haha, I knew no new characters would be released yet. Pwned.
But what they do have up is awesome. Look at the people working on the music. Holy s**t. And from the icon, it looks like it will be played with the Wiimote. Man, these be exciting times.

Okay, been home 10 minutes, I smell like fruit all over... 5 minutes for my comp to bloody start up... 5 minutes I've been shivering to the bone from the music clip they have up, in 5 minutes from now I'll have a giant fangasm Splosion from the music alone. Half my mind says disappointment about the small amount of new info, the other half is going mad as the smash fan inside me is yelling how ******** awesome that list of musicians is (Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, etc etc.) and how darn curious I am about any new info that they still can add lateron aswell as the first good looks of the new Battlefield level.

Anything else? Yesh I think I need to change clothes and take a shower =_=;...

Edit: I'm still shivering from the music! Its so ******** awesome!! Nintendo, you've done it again, thank you!!!!!!! heart (Nintendo for life! scream )

Although the icon shows a Wii controller I am still more convinced that they will let people use their Cube controllers or something similar. And yeah, the list is huge, I think most people will be beyond heaven if they add the option to listen to all the songs and sounds again as they did in SSBM, I would be anyway.

If this music doesn't hint at 3rd party characters appearing in the game than this update is not only completely pointless to me, but also a little irritating. ******** these music publishers, Nintendo can do fine on their own. That is, if they are on their own.

Sure they could do on their own, but if you look at even half of the 3rd party's I mean there are some of the best musicians present in those spots and no matter how awesome nintendo can be, those others are a must to make Nintendo even better.

I had a feeling as well that there would be no major update, but we did get some cool stuff out of that long freaking wait. That stage, though basic is a good way to start, I love the simple no gimmick arenas. That file is awesome and so is the list, Finally orchestrial for nintendo. the one thing is, I really hope that the wiimote is just an Icon, I dont see how Brawl could work with the wiimote I really dont

Meh, as good as the game will be, this update fails to impress me.

However, the new damage counters down at the bottem, that show the characters face, I don't like that at all. The thing already takes up enough space, do they really need to make it bigger?

I'll re-post here, seeing as this seems to be a more active Smash Bros thread.

Bad things about the update:
-I was hoping for more info (who wasn't?)

Good things about the update
-Daily updates on weekdays means something to read most days
-Great looking stage which looks more fun to play on than ever
-Wonderful music and the prospect of more great music to come
-The site design looks fantastic IMO, I love the little symbols and everything.

Overall, I guess it seemed a little hyped up, what with the countdown and all, but there are far too many good points to be taken from this to qualify it as being a disapointment.

I will refuse to play this game if it uses the wii remote.

Classic controller please.

Edit: That is, unless you use the remote like you would in SPM.

Smash Bros. DOJO Launches with Daily Weekday Updates!

was all I needed to see. I remember reading through translations on smashboards from when sakurai was answering questions and what not and he said when we start getting frequent updates about brawl we should expect a release date in a few months.

so close now I can taste it.

and on the controler thing I'm positive we will be able to use a GCN controler, what seeing as sakurai outright said we would be able to for brawl.

Just looking at how many people are doing the music makes me excited for the soundtrack. It was impressive in Melee, but this one might just blow my head off. There may not be much now, but we'll hopefully be seeing new stuff added every day.

Nintendo should have thought of that while making the Wii. I mean, I love the Wiimote, it is a revolution to gaming, but I would like to use it on the Wii for some games. I wouldn't want to use the Gamecube controller for Brawl. It seems to much of a net-gen game to use it. emo

thats why there will most likely be an option to use it.

but i myself would want to use the gamecube remote. i like the mechanics, and it feels easy to control.

plus with the wiimote how will you jump? i like pressing Y to jump with the GC remote, and with the wiimote id have to actually push up or thrust up.

plus with a fighting game i feel that anyone would lose actual stamina while playing thus becoming extremly tired afterwords.

anyway its all in how the gamer themselves feel. meaning both of us have 2 seperate opinions on the matter. and neither of our opinions should impact the way we feel towards the game itself.

AGREED

Though the GC controller would feel right, knowing I've spent so many years playing Melee, this should feel easy to use.
