I was watching 'Weeds' for the first time, and in this episode one of the main characters wanted to be in a xxx video.
In one of his scenarios he was dressed up as the Phantom (he was wearing a black robe with the wonky ALW mask).
I know it sounds gross, but I found it hilarious (it's an adult rated show btw). It kinda reminded me of that awesomely bad erotica novel.

Phantastic Phanatic Phantom of the Forum So, something finally has happened in the life of Puff which is Phantomy. Today during Gym, I found a long black silk ribbon on the ground. Nobody in the class wore a ribbon today... And it was knotted in a rather weird place, as if it were ripped near the knot. Perhaps Erik haunts my school? Or perhaps one of the cheerleaders lost their hair ribbon during practise yesterday? I don't know, but I believe it's my lucky ribbon now. (Maybe our band director will let me use it to tie my hair up for band performances! It is a school color, after all.) haha, awesome! now, did you ever convince him if you can play dies irae or...shoot i forgot the other song..well you probably know what im talking about! Oh, he probably forgot... Hartmetz is a spaz... Either way, we've got enough problems without hard music...according to him.

I just finished reading Betrayed, and the main character mentioned how she and her ex-boyfriend had gone to see Phantom.

I saw this comic in the paper with this line, or something really close to it in it: 'OH, GEE, NICE REACTION TIME! I'D BET THAT 'PHANTOM OF THE OPERA' GUY HAD FRIENDS LIKE YOU!"

Remember Backstreet Boys everyone? I'm sure someone's posted this before, but I love AJ as the Phantom in the "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" video. He makes me squee. He should replace Gerik...his face is scarier too ~cough~ I just watched it on YouTube and it reminded me of how obsessed I used to be with BSB. xD

For some reason in class today, some kid turned to another and asked about Fat Albert. The other kid responded, "Wait, did you say Phantom of the Opera?" And I immediately made a note to myself to rush here after school.

And I immediately made a note to myself to rush here after school. That's quite a non sequitur. biggrin My Comparitive Literature class is reading the Bhavagad Gita, and the professor was talking about the "infinite soul" or something when he suddenly said, "INSOLENT FOOL! ...Sorry, I just randomly thought of PotO." I had to restrain myself from correcting him.

Thorn Venatrix I saw an ad for the ALW musical in the local paper today. Alas, it is, after all, Webber's, so I shall not be seeing it. I choose Yeston/Kopit instead.
But seriously, people need to stop encouraginging that man. With all those ads on Broadway, I'm not surprised in the least at his ego, nor his desire to make a sequel. It's not just PotO, though. I was watching a clip from CATS on Youtube, and somebody wrote a praise for "Lord Webber." *gag*

Look at them squirm like worms in mud, Blaming a ghost who's flesh and blood. Crossing the line, tossing the dice, Making decisions and paying the price. I very nearly made a Stallah reference on my English quiz today. It was about Keats's Grecian Urn poem, and we were asked about the quote "Heard melodies are sweet but those unheard are sweeter". I was writing that we can hear good music but we can imagine perfect music-- HOLD IT! My brain imediately started singing "PERFECT MUSIC PERFECT LOOOOOOVE" and I almost burst out laughing. I changed perfect to ideal, I don't know why. The weird thing is that "perfect music, perfect love" applies to a whole stanza of that poem. If I were really a ghost, my dear, I'd find a better Hell than here! -Erik, The Phantom of the Opera, Tom Alonso
