It appeared that he had finished quicker than he had expected. He still had a bit of time before he had to go to class, so the best idea was to do a bit of studying. He pulled out a few scrolls relating to ninjas and began reading, hoping to get some more information about ninjas in general. For all that he knew about religious matters, he didn't know anything about the shinobi world. All he really knew was that there were jutus and handseals and various ranks, but that didn't help at all when you were trying to join this group of famous killers. Hopefully this impromptu training session would shed some light on his ignorance, thus enlightening him to what he was supposed to be doing. It was doubtful, but it was just being done to kill time before he went to class anyway. Studying DC 10 Formula: 1d20+Int Training: 0/10

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 20/20 CP: 8/8 MHP: 18/18 The first section gave Kiyoshi a good deal of basic information about the world itself. For starters it had a map detailing all of the various countries in the world. He was amazed there were so many, especially since this was a war-torn world. He started reading about the land of fire, which was the land that his own hidden village was in. For starters it appeared that the leaf village was the largest hidden village, and that the land of fire was the first to adopt a hidden village system. It was aligned toward the element of fire, which made sense given its name and the strengths of its shinobi. It's leader was the daimyo of fire... who if Kiyoshi remembered correctly was responsible for starting the recent war. Well, he'd have to remember to look up more information on them later. Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 20/20 CP: 8/8 MHP: 18/18 The next bit of information on the scroll was the land of water. Like it's namesake, its people and its lands had an affinity towards the water element. It was composed of a number of islands, and apparently was lead by a daimyo just like the fire nation. Kiyoshi briefly wondered if all of the nations of the world were controlled by daimyo or if it was just the main countries. They probably all were, but that was a large assumption to make that he couldn't bear to say out loud without first having information to back it up. The scroll said very little else about the land of water, so he made a mental note to ask around about it after he finished his academy training. After all, if he did that he would be able to better defend against any opponents from there. Studying DC 10 Formula: 1d20+Int Training: 2/10

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 20/20 CP: 8/8 MHP: 18/18 Just then Kiyoshi realized that the scroll lacked any kind of organization from then on. Sighing to himself in frustration, he tried to go about finding any kind of logic or reason to how the information was put together. It was almost like it was put together randomly, without any form of thought beforehand. Of course that was impossible, mostly because it had to be written down, and as such space had to have been allocated while writing. Therefore someone had deliberately made the information in this scroll hard to understand, and that might have been because they were trying to dissuade people from reading it on a whim like Kiyoshi was now. Even so, he was able to figure it out after a bit of thinking, even if it did annoy him in the process. Studying DC 10 Formula: 1d20+Int Training: 2/10

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 20/20 CP: 8/8 MHP: 18/18 Now that he had figured out the problems with the scroll, he was able to continue his studies in peace. He knew that he didn't have too much time, but he didn't care much about that. He would still be on time, just as he was supposed to be. The next country on the scroll that was talked about was the land of sound, and seemed to be mentioned only because it was a neighbor of the fire nation. It was a small, new country in relation to the others, but relatively prosperous from what he could tell. why the fire nation hadn't absorbed it before was unknown, considering the village hidden in the leaves was the most powerful nation on the planet at the time. Of course, it could have been that it was easier to keep it as a buffer, but the scroll said no more. Studying DC 10 Formula: 1d20+Int Training: 3/10

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 20/20 CP: 8/8 MHP: 18/18 Apparently walking around and trying to study at the same time was a bad idea. In the midst of looking at what came after the sound village in the scroll he tripped over his own feet, falling to the ground like a fool. Kiyoshi quickly scrambled to his feet, hoping that no one had seen him fall like that. It was too embarrassing, but it was also dangerous considering all of the flaming braziers everywhere you looked. Knocking one of them onto yourself would do more than just land you in the hospital, it would also probably get you killed. There was also the fact that it would burn the scroll as well, and he couldn't let that happen. Knowing that he was wasting time, he hurried back to his desk to continue studying in a stationary position. Studying DC 10 Formula: 1d20+Int Training: 3/10

Kiyoshi Masaru HP: 20/20 CP: 8/8 MHP: 18/18 It also helped if you managed to pay attention to what you were reading. Somehow Kiyoshi had managed to swap out the scroll he was studying with a completely different one, and he wasn't exactly sure how that happened. He quickly scrambled around, looking for the original scroll everywhere. After ten minutes he discovered it under his desk, and he didn't even want to think about how stupid he would have looked if anyone had found him searching like that. Later, he would have to train his searching skills, because it could come in handy one day when on a mission or something. At the very least it would come in handy when trying not to look stupid in front of other ninjas. Ninjas as it were, had long memories for that sort of thing.
