I hated Tristan back when I watched the dub, and didn't care for him still when I started watching the Japanese. But after reading the manga, I started to see a different side of him (I hadn't gotten very far in the anime yet anyway), so then I started paying more attention to him in both the anime and manga, and now he's one of my favorite characters! Him, Jounouchi, Yuugi, Shizuka, Kaiba, both Maliks, Bakura Ryou, and Rishid. <3 I used to just be obsessed with Jounouchi and Kaiba, while still being fond of Yuugi, but now I have so many favorite characters! And I mean, his voice gives him super strength! That's pretty badass right there.
Yeah, I remember when TAS first started, I would say, "Screw the rules, I have money!" and everyone would be like, "WTF? Shut up mo fo, you poor." But at least "IGNORE ME!!" is easy for people to laugh at without getting the reference. XD
Oh... you're an English major? XD;; Then please excuse my horrible, confusing way of typing. I fail at the English language, and am too lazy to check my posts for typos. But I agree, making up words is fun!

@Kitsune~ I know what you mean by not liking a character at first... when I first saw the show I was like "that Kaiba kid's a jerk!", then I got further in the anime and saw bits of his past and what he went through and when my family finally got internet I looked stuff up on him and found out what he went through and saw that his life was a LOT like mine and thus was the dawn of a Seto Kaiba fangirl♥

@Kitsune - I know I LOVE to say "screw the rules, I have money!" but that SO does not apply. Haha, thank goodness "ignore me" came into play.
And yes I'm am (well, was - since techinically I graduated, but as I intend to stick with English when I start grad school next - not this - fall I guess I will be again) an English major but I do not scrutunize Gaia, so don't worry. Heck I probably make a lot of mistakes myself. I'm doing this thing where I try not to proofread my posts more often than I proofed my papers (which was never - I tend to cling to the "intellectual" side of the major and stick with the anaylsis of literature, not the teaching of the basics. Spelling and grammar just bore me to tears - luckily I was creative and inspired enough to get away with some of my more tedious grammatical failings). So yes, don't heckle me when I make my own typos and I shan't abuse anyone else's.
@Apoctolyptic - oh yea? Well Nyeh back at ya!
@Ghost (and kinda in reference to Kitsune) - with YGO I pretty much never started to like characters I disliked (maybe just hated them less), but I tended to pick up more and more characters as it progressed. Originally it was just Seto and Pegasus for me. Then Yami Y., Ryou and Bakura. Then Mai and Otogi and Jou - and well on it goes. But yea I can relate to that, I've done that with other series definitely.
I am pretty sure had I read the manga before watching the anime I would have hated Kaiba too. Who knows if I'd have changed? So I'll just be glad it was anime first - because Kaiba boy is so freaking adorkable!!!

@Ghost: It's difficult to imagine you not liking Kaiba. XD I never disliked Jounouchi, even when I watched the dub, and though it wasn't like, right away I knew he was my favorite character, I never chose someone else before him, and he was my favorite character after watching a few episodes. ^^
@JK: Ah, yay. XD I've always preferred creativity in writing over technicality.
I think I was kind of similar in adding favorite characters little by little. First it was Jounouchi, Yuugi, and Kaiba. Pegasus added, and Bakura Ryou, and then later Honda and Rishid and Malik and Yami no Malik and Shizuka and yeah... But there were also some characters that I originally disliked, then eventually liked/loved. I think they would be... Anzu, Honda, and Shizuka. That's probably about it.
I think I would've hated Kaiba at first if I started with the manga, but he probably would've grown on me. XD

@Kitsune~I know, right? When I think back to my younger days I'm baffled at myself for not being a Seto fangirl from the start. I think it's because around that time in my life a lot of things were changing for the worst and I was tired of the constant hate and anger between my parents getting their divorce and classmates picking on me for being the new kid at a new school... but as I said, after some research I found the similarities and became a fangirl. To be honest, Seto's more of a role model to me... to reverse his life and become something that huge just to give his little brother the best possible life, it was something I wanted to translate into mine or my sisters... sounds cheesy, but it's true..
@ JK~ I depends on what manga you read... If you read it from the VERY beginning, be prepared for a bit of deranged activities for the Kaiba boys...
I'm a freshman right of high school! I feel so belittled now...

@Kitsune - haha, that's like my dislike list (Anzu, Honda, Shizuka - annnnnd Yuugi, oh yea!! Haha, not hate just dislike). Never really changed. I dislike Yuugi less at times, Shizuka pretty much constantly stays on my nerves. Isis gets on my nerves too.
@Ghost - ahh I'd rather feel little than aged, this aging thing is VASTLY overrated...^_~. And I did read it from the very beginning. Which is why I say if I didn't already LOVE LOVE LOVE Kaiba I'd have had some issues. I loved him too much to stop loving him but my foundation was shaken a whole lot. I just kinda decided "screw you manga, I cling to the anime!!"

Wait, you mean your a freshman in high school, or a freshman just out of high school, in college?
@JK: Aww, you dislike Shizuka? XD I can see how she's annoying, but she really grew on me... well, no, I actually don't like her either in the dub version, but she's just so sweet in the Japanese... Isis bothers me sometimes, but I still like her. ^^
Yeah, I'm turning twenty in a month and I'm like... waaah, old! gonk Even though I know that's still really young... I'm already starting to get gray hairs, though I think that's just genetic. They're actually pretty though, like Pegasus' hair. o.o
Kaiba is definitely more awesome in the anime. Like... as hot as it was how he 'saved' Jounouchi after his death duel with Yuugi in the manga, it was also kind of an a*****e move, since he could've just as easily ended up killing the guy by dropping the key in there.

Yea, I'm sorry to admit, but Shizuka slightly gets on my nerves. I've never seen her in the Japanese, I've only seen season 1 of that. So it's just dub and manga for me.
Hey I've got 3 years on you so you don't get to be old because I'm not ready to be yet!!! Hehe...although gray hair? That's totally wicked awesome!
And I know, my friend pre-told me that it's Kaiba not Shizuka who saves Jou in the manga and I was like excited but then I'm like, aww, that assholery totally ruined it. Oh well... xp

Thanks for thinking it's cute, if I told other people that they'd tell me I'm deranged for having a fictional role model... ._.
I wish I had gray hair! I've always had a thing for white/gray hair. My hair color currently is a brownish black but my natural brown is coming back through finally!! The lady that dyed my hair didn't finish it(it was supposed to be black and white) but didn't do the white so I wanted to go back to my natural color....
Twenty?? I thought I was old, I'm 18 but I may as well be 40.. my joints ache all the time and don't go out like other kids my age... mainly because I don't really have any friends here in college...

@Apoctolyptic - please, call me JK...^_~...hehe, and thank you so much!! In return I shan't mind you hating any and/or all of the characters I choose to squish upon... razz . My favorite female character is Mai. Umm, actually she might be the only female I like. Oh wait, Mana...haha (actually she maybe beats Mai, not sure, she doesn't get much). But yea after that Shizuka is probably pushing it for third and considering I don't like her well...heh heh stressed . Anzu is probably my least favorite. And Rebecca - although currently I'm roleplaying as her (as well as Grandpa - whom I also don't like - and Pegasus - whom I majorly squish!!!). Which is kind of funny. Actually I'm immensely enjoying it. I think I've tangented far away from the original point here...hmm, what was that again? Oh yes, THANK YOU MUCH FOR NOT MINDING ME!!!
