Gamma, ignoring Flare almost entirely, lurched forward and away from her. In one smooth movement Gamma's left hand flew to his right underarm and withdrew a fresh magazine, bringing his hands together as the empty dropped from the spent pistol and became loaded once more. By now he was moving in full stride for the drunk in the middle of the bar; the one waving around the hand cannon.

Midway Gamma did something his training in firearms told him chiefly not to. Brushing the trigger barely with his finger he set the internal slide to hot-load the first round of the magazine, stoping just short of unleashing hell in the form of iron slugs. Automag was loaded and ready to fire.

Which was quite contradictory to how it was about to be used. Presuming the drunk guy was facing off elsewhere and shooting at Jack, Gamma would heave himself into a forward strike. Rather, a forward pistol whip to catch the drunk in the side of the head. Aiming the bottom of the hard metal grip to bash in the side of his head; specifically the section of mandible bone just before his ear. With any luck, he'd have an extremely broken jaw and reel from the impact/pain off to the side.

Making with the momentum Gamma's left leg shot up to catch the man's torso with a knee. No real descriptor there, a lot of people can attest to how badly getting nailed in the gut sucks. Hopefully, he'd lean forward where Gamma's free left hand would seize him by the throat.

Pull him upright, then step behind him. Human shield GET.

Psionic energies would fizzle at small crystals inlaid in his hi-tech sunglasses, and that deadly calm came over Jack once more. It'd been eight months since he was in a firefight, and training was slowly starting to come back to him.

That shooting pain in his leg was a good reminder.

Jack listened to the firing, getting a feel for when bullets would land around or near him. He knew his allies didn't have firearms, so it was just a matter of following gunfire and ducking into cover. Clips dropped out, his hands swiped in teflon coated 15 rd clips, while he scooted behind a laid down chair behind the table for more cover.

There wasn't any firing.

Jack rose and looked to the last positions he'd seen Gamma and Gammu.

Both eyes open, watching friendlies move this way and that. Jack fired percisely at Gamma and Gammu. Gamma was going to take a drunk man for a shield, the man that had shot at him twice. One time hurting him. Jack wasn't beyond shooting through the man's stomach and into Gamma. Teflon coated rounds should easily get through a body.

Jack's other hand timed a round to come at Gammu after he would colide with Flare, aiming at a point on his body furthest from his ally. It wasn't to do any critical damage, just to inflict some pain.

After the couple of rounds Jack fired, he'd be ducking back down behind his cover and waiting for the sounds of return fire.

The sickening feel of his jaw sliding off where it shouldn't was enough, catching a knee too his potbelly and feeling vise-like fingers around his throat was near-overkill in terms of his limited stamina. He yelled in anguish, only to find his jaw displacing (even more) with a sickening crunch. His legs would have given out if it weren't for the man behind him using him as a shield.

By now he had dropped the knife and was struggling as hard as he could against the man holding him captive. He topped a weight of over 346 pounds, most of it being muscle asides from the belly. He fought as much as was humanly possible in his situation, yet he lurched as a bullet (or several?) pounded into him, easily tearing up his squishy organic belly. A lungshot. The impact(s) caused blood to be sucked up into his lungs with his next breath and expelled, and a thick dribble of blood soon ran down his chin.

Bucking bronco much?

((Fire at him, slit his throat, take him hostage, whatever. He's fresh kill waitin' for you guys))

And then Gamma did something he didn't expect. He went after some drunken jackass standing near the bar. Not only that, but he grabbed the guy and was in the process of attempting to hold him as some sort of hostage, Athan wasn't sure.

What he was sure of, though, was that a body coming from God-Knows-Where flew past his line of vision and (potentially) took Flare out, leaving no one standing between him and the person he had been wrestling with for the past ten or fifteen minutes. So Athan started to run forward...

And promptly fell on his face. With every single movement that little metal object within his leg threatened to tear or interfere with more muscle. So when he pushed himself up to his feet a second time, he was basically hopping up and down on his left leg, attempting to find some sort of method that involved him being able to move his leg without permanently damaging it.

Not an easy task, by any means. So he did the only thing that seemed fitting. He put his foot down...

...and grabbed a nearby chair. Whether or not a patron was seated in it didn't really matter at that point, and promptly threw it at Gamma and captive alike. It followed the same generic flight pattern that most inaccurate missles did. It wasn't going anywhere specific, but it was big enough that it would either clip somebody or hit them full on. And judging by recent studies, explode on impact before transferring its full intended force.

