well according to the communist manefesto communism is suppose to begin in a wealthy capitalist nation if not then it becomes dictorial like stalin and mao however i do think that stalin did allow his country to keep up with the rest but at the cost of lives. and yes the venus project eliminates marketting money scarcity police government and recognizes that all people shall work together for the common good its an entirely different system thats suppose to accept change and free humans from boring jobs of the assembly line. let the machines handle that while humans become educated to solve technical problems.

No where in the manifesto does it say this. What the manifesto says is that before Communism there must be a fully industrialized economy which is only achievable through capitalism. He also never said that failure to adhear to this will lead to regular dictators.

As for the Venus project, it is a strictly Utopian movement. It does not offer a practical plan to achieve it aims nor does it critically answer the problems our society faces today.

Actually, the Manifesto doesn't say that, and of particular interest to note, is that it says:
The communists turn their attention chiefly to Germany, because that country is on the eve of a bourgeois revolution that is bound to be carried out under more advanced conditions of European civilization, and with a much more developed proletariat, than that of England was in the seventeenth, and if France in the eighteenth century, and because the bourgeois revolution in Germany will be but the prelude to an immediately following proletarian revolution.
Now, Russia in 1905 was more developed economically than Germany was in 1848, and the Russian Proletariat was the most combative in the world, as evidenced by its attempt at revolution that year. In 1917, the Russian proletariat was much more combative, and there were even more technically impressive factories, with thousands of workers each.

And what was said of Germany, and only proved in the negative (the bourgeois revolution of 1848 was crushed because there was no proletarian revolution), proved true in Russia, and was proved to the letter: With the revolution in February, the capitalists could not maintain control of their own government, and it was replaced in fact long before October.

Anyway, this belongs in a thread of its own, and not in the intro thread, so if you want to continue, feel at home, and make a new thread. ^_^

Hi comrades! I hope you all welcome me here. I've been a youth member of the RCP for 2 years now. I love reading the works of Marx, Lenin, Mao, Stalin and of course, perhaps the greatest Marxist thinker of our time and chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party USA, Bob Avakian. He's made such enormous strides and we in the RCP truly believe he will bring revolution to the US. So if you have any questions about us feel free to ask away. I'll figure out Gaia sooner or later ^-^

a utopia is practically a perfect society and the creator of the venus project admits himself "we can never reach perfection" its a way of saying that problems can be solved with our minds and machines do as we tell them or program them to do its a society that is built to keep changing. besides doesnt communism in and of itself sound like utopia? and even communism isn't perfect

No. There is a reason Marxism is called scientific socialism. And how would you know communism isn't perfect if has never existed?

Comrade Rob
USS Endeavor
Name: David J. Bates

I'm a Marxist-Leninist Communist

Michigan, United ( ninja Socialist) States of America

Well, how can i really say why i am a Communist or the reasons behind my Leninist ways. What pushed me to pursue these ideologies was the Bush Administration and a love of Soviet History. I am not a member of the Communist Party however, as I don't have the money to pay the dues, and the irony is i am in college to be an Certified Public Accountant.

GLORY TO LENIN!

Yes Yes all that jazz. I advise you don't join the CPUSA or any party in America except for maybe the Spartacus League. Reason being all the parties ******** suck and aren't actually serving the working class in its emancipation.

Anyway, expect more than Soviet awesomeness in this guild. We actually approach communism on a theoretical basis. Check the various stickies, we have reading lists and such. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or Louis-August and we'll hastily reply. When Im not at work Im on Gaia, so yeah..
The CPUSA is a novelty item for wanna be Communists (bored rich kids looking for something to b***h about). they have been bought and paid for, if you get my drift. I was referring to my local Communist Party of Michigan. Its rather small right now, doesn't even have a website that i'm aware of.

Sorry Comrade for the confusion.

Even if that was true they'd only be causing confusion by not assuming its proper name.

But that's the thing. It isn't

its more communistic than any of the communist countries that have ever existed. Everything is available to the people equally. There is no government in the venus project which was one of the ultimate goals of communism. The creator of the venus project either he doesnt know that its communistic or he does know and he'd rather not admit it because if people knew it was then the project would be turned down in an instant

im guna be honest i think that all the communists in history except for marx have gave communism a bad name im talking about stalin castro and mao. I believe that the venus project which has communistic ideas may be the best direction to go in

http://www.thevenusproject.com/

WARNING OPINION FOLLOWS:
Looked at it, and found no sound Communistic ideals. I thought it was more of an expansion of Disneys Epcot Center. And Epcot is more informative and realistic. Sure it talks plenty about redesigning human society and culture, resource based economies that only produce what is needed. yatta yatta yatta. none of that means anything if we are not equal in more than our allocated resources. This is Welfare Capitalism, not even Socialist.

"There is no government in the venus project which was one of the ultimate goals of communism"

Yes there is a Government, its run by computers and algorithms as part of a "Cybernetic World Government" Not Communism
