User Image Vergil simply held his smirk for a moment longer, though was starting to grow increasingly bored at this point, finding less and less enjoyment or purpose to his presence here every second. So he merely headed for the exit of the cave and called back to Dante with a smug tone. "I'll be taking my leave now, I have other matters to tend to. Do try to make it to the bash on time Dante. I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss the main event." And with that, he merely started tro walk away from the cave entrance and then vanished in a flash. A manner similar to how his one doll had arrived just moments before.

Nelo Angelo stood up straight and began to follow his master Vergil, with only a single casual glance back to the group before he too went outside and vanished in a quick flash of speed to follow his master from the cavern, who's name he despised, to head for his mansion for now on the other side of the forest.

Sesshomaru simply looked around the room for a moment, moving only his pupils and not a single other muscle before he sighed and closed his eyes for a moment. He had only just arrived and it was already that they were leaving. As if he wasn't bored enough already. Perhaps he could spar with the other dolls in the courtyard or something to work on getting stronger in the meantime when they did get back. He reopened his eyes and then followed the same route and method used by both Vergil and Nelo Angelo to leave. Totally oblivious to the thoughts of the female doll Trish.

Effloresca looked around at everyone stopping at Dante. She tried nor to smile at his outburst. Then her gaze traveled to her brothers, "want to go?" she asked referring to the party.

Ifrit sighed, completely bored out his mind. "you must be truly ancient." He said turning his gaze to the older woman. It seemed that the pleasantries had finally worn down and he was done. He only wanted to get out of here, move about, or just do something.

Brutus and Judas were having an information over load. too many things were going on at once for them, seeing at least four dolls they had never seen before was a big part of it. They were both so existed that if Effloresca hadn't been holding onto them they would have been running around excitedly and trying to make friends with the new dolls. It was both scary and exciting. The two of them had a sparkling twinkle in their eyes and they were indeed very close to being hyper. But hen they heard Effloresca's question and that pushed their limits. They both Hugged Their big sister tightly and exclaimed in unison, "Yes!!!!! Yay!!!!" The propect of being at a party was a bit too much excitement for them to handle calmly, since they were still little kids after all. Not to mention the prospect of meeting more bounts than they already had.

Old Sophie smiled as she watched the twins. It was so cute, and reminded her of her nickname. It made her wish she really was a grandmother, because then she'd have someone to dote on. Someone to be proud of. All she had was her doll, and most of the time he was a grumpy cloud of ashes in her make up jar.

A Thousand Years of Memories, Chp. 15: Dante's Inferno

Dante looked up and glared at the tall man that had walked in with the blue overcoat. He knew this man and they had basically hated each other at this point in nothing but pure disagreement on everything. Their facial features matching, as well as their hair color and general physical build. They were twins after all. Dante just grumbled and stood up to face the man known as Vergil, ready to reach for his Rebellion blade should he need it.

Ridel was slightly confused by the sudden appearance of this guy who seemed to put Dante on edge... having the mindset of a twelve year old she got up and got close to Dante and as she neared him she caught a whiff of his anger and his resentment toward the man and the need to protect her in case something went down. Ridel looked at the man who looked like a more dignified toned down version of Dante... if she had to put it one way Dante was the warm color version and Vergil was the cold color version. Dante chaotic always moving, Vergil calm and quite static. There was a sort of veil over this moment as they stared each other down and Ridel could smell this person's confidence from all the way over here. "Who's that...?" Ridel asked tugging on Dante's sleeve.

Dante held his glare and only glanced down to see Ridel tugging on his overcoat sleeve, asking who the man that looked almost just like him was. The only difference between the two being their color scheme really and the fact that while Dante's hair was brushed down, Vergil had his swept back. Before Dante could answer the tiny girl's question, Vergil spoke up instead. "My name is Vergil, and I just happen to be Dante's older twin brother." He spoke with a bit of calm, collected coldness in his voice. "I didn't know you went and had a kid, or are you starting a babysitting service now?" Dante glared at him further, his hand now grasping the handle to his blade. "She's not my kid and I don't babysit. You know damn well that she's like us."

