elvisnake What do you have against Bob Salvatore? I like him... I just can't stand his writing style. I've read some of his other works, and I just don't like him. Now, Zahn...he's awesome. And Karen Traviss. I absolutley love her. She's my favorite author.

I like Salvatore much better when he's playing in the Forgotten Realms.

Zahn is better to be sure, and I also agree that Salvatore is better in Forgotten Realms, but I liked Vector Prime...

Zahn's overrated.
So he revived the EU and created MJ, Karrde, Car'Das and Thrawn.
But he really isn't that great a writer. Just good concepts.

Well, FP has a basic point there. Zahn can write the characters he made the way they are, because they're his, but he didn't do as well with Han, Luke or any other preexisting character.

Out of all the EU books I've read, Zahn has kept the best continuity with all hischaracters. And with existing characters like Luke, I thought he kept them fairly constant. Others have done a lot worse. Some authors (can't think of any off the top of my head besides Barbara Hamblen) didn't get some of the reactions and responses and stuff right...she changed personalitites to fit how she wanted them to.
And Zahn would beat up Rasalvatore any day. Go Timmy!

Believe me Robin, I mean no blasphemy to Thrawn.
Zahn can only write Thrawn well because he created him.
Look at his odd writing of Luke during HoT. What about Lando?
Which brings me to anoter point, that Lando has been SOOO skewed.

That's true. I'm in the middle of the first book of the Corellian trilogy, and Lando seems VERy strange. So does Luke, for that matter. Honestly, I can't see Lando running around trying to marry some chick just for her money.
Well....nah. I just can't see Lando being that desperate.
HoT would be Hand of Thrawn, right?
