"A possibility," Remy said with a shrug, somewhat too distracted by the newly mentioned detail of the knight's undergarments to sound overly involved with their conversation. "But I don't think he really likes me all that much, so maybe he wouldn't mind. Might even hand it over himself to get you out of his room." The djinn had yet to meet anyone as reluctant to have a genie as that prince Aurora was. Could he really be so spoiled as to not be impressed with him?

"People often do get the wrong impression of me at first," Algernon said, continuing their little 'game', as he so believed it to be. "One second I'm the chief event of some sacrificial ceremony, the next I'm courting Poseidon himself. Don't worry. Things of that sort happen to me all the time. I'm rather used to it by now." It allowed himself a chuckle before turning his eyes to a nearly sincere note on the prince, stopping as if to hold sturdy his next words.
"But truthfully, in all my proclaimed adventures, whether they be fictional or otherwise, I have yet to come across anyone as breath-taking as you," he said, voice lowering several notches, just barely above a whisper. But the wizard knew his part, and knew it well. He was a most brilliant actor. Averting his eyes hastily, as if highly embarassed at being caught in such a trance of words, the 'prince' turned away while clearing his throat.
"Interesting!" Algernon said quickly, running a hand through his shortened hair. "What I meant to say was 'interesting'. Forgive me, I really must learn to tame this silver-tongue of mine. Must be all the magical energies in the air here. Making me a bit light-headed, if you will. Are you feeling anything similar or is it just me being affected?" All was said in a nearly one-breathed, jumbled mess of nervous words.

((XD Understandable. Not to mention college is probably a strain! Take your time, Mint.))
"Yeah, I can see what you mean by 'useless'," the knight said, looking over the large array of "smelly goods" as he would so call them. He picked up a particularly interesting-looking bottle, a shapely crystal bottle containing some sort of bluish liquid. Bringing it up to his nose to sniff, he was almost instantly greeted with a spritz of the liquid, leaving him smelling like some strange flower garden, and sending him into a short fit of sneezes. Rubbing his nose, trying to rid himself of the mist, Nic quickly sat the bottle back in its place. "I'm too afraid to touch anything." As a knight, Nic would bravely face off against nearly any foe, but when it came to strange castle-full of seemingly harmless, magically-enchanted objects, he found reason to fear.
Instead of following Aurora's lead and brushing his hair, the darker-haired man simply ran his hands through his messy lockes a couple times and he was content. "Okay," he said, taking his leave of the bathroom back into Aurora's quarters. "You may be able to stand all these smellies in here, but if I stay a second longer, I think I'll faint."

Jack smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. "Yeah. I guess I'll try asking hims nicely...if he does catch me." he said with a laugh. "I'd rather not speak with him. He's too sensitive and easy to piss off."

"You don't have to tell me that. I've been blessed to see that pissy nature of his plenty of times already." Remy said, raising a hand to run down Jack's (let's say.. leather-gauntleted?) forearm, before interlacing their fingers together. "Honestly, he's worse than some moody woman.. But I suppose he isn't all that bad. I mean, he seems pretty content around that knight of his. At least not nearly as irritable. Lucky bloke."

[[I'd say it's steel by the looks of it in the picture. I'd rather go by that.]]
Jack giggled lightly. "I know that much already." he said. "I could tell by his reaction to you earlier that you seem to get in trouble with him often." Jack squeezed Remy's hand gently. It was nice to just sit and hold hands. Perhaps there was actually something special growing between them, and they weren't both just looking for a good time. "Lucky? Do you envy him?" Jack asked Remy, raising an eyebrow. There was a hint of teasing in his voice, though he was actually curious about the subject.

((Steel it is then.))
"Yes.. Often. That's pretty awful considering I've known him barely two days now. Must be some kind of record." Remy said, bringing their clasped hands toward his face. Pressing his lips lightly against Jack's knuckles, the djinn looked as if he were thinking hard on the previous question. For once, he looked serious. "I think.." A short pause. "I think I do.. I guess it's because no one's really.. hated me before like Aurora does. Sure I've had those who would get annoyed with me, but not like him. It's just strange. I suppose I am a little jealous." Throughout this 'realization', Remy had taken on a perplexed look as if he, too, had just discovered the reasoning.