Ridel stared at him from behind Dante. She was smelling a variety of things now and tried her best to ignore it, she had a bit of food left on her plate so after a few seconds of staring she seemed to deem him as something not to worry about. she went back to her chair and hopped up into the seat where she continued eating looking between the two brothers every now and again as if it were a dinner show.

Vergil smirked and took a step closer to them, Dante's grip on his sword tightening as he lowered his gaze to him. "Such a rude baby brother. Perhaps I need to teach you some manners." His tone becoming more serious. Dante the drew the massive blade from his back and pointed it to Vergil. "Ha, I'd like to see you try. Just take it out of here. I don't intend to hurt any bystanders you know." Vergil only smirked and walked back outside and spoke without looking back. "Fine. As you wish." And then made his way out.

Ridel stared at the two of them, they were certainly hostile and that didn't sit well with Ridel. She had just met up with the nice man who saved her a few years... wait a second. It was at that point that Ridel remembered what Dante had said to her. "One Hundred Years..." She said quietly, as the fork dropped from her hand.

Dante scowled and stepped towards the door before looking back to Ridel. "Stay in here." He told her firmly, before he followed the way his brother took to the open streets of this little village. Things were about to get violent and a bit flashy soon and Ridel, being the twelve year old she looked like, should not be seeing such things.

Ridel didn't really hear him as he said that, she was ravaging her mind trying to find out exactly what she'd been doing for 100 years that she couldn't remember. "What was I doing... one hundred years... I woke up in a bloody dress that looked like it had been impaled... I... remember... that shadowy giant... and the tower... and then I went to the portal..." Ridel's mind finally broke into her sealed memories and she fainted. Unknown to both Dante and Vergil Ridel was about to go on a rampage as her half open eyes started to taint themselves red, like the blood.

People could already be heard screaming outside, running away from the central area of the town. Vergil and Dante having already engaged each other in battle. What terrified the people most was the sheer speed and manner in with they fought. Flashing back and forth at unseen speeds, creating massive sparks from each clash of their blades. Dante and Vergil even ran along the sides of a few buildings for a brief moment or two, clashing and pushing off off each other to reach impossible jump heights. They even created a back wind just by passing or clashing their blades together.

The owners and patrons of the Tavern had long since shut themselves up in their rooms for fear of the 'demons' outside. Ridel's unconscious form started twitching as the power of her old form started to seep back into her conscious overriding her mind and slowly starting to take control of her body. As it does so Ridel begins shudder and twitch as she begins to undergo a transformation back into the form named Ridel Scarlet, named not only for the color her eyes adapted but the rivers of blood that she spilt as that form. Though she would only be a pale imitation of what she once was.

The battling brother, oblivious to Ridel's changing body, were in heated combat now. They were too focused to notice the power building in the inn. Dante back fliped over a sideways slash and Vergil did the same to his counter, only to have his blade meet steel again. "I see you haven't lost your touch....dear brother..." Vergil spoke in a strained voice. "Yea of course....can't fall behind you can i?" Dante teased him in a similar tone. Their attacks had already cleaved through several shop stands and left marks through at least a couple of walls at this point.

In the inn Ridel's power explodes and the initial spasm of power flings the table she was sitting at through the wall into the street, though a little crash and a rolling table wouldn't have gotten the battle crazed brother's attention. Ridel's new form was tall, roughly 5' 10" and had hair just as long as the miniature Ridel's did, and a rack that could put the bustiest woman to shame, and the transformation also altered her clothes, into a leather corset and dress. Ridel sniffed at the air smelling the power of the brother's outside. As she stepped barefoot outside her bloody red eyes scoped the scene. She soon spotted the brother's deadlocked, and charged she was on them faster than an instant but 40 years of disuse had made Ridel rusty in the used of her combat skills. And she went sailing through and past them and they got bowled over like rag dolls in her wake, though it did no real damage.

Dante, as luck would have it, ended up jumping backwards and onto this rolling table as Vergil missed another slash. They exchanged blow even like this, without a second thought on the matter that was happening around them. Dante front flipped forwards off of the rolling table before it crashed into another building to block another dramatic slash from Vergil's Yamato katana blade. This was the moment that the older, stronger and much more alluring Ridel came crashing into them and through the wall next to them. They were both caught completely off guard and fell with her, though nobody was truly hurt by this. Dante and Vergil each stood back up from the rubble, brushing themselves off and looking down to the fallen Ridel Scarlet. "We have an uninvited member to the fun." Vergil commented while Dante looked more intently at the long haired blonde. "The hell? Ridel?" He asked sounding confused as he seemed to recognize some of her reiatsu.

