"I didn't realize, I was just on my way back to the bookstore and kind of lost my way..", she said lifting the hat from her head and looking down at it. Lacuna gave a faint smirk and looked up at Jakkin with a sigh of relief.
"Why are you out here anyhow?", she questioned with a raised brow.

Lifting his camera, he gestured with a smile. "Working, although I think I'm done for today." He slipped an arm lightly across her shoulder, turning her gently in the other direction then dropping his hand. "You'll want to go this way" he smirked.

Lacuna nodded, "Yeah, I suppose that would explain my issue", she said standing on her tip toes and carefully placing the worn hat back upon Jakkin's head.
"Thanks for the guidance", she said taking a few steps towards the direction she had been positioned to.

"Anytime beautiful." Jak fell into step beside her, quietly contemplating her profile as he gently placed a hand on her elbow, guiding her carefully over the uneven path.

Lacuna stopped suddenly and looked at Jakkin with sad eyes.
"Jak darling.. I have terrible news..", with tears streaming down her cheeks she exhaled deeply, closing her eyes for a moment, she thought about what she was about to do before returning her gaze to Jakkin.

Turning to her, he slipped an arm around her waist, lifting a hand to cup her cheek, his thumb brushing a tear away. "Angel? What's wrong love?"

Lacuna took a deep breath and sighed, "I don't know if.. well, our relationship.. I mean Suru, you and I..", she stammered, "I just don't know if I can anymore...", she choked.

Dropping his hand, he stared at her, a stunned look in his eyes. He turned away to hide the anguish on his face, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. He took several step away from her, knocking his hat off on a low branch.

Lacuna fell to her knees, throwing herself into her palms trying to fight off the pain.
"I'm so.. sorry Ja.. Jak.." she managed to murmur through deep breaths.

Jak moved to lean against a tree, his back to her as he slid down to the ground. He struggled to keep his voice even as he spoke. "I love you...Suru loves you..."

Lacuna bit her lip as she gathered what she could of herself and held Jakkin's head close to her in a hug, petting him as she shook, unable to steady her movements.
"Jakkin.. I.. I'm just lost.. and I need to find my.. my way, I need guidance..", she brushed her tears away, trying to prevent more from escaping her swollen eyes.
"I just don't.. know.. if.. I.. I can.."

Jak pushed away angrily and struggled to get up. His limbs tense, he stumbled as he rushed to put some distance between them. His voice was hoarse as he spoke. "I offer you my heart, if that isnt enough..." his voice trailed off, his throat tight with emotion.

Lacuna whimpered, and with a small spark escaping her finger tip she sighed, kissing Jakkin upon the cheek before running in any direction she please trying to erase everythinbg she knew like she had done so long ago.

Jak slammed his fist into a tree, wincing with pain as he threw his camera violently into the woods, the shattering sound unheard past the tormented anguish he felt.

Lacuna felt her heart drop even farther at the sound of the shatter that echoed through the woods. It was no surprise to her that she would manage to run in the wrong direction once again and find herself very lost. Lacuna found herself by a pond and with sight of her reflection in the water she knelt down and cried miserably.
"I'm a monster...", she whispered stomping the water to remove the image of herself, watching the ripples she had created carry themselves out into the lake.