All was said in a nearly one-breathed, jumbled mess of nervous words. Ryland looked to the crowned molding of the hall's ceiling in disbelief at the prince's claims to court his God, yet the halt in Balthier's steps threw him. Suddenly, Ryland's ability to listen seemed to increase 10-fold the softer Balthier's voice grew. The guised villian brought a visibe flush to the ruby-locked royal's face, who grew tensely at the other's false confession. Despite his usual playful nature, cautious blue hues surveyed the seemingly embarrassed Balthier, judging.
Finally, Ryland seemed to have decided the 'prince' was truthful. His charming disposition in begging forgiveness only strengthened his appeal.
Reaching to tug on the 'prince's' sleeve and pull him toward himself, Ryland grinned at Balthier's fidgety nature. "Mmm... I might be able to tell you better... if you came ... closer."

There was only slight resistance to Ryland's tug, only a moment where Balthier tried to dig his heels into the ground before a series a short, quick steps brought him face-to-face with the other boy. While biting the corner of his bottom lip, the wizard was on the verge of celebration on the inside. If he weren't playing the part of Prince Balthier at the moment, surely he would have let Ryland know just how much his actions excited him. But instead, he took on an air of surprise and sheepishness at theit their suddenly closer vicinity.
"... Okay," Balthier said, unable to keep what looked to be a bashful grin off his lips as his eyes lowered momentarily. "So, we're closer now.. What's your answer then? Feeling any.. effect at all or am I just getting disillusional?"

As Ryland stood so close to this 'Balthier,' this masked evil creature whom he was entirely ignorant of, he found himself overheating.
He felt such a strong attraction to Balthier, it almost felt magnetic.
Ryland was mildly confused by Balthier's response... and even annoyed. Interesting? Here Balthier was, an attractive and successful prince, clearly flirting with Ryland, and perfectly charming in every way. He'd done such a good job up to this point. Then he had to go and ruin the mood with calling the merman 'interesting'... no, it wasn't so much that interesting was a horrible adjective. It was flattering on its own. But Ryland took offense at how he'd replaced something much more flirtatious and flattering as 'breathtaking' with the dull, unattached, scientific word 'interesting.'
"My answer is...Welcome to 'interesting' Exhibit A, a merman prince from Atlantis. He has two legs, and no tail, no gills, no webbed fingers, no trident on his person. Pity shame you can't see him in his true form, for how much more 'interesting' would that be? So 'interesting' it should probably be in a museum, or perhaps a circus. I'm honestly not sure if you're delusional or not, Balthier, but I'd say visit a circus for something interesting. Or look at your tongue. If its silver, that's something interesting that should entertain you for hours."
Following his small rant, the prince took a step back and began heading off in the direction from where they came.

Balthier was left with his mouth agape at where Ryland was standing just but a moment ago. Not only was he surprised in character, but as a whole, he hadn't expected such a sudden explosion from the ruby-haired boy. Shaking his head, he realized he had raised a hand after the other and by now, found the prince had gained quite a distance on him.
"Prince Ryland!" the darker-haired one called, suddenly running to catch up with him. "Prince Ryland, please wait!" Once managing to catch up with him, Balthier stepped out in front of him, throwing out both arms as if trying to block him from getting away. "Please, I didn't mean that. When I get nervous, I sometimes say things I don't realize may actually offend. If you'll allow me, I take back what I said, but.." He finally dropped his arms to his sides heavily, tilting his head slightly to the side as he gave a charmingly apologetic smile. ".. I really do think you are amazing."
"But let me clarify real quick! Not 'strange' amazing or even 'circus' amazing. Just.. amazing," he explained as if he himself couldn't quite come to terms with its meaning. "We've only just met but it feels as if I've known you somewhere before. Even in our short walk together, I've come to admire your carefree personality, your humor, and most especially-" he reached a hand out, his fingertips only centimeters away from Ryland's lips. ".. your smile."
"So, please, Prince.. Won't you forgive me for my folly?"

((Haha, yeah, college would be a strain.... if I was in college. xD I still have to finish high school, though.... I'm still dealing with junior year, but I already have premature senioritus! gonk
Anyway, I am SOSO sorry for taking so long to reply! I kept forgetting and school work kept piling up.... gonk ))
Amethyst hues watched as Nic investigated some of the more girlish accessories of the bathroom, a small giggle escaping his lips as Nic accedentally got more than the wiff he had been aiming for, leaving the brunette in a minor sneezing fit. "Hmm, well, then if the ever bold and daring Sir Nicholos is afraid of a simple spritz, I know what to use next when encountered with some dangerous foe or kidnapper," the blond replied, a lightly teasing grin on his lips.
Now that the prince's hair was dry, it was back to its usual look of platinum perfection, each lock shining like a strand of finely woven gold. Nic left and, several moments later, Aurora followed. He made his way to the end of the room where all his closets and dressers and other such clothes-containing acomadations had been placed. He quickly riffled past all the overly garish and girly apparell, picking out the few ambiguous garments that Emily had snuck past Celestine's watch. Happy with his catch, Aurora closed the closet door behind himself. There was a sound of his towel dropping to the floor and then, several moments later, the prince exited the closet, towel in hand. The towel was then placed on a hanger on the outside of the closet door.
"I think Mother got you some new clothes.... they should be over there," Aurora said, gesturing to a wardrobe on the other side of the closet he had just exited.