Scarlet stood ignoring the bits and pieces of wall around her. Suddenly a human brings a chair down on her in a misguided attempt to protect himself. She doesn't flinch at the blow and her scarlet eyes flick onto the man who shrinks away from her but all too late. Her lithe hand arcs out and grabs him by the throat and she crushes it without a moments pause the blood spraying from him coated her and she got a malevolent grin on her face as she seemed to rip something from his body. Her hand glows a little with the concentrated bits of the mans soul. She opens her mouth wide and shoves the light into her mouth. She twitched a little and licked at the blood on her hand as she turned to Dante and Vergil. She jerked her hand down violently and the blood rushed off her hand onto the floor and wall. She stepped out onto the street as maintained her smile there was still a good number of feet between her and the brothers but with her speed distance wasn't that important.

Vergil looked between Dante and the sultry woman with a smirk. "I don't think that's the same little girl you were babysitting." He stated smugly. Dante just sighed, looking to Ridel. "I told you I don't babysit." He replied, obviously annoyed. Vergil merely smirked and then turned to focus on the woman who's reiatsu was signaling every intent to attack them both. "Either way, it seems that we'll just have to put the main event on hold for this, won't we?" Dante merely scowled, not wanting to agree and also not wanting to harm what he still knew was Ridel, at least in a sense. "Yea, fine." He grumbled as both brothers raised their blades in anticipation of an attack.

Ridel's primal mind registered the blades and signaled for the activation of a doll who she rendered into a permanent form as a familiar core where it stayed in it's dormant state still usable, and perhaps more than it had been, as a weapon. The air around Ridel's grown up form seemed to distort as he arms seemed to darken, it wasn't long before the weapon materialized along the entirety of her arm and a rather demonic looking mask formed on her face. For a melee fighter like Ridel the insanely dense metallic arms were perfect, preparing her initial charge Ridel threw her reiatsu out to clearly mark her path of attack... straight on, it was an immeasurably minute amount of time in which she cleared the space in front of them too close for them to do anything but parry with a hope to counter.

User Image Dante turned from the aged looking woman that he had ranted off on a little more rudely than he should have to look over and roll his eyes to his brother who seemed to be making his leave at this point. Good riddance. Although, unfortunately, he really couldn't afford to miss that party either way. He really would have to go, a thought that made him sigh in annoyance. He hasn't seen her in at least a century. She was likely to be pissed as hell to say the least. And he really didn't want to have to deal with that. Not that he had much choice in the matter
User Image
Bahamut looked down at Effloresca and her twin brothers as they hugged and slowly separated. It seemed that judging by their reactions, the boys were absolutely overjoyed at the idea of going to this party and meeting their other 'relatives' of the Bount race. It has been quite some time really since even he has seen any other bounts aside from those present here and of course Vergil. He was a more frequent annoyance for Dante and even him sometimes as well. He simply started to walk along the floor towards the entrance that Vergil and his dolls had taken their leave from. He stepped out into the fading sunlight and stretched out his wings a bit while standing. It has been so long since he flew and it was making him a bit antsy.
User Image
Trish watched as Vergil and his dolls made their way out. She was a little let down that the cute one with the long silver hair was leaving as well but she'd never let that on of course. She instead turned her attention to the boys that ad begun to cheer at going to a party. Judging from what she had overheard so far, she could easily enough figure that Vergil was the one responsible and he was most likely taking advantage of the chance to reunite Dante with his age old friend.

She walked then over closer to the small family, her jet black heels clicking on the hard rock floor as she did so. She smiled a bit and still had her arms crossed over her chest. "Well, you guys are in for a real treat then boys. There's going to be plenty of other bounts and dolls for you to meet. Just try not to get lost when you get there. Vergil's place is pretty damn big, and that's assuming he hasn't expanded the place again."

