Remmy shrugged. "Sometimes it's more than a hobby. My roses are all I have in America other than college. It reminds me of home. I need to get some cherry trees that are a few years old, I'd love to see the sakura floating down." Her face was lit up like she was imagining the blossoms falling onto her hair and face.

mmm... there's a flower shop in the mall... they sell all sorts of things other than flowers. i'm betting that if they don't have what you want, they can get it. they have some pretty good quality stuff, nothing half dead or anything like that...

Remmy nodded. "I'll have to remember that and visit it sometime. It would be nice to have cherry trees again. It would be like being back at home. Do you have any plants that you are particularly fond of?" she asked, pushing a strand of hair out of her face and behind her ear.

Remmy smiled. "I think one day you will find a plant that suits you, not necassarily a flower. And I think when you do, you should take it to your mother with the rose. It would make her happy to see that you had found a plant to suit you, I think." She had to stifle a giggle and barely avoid a blush when she realized she used the words 'I think' in every sentence.

she... wasn't a plant person... just liked roses ::said with a shrug:: i think roses were the only flowers she wasn't allergic to... and if you can give me a plant that doesn't die around fire, then i'll give you a plant i can take a liking to

She laughed. "There are a few hybrid plants that enjoy the heat. I could find out what they are if you would like. There's some sort of plant called the pheonix I think." She said, trying to remember about the plants she had read about two weeks ago.

pheonix? ::actually seems honestly interested:: isn't that some kinda... fire bird or something? ::she closes her eyes for a moment, digging through her memory for what she had learned when she had gone through a mythology phase:: kept being reborn from its own ashes or something like that... there was only one.... ummm... represented love... ::shakes her head:: can't really remember any more than that

Remmy nodded. "It doesn't realy represent love, more like a passion to live. But yes, it was always reborn from it's ashes. Sometimes in desperation it would burst into flames when there seemed no hope left for it's life. There was actually more than one but muthology always focuses on one. Anyways, the flower likes heat and blossoms best in a warm climate or around a fire. It's sort of the opposite of a morning glory which likes the cold of the dawn." Mythology was one of her favorite subjects, but if it coincided with plants then she proably knew more about it than typical mythology.

::mentally stomping on the her own rising intrest, she forces her expression into one of boredom and shrugs:: they're probably really rare though... mega expensive and super hard to find... and even if i did, i'd probably end up killing it anyway... ::which was too bad, she thinks to herself wistfully. something that wouldn't die from her temper but actually thrive? something like that is too good to be true anyway::

Remmy shook her head. "It's actually not that rare. I saw a few the other day in some store for about fifteen follars. It's a bit expensive for a plant but it's worth it. And you can't really kill it. If it dies, as long as someone didn't rip it out by its roots, it'll grow right back. That's why it's the pheonix flower. The bloom is really lovely." She wanted to find one for Nia for some reason, maybe she felt she needed it. She felt an odd sense of need from her.

trust me... in my house, if the only way to kill it is to rip it out by the roots, it'll die... my.... my sister has a bit of a temper ::major understatment. the translation was that her sister, seeing that Nia was actually attached to something, would take great pleasure in killing it herself::

Rem's brow furrowed. She hated to think of anyone purposefully killing a plant. To her it was just wrong, like killing an animal. "I could keep it for you. Then you could come over and tend to it everyday. It's wretched to think anyone could have a temper awful enough to kill something that never did anything to them." She shook her head in dissapointment and despair over the state of affairs.