Ryland did not wait. He kept walking until the false royal blocked off his path, and even then attempted to move to the right of Balthier, only to see he was blocked by an arm posed for the purpose of keeping him exactly where he was. His eyes glanced to Balthier's other side, noting the arm there as well and, recognizing that exiting was futile at this point, he stopped. Taking a step back, a hesitant azure gaze sought out Balthier's green one. Despite the seemingly apologetic tone, Ryland felt mildly uncomfortable. He wasn't used to being stopped like that. In fact, despite his days as a child when a nanny might shift him out of harm's way or his father denied him something, he was a prince who nearly always had his way. No one stopped a firstborn heir of Atlantis from doing as he pleased.
Amazing? Wasn't that just a synonym for interesting? Ryland began to judge Balthier's speech as soon as the words left his mouth. Whether it be fortunate or unfortunate for the ruby-haired royal, he found less and less fault in the other's words. They were... flattering: almost in a cheesy way. And wouldn't it be the most cliche for him to be unable to keep a straight face as the other prince finished?
Ryland mentally kicked himself, unable to prevent his lips from twitching into a bashful smile. How had he let himself be exposed so easily by a little flattery? Or had Balthier gotten under his skin long before that? He wasn't sure. Ryland turned his face down and reached up to grasp just below the wrist of Balthier's hand extended toward his face. He pulled it down, toward himself. "Stop making me smile," he chuckled, "We are having a serious discussion. Now, if you'd like me to forgive you... I demand to see Exhibit B: the silver tongue. It's only fair."

Algernon believed he had played the 'nervous prince' long enough now. It was time he had his Balthier side step it up a notch. So, the darker-haired boy put up no resistance this time as he was coaxed forward to stand directly in front of the Atlantian prince. Their bodies were scant inches apart. He brought up his other hand to cup the back of Ryland's neck in a strong hand, some of his fingers tangling in his mess of red hair. It was exactly this type of thing he so loved pulling himself out of his castle to do. And it always such a big bonus when his catches were as pretty as this particular prince, and that was quite the rarity.
"I couldn't possibly deny you," Balthier replied, closing the short distance between their two sets of lips. He ran his tongue slowly across Ryland's bottom lip before capturing it between both of his own with a little suckle. The disguised prince believed he tasted a mix of salt water and something.. sweet. A very intoxicating mixture, and something he wanted to taste deeper. And desiring such, the wizard connected their lips fully, his tongue trying to press between the ruby-haired prince's own lips momentarily, almost teasingly.
"Is that to your satisfaction, Prince Ryland?" he whispered coyly against his lips.

"Making them smell like happy daisies and sunshine?" Nic asked, still rubbing at his irritated nose. "I suppose that would make them rather irate. Give them a good blast in the face with it. That way it could irritate several of the senses at once. Just try to promise me you won't ever see me as being a dangerous foe. I'd rather you resort to beating me with your fists rather than your toiletries."
Looking over at Aurora momentarily, the knight grinned upon seeing Aurora shut the door. Even in the tub he had barely seen below Aurora's shoulders. He seemed so protective over showing off his skin. It wasn't as if Nic would have openly stared if he had changed right there. At least, not on purpose. That is to say.. He may have taken a glance.. Out of pure curiousity, of course! One glance and he would have been satisfied and would never again have had the urge to see the prince in such a state.. Or so he claims to himself.
"Me? New clothes?" Nic asked, striding over to the indicated wardrobe. Upon opening it, he saw inside a line up of what looked to be very well made, and very expensive clothing. ".. This couldn't be mine." But as he got one out and held it up to himself, it looked to be just his size. "Well, I suppose.. And since my other clothes were getting kind of unwearable." Being on the road as long as he had been, wearing the same pair of clothing, they really did start to get worn out. Shrugging, he just decided to put on the first thing he had pulled out. And showing his usual uncaring attitude toward such things, he dropped his towel where he stood and changed.
In the new clothes, he looked very much the part of a nobleman. "They're a little tight," he muttered, trying out his movements. Of course, he didn't know that's the way form fitting clothes were supposed to fit, being so used to more comfortable things. "Well.. How do I look? Worthy of being in your company yet?"