Effloresca placed the boys on the ground looking to Dante, "Ready?" She asked. She certainly was. To leave that is. Go to this 'party', perhaps enjoy herself a little bit. She found that difficult to believe. Ifrit and the boys were the only real things keeping her going these days, other than maybe the prospect of future relationships. Her mind wandered to Vergil or when she thought of that, despite her best intentions not to. Flicking a bit of her hair back with a hand she dismisses the thought. Stupid, childish thoughts.

Ifrit shook his head and rolled his eyes at Effloresca. He knew what she was probably thinking, making those goo-goo eyes at the brothers Vergil and Dante. She always did go for those dark-side types. Walking the line and such. Bad-boys. He understood why too, she saw herself as the tough one. Take a hit and keep on rolling. Not afraid to get her hands dirty. But he also knew that she was extremely sensitive down deep inside. Fragile even. Ofcourse she hid it with her rough and tumble exterior, but there was no denying that she hurt much easier when it came to her emotions.

Sophie Looked at dante and said, "The Dragon in Bloom is close by." Before getting up and walking over to the twins and patting each of them on the head and then walked outside.

Both twins gathered up their dolls in their arms and each of them took hold of one of Effloresca's hands. They were too excited for words and so simply nodded.

Sophie sat outside the cavern and stared up at the sky, watching the clouds and listening to the wind. She had met three youngsters that day, and when she attended the gathering they would all get a chance to see her doll. Necro was as grumpy and elderly as a grumpy old human who hated visitors, but he was Sophie's only friend in the world. She knew though that she liked the hot headed young woman and her younger brothers. They were a cute little family, a family she hoped would accept her as a grandmother. She was of no relation to them, but she had her hopes and she had her dreams.

Ridel's senses perked as Dante stepped outside of the reiatsu concealing cave. It also saddened her a little, it meant that he had come to the remote little city and neglected to seek her out. Ridel shook her head her expression angering severely. "He's gonna pay for that..." She thought her small form trembling from the rage she felt at the moment. She could see the rocky mass that made up the Cavern and Leventhan sensing her wishes body shifted to accelerate the speed. Ridel broke the tree cover or more like Leventhan's massive 40 feet of length broke through and Ridel saw Bahamut. Leventhan stopped about twenty feet in the air and Dante was a good hundred feet away from this vantage point. "You may visit with Bahamut..." Ridel said to Leventhan, She noted the presence of the Judas, Tinker, Brutus, Gaia, Granny Sophie, and the faint presence of her doll Necro hovering about his medium, Effloresca, and Ifrit, but she didn't care about them at all She glared down at Dante and hopped off Leventhan's massive purple head landing easily, her long hair flowing in the wind and somehow managing to stay out of her eyes during the landing as well as the fall. "Dante..." She called over to him her anger was obvious as she reached into one of her pockets and pulled out a ribbon, Dante had given it to her to tie her hair up during battles, even from this distance he was sure to recognize it and knew that she meant for this to be a fair thrashing. She tied up her hair and Bridged the massive gap between them in an instant stopping ten feet away from him. Ridel had forgiven him when she first saw him, but he wasn't getting off the hook with her getting at least one good thumping in.

Leventhan watched as Ridel closed the gap between her and Dante before he could tell her what he thought of this whole thing. Reluctantly he drifted over the spot where Bahamut was and coiled himself up on the ground. "Hey Baha... How long do you think it'll last?" He said with a sigh, Leventhan and Bahamut had watched this scenario play out ten maybe hundreds of times in their tenure as dolls, and only rarely had they even had to intervene or even take part in the battle. This was just another number on the list, though this time Dante had done something to deserve the thwack Ridel was about to give them but they both knew she had already forgiven him, otherwise Leventhan wouldn’t have been told to stop his speedy charge toward the cavern.

User Image Dante cringed the moment he could feel a familiar spiritual pressure coming close very fast. It was her, Ridel Silverlake. He stomach turned over as he already expected her to attack him in outright anger for what he did about a century ago. He only had to look up after he heard the crashing of several trees around the forest nearby to confirm it. There was Ridel, riding atop Levanthan.
User Image
Bahamut opened his maw to yawn a bit from not moving around much when a familiar presence arrived. It was much more friendly that Vergil's, at least for him. Dante was in for hell right about now. Poor guy. The dragon only sighed and shook his head to each side. Then his buddy Levanthan floated down beside him to spectate the show, or rather the beating. Bahamut already knew how guilty Dante felt now and he would just stand there and let Ridel vent all she wanted. He looked over and shrugged. "Until she forgives him and calms down. I'm guessing she's really pissed this time to say the least."