"Flare!"

A warning. It gave Flare barely enough time to brace herself, moving her right arm to protect her face and tightening her left-handed grip on her rapier. Gammu's body crashed into hers, knocking her over and onto the table she'd been crawling around under moments before.

Under their combined weight, the table toppled over onto its side, spilling both Flare and Gammu onto the floor.

It was entirely likely that he was somehow on top of her, and her sword arm was trapped against the table.

To remedy this situation, she set him on fire. Just reached her right palm toward him and let out a burst of flame, which would spread over his body and hopefully set something ablaze. These flames were fairly weak, though, and wouldn't hurt nearly as much as the ones she sent at Gamma. Still, it was fire, and it wouldn't be very comfortable to be in for long.

Gammu crashed into her, smashing through a table and coming to a conclusion with him pinning her down. Well that would be except Gammu would roll off of her and to his knees. Only to watch the blurred trail of a bullet streak right by his head and impact into a near by chair. Then the sound hit him and his left ear was left ringing. All and all it happened less then a ********. That's a twist."

Crouched as he was he looked from Jack to Flare.

"You need better allies on your team. That guy that shot your friend, he just shot at you. Good thing I crashed into you."

Was it true? Probably not; but then you had to be an idiot to shoot into a combat situation when your allies where in the line of fire. The fact that he had already hurt one of her team mates must be a point of hatred.

"Look, I got nothing against you. You seem all right; but we need to take care of the gun loon before we could have any fun. Getting shot in the back while fighting is just too anti-climatic. You agree don't you?"

The music may not have affected those still in melee, but Paul had fallen under his own spell and calmed his rage. However, he was still looking to end the fight.

Paul: No way to do this passively...might as well go on the offensive.

He drags his guitar case towards himself, pops open a compartment in the bottom, and pulls out...a blade of some sort. With deft and practiced motions, Paul fastens the blade to the left side of the guitar's body, making it almost literally an axe.

Paul: The sound quality's gonna be shot to crap, but I'll only have to worry about that if I'm trying to influence someone.

He moves to the side of the table, peering around its edge to see what's going on before making a move...

Now what was Owle supposed to do?

The Gams didn't look like they were going to kill anyone, so she wasn't about to use her powers again. She just wanted them to get out of her bar, dammit!

"Goddammit can't the two of you just leave!" she shouted mentally, the broadcast heard by anyone who wasn't too close to Jack. It would be obvious to the listeners that the two she meant were the Gams.

She was still a sparrow, still on the floor, and still chirping.

"True enough," Flare answered. "But I can't very well kill him. He'll probably back down if Owle asks nice."

Her crimson eyes swept over Gammu appraisingly. "Or we could take the battle outside, as the girl suggests. I doubt he would follow, and if he did I'd be happy to kill him."

((Okay, new posting order.

The post above this will count as the first, so the order is.

Flare.
Gams.
Trucker.
Jack.
Kuro.
Owle.

Considering Athan and Kalis aren't in combat any more; but they can throw themselves into the mix where they like.))

Gammu nodded his head slowly. He generally had to agree with her. He had fired the first bullet that had started this mess after all; but then if it hadn't been for the blue hair woman things wouldn't have escalated as far as they had. Sweeping his eyes across the place he narrowed them for a moment before turning back to Flare.

"I suppose we can do that; but I have one more thing I need to take care of it in here."

In one smooth action he dropped his knife, pulled his gun out and fired three iron slugs at speeds in excess of sound. Small belches of violet light accompanied the projectiles and they all impacted in Paul's guitar, destroying it utterly as he held it.

Holstering the weapon he picked up his knife and smiled at Flare.

"After you."

((I should be allowed to react to a direct attack on my character. That was an autohit. It was like saying: "Yeah, Paul responded by turning and decapitating Gammu with the shattered remnants of a guitar." Not cool.

Plus, I don't want anyone reacting to Paul sympathetically based on an action from someone who doesn't know the composition of the guitar.

No offense meant, Nihilistic. Having my equipment destroyed without any chance to react...pushes my buttons.))

((You entered into this without any reason. You brought it upon yourself. And follow the ******** posting order. Seriously you and Doomshot are such idiots it's no wonder everyone wants to see your characters killed.))