Trish smirked at the sudden change of events. She hasn't seen little Ridel in ages really. She missed watching the constant little quarrels her and Dante would get into all the time. She just stepped back with her arms crossed and leaned back on a rock to watch and enjoy the show.
User Image
Dante heard her angry voice clearly and frowned immediately. He knew she was pissed this time and with good reason. Her speed did not surprise him in the least though, he was already familiar with that trait of her. He just turned to face her a somber sort of smile that showed his guilt quite clearly. He certainly did not expect, nor did he want any pity though. "Heh...Hey Ridel....Long time no see." He waved just a bit at her and waited for the part where she would vent.

He was going to let her rather than fight her. He felt like he deserved it anyways and letting her vent the way she wanted would at least make him feel a little better. He could easily tell she was serious when she donned the red ribbon he had given her himself a really long time ago, so long ago he couldn't even remember when exactly. It didn't matter though. He would just stand there and take it like a man.

Effloresca watched the exchange, sitting down next to Trish one leg over the other. She would have been worried about the new girl, another female bounto from what she could tell, if the girl didn't have the body of a twelve year old. Effloresca certainly had a much fuller body than her, the body of a woman in her prime. She looks back over her shoulder patting her lap as she gazed at the twins, an invitation of sorts for them to sit. A one time offer and they best believe it.

Ifrit, unable to make heads or tails of the situation, drags himself awkwardly over towards Bahamut and the other dragon. He felt like he was intruding so maintained his distance as he watched the exchange.

Brutus and judas looked at each other in disbeliefe but then rushed over and each brother sat on one of their big sister's thighs. They smiled up at her in a silent thankyou and then they put their dolls down.

Gaia climbed out of his flower pot and moved towards bahamut and the new doll. Once he was at the right distance he grew until his head touched the cavern ceiling and until his trunk was 2ft thick. He spoke, "So, Who are you? I am going to guess that you are a friend of Bahamut and athe partner of that girl out there?"

Tinker loved off of Judas's shoulder to the ground and moved himself over to next to Gaia and asked, "It would seem Dante has another young one who likes him, though in a different way. Our Bount partners, The two little boys over there, they look up to dante as a kind of father figure, but that is because they never knew their real father, and the truth is they have no memory of him, they're only 5 years old each."

Then each doll introduced himself. "I am Tinker..." "And I am Gaia."

Then outside the cavern a young woman of 19 in appearance approached. "It's been a long time Dante! Remember Me?!" She Shouted at him as she saw him and quickened her pace.

Ridel twitched a little when he spoke to her. "Long time no see..." Ridel thought as she smiled and rubbed her temples. "Oh boy... Long time... no see" She sighed with a lighthearted chuckle "I am now going to kill you." She continuing to smile at him, it seemed he was completely serious. Ridel shook her head the smile fading from her face and she balled her hand into a fist and cracked her knuckles the heel of her palm the place she applied the force from. In the same instant the first pop of the knuckle is heard Ridel seems to just appear in front of Dante her elbow, the one whose hand was getting its knuckles popped, smashed into Dante's solar plexus. The blow didn't move him but he doubled over having gotten the wind knock out of him, and his head being lower to the ground was what she wanted her right hand still balled in a fist from where she popped her knuckles she used her still open left hand, used to pop the knuckles, to grab his coat, and from there she lifted him off his feet, dropped him a few inches off the ground, and then punched him before his feet hit the ground, the blow smashed him in the gut once again and this time sending him crashing against the wall of the cavern. But that comment still raged in her mind, a hundred years all this sorry idiot can think to say is 'long time no see...' there was a lag of a second between Dante's hitting the wall and Ridel's arrival there to continue her 'venting'. She swung hard with her right and connected on the defenseless Dante stomach once again, it seemed that she was too short to really hit anywhere but there, and at least she seemed to not want to hit him where it really hurts. Ridel stops for a second and looks at Dante, he looked rather beat up and Ridel suddenly started to feel bad. Ridel took the few steps up to Dante and touched him lightly. Ridel stood there for a second and looked up at him, Ridel had taken it easy on him and he would only be a little winded so she hugged him. "Forgiven..." she said smiling at him genuinely. "But if you even say something that stupid to me again... I'm going to rip your head off and shove it somewhere that you'll wish you never find." She said cheerfully to him.

"Hm... Pretty light of a punishment for her" Leventhan said chuckling a little. "I hesitate to wonder what she'd do to him if she was ever serious about hurting him." Leventhan chuckled and then looked at the plethora of strangers who'd approached." He chuckled at Tinker. "Well little one maybe young not so much... she's over a thousand years old." Leventhan said to the dolls of the twins.

User Image Dante false, halfhearted smile faded when he saw her smiling despite her obvious anger. Hey was in for it now and he knew it even more when she said she was going to kill him. He didn't doubt that she would try at least. He sighed an d relaxed his body when she came right up to him with her freakish speed, a trait he knew all too well. He sighed to himself for a moment when she began, this was the part where he felt the worst.
User Image
Bahamut watched things play out as they did and turned to Levanthan after it had ended. "She still does, doesn't she?" He turned to the serpentine dragon and asked casually. Of course, he was referring to her feelings for Dante. If she didn't, she would not have stopped so quickly at those few hits that he was obviously not really horribly injured from, followed with a hug of all things.

Trish watched the show from her place on a rock besides Effloresca and the twins that went over to sit with her. She just grinned as if watching Dante get hit was her favorite thing to watch. Rather twisted for being his doll and all. She even cheered Ridel on in her mind a bit.
User Image

Dante frowned with guilt all over his face during Ridel's onslaught. It likely looked weird that a little girl was beating big 'ol Dante up. Not that it particularly hurt him physically of course despite the way it looked. Though he definitely hurt inside. And she did still manage to make a few bruises and take the wind out of his lungs when she did.

He grunted from her last punch to his stomach, making absolutely no effort to stop it or anything. When she looked up at him at first, he frowned still until she started hugging him to his surprise. He looked down as she told him he was forgiven and made a rather vicious threat if he told her anything stupid like that again. Talk about a bittersweet reunion.

Dante just sighed and put his arms around the tiny girl's back and hugged her back, feeling just a little bit better. "Alright, I'll remember that." He started to grin just a bit when he lowered his head to whisper to her. "I'm really sorry Ridel." He meant that too. After saying such, he stood up a little more straight then and smiled. "I guess we got a few decades of catching up to do then, eh?" He chuckled a bit, feeling plenty relieved at this point.

That was of course until Sapphire suddenly arrived as well. Unfortunately for him, Ridel never met the girl and given the way she had forgiven him and how much of her he knew about her, which was almost a millennium of knowledge, She would notice her soon and jump to horrid conclusions. He then felt a bit of dread when he realized that she might do the same to Effloresca and her brothers when she took note of them all. Oh god he would likely get a yelling at then.

Effloresca pats her brothers' heads as she watches the exchange between Ridel and Dante, unflinching even at the moment of impact. Though she bristles slightly at the hug. But she realizes that it was just one of companionship, there's no way he was with her. I mean look at her. She looks like she's twelve for gods-sake. It would be borderline ***** no matter her true age. She flicked her hair, quite angrily as she looked to Trish,"How long?" She asked motioning to the pair.

Ifrit sits and listens, remaining quiet. He wanted to know all he could before he voiced his opinions. Especially how they might react by their personalities. He always analyzed strangers, to see if he would like or trust them. It was in his nature.

Brutus and Judas slowly fell asleep where they were. Neither twin could keep his eyes open, they'd been awake for at least 15 hours and that was too long for any five year old.

Sappire watched the reunion with a small smile. Her big brothers were still getting into trouble. But she wasn't so little anymore. She cleared her throat and asked, "Miss, May I please hug my big brother now? I haven't spoken to dante in over 900 years. I left home when I was 12 because both Virgil and Dante would stop fighting one another. I thought they would have at least looked for me, but I was wrong. They didn't look at all. But that doesn't matter anymore as long as I can hug my big brother again and feel safe again." Then She looked at dante and said, "It's me big Brother, It's me, Sapphire."
