.[.pink.spider.]. Amylin That interesting thing about symbolism is that, like with anything else involving FFVII, is that its hit and miss. And since the creators never truly admit to anything that can be considered debatable. So symbolism on both ends can be accepted or rejected easily as long as thus supports a side. And new symbolism can be created. A good example of such would be (I'll stick with astetics since its simple) the previous mention of red shades Aeris wears to represent present love to support Cleris. I have seen Yuffintine use this stance as well. This symbolism can be found in Cloti though because Tifa has red eyes and the eyes have more emotional ties in symbolism. Zaeris fans can also see the symbolism in that Aeris wears pink which represents fond memory attachments. Tifa wearing black and white is argued to portray moral conflict. Cloud wearing only one shoulder pad signs to others lack of mental stability, or Cloud having blue eyes that glowed showing a constant inner state of crying. Sephiroth wearing a cape the crosses an X over his chest suggests lack of heart/soul. Yuffie's green sweater shows greed. etc. All of these are considered FFVII symbolism, but all of these can be contradicted with symbolism from another side. Its interesting to see the different types of symbolism different people will see, but I do not except symbolism as a sign of anything because the only symbolism a person will see is the symbolism they end the end want to see. Feh... don't mind me... I'm being a sort of cermugin. whats a cermugin? sweatdrop ah of course it is all about the individual I guess : ]A silly old person... like the old man that screams at kids on the sidewalk to get off his lawn.

.[.pink.spider.]. oh thats great its nice to hear that! I started off as a cloudxaerith fan so ya! but thats great and yes there is so much symbolism between them it could make your head explode! whee there is even symbols showing that cloud and tifa are not meant for each other! but people try to put that to the side saying it doesnt mean anything which is just stupid if you have more I'd love to hear Yes yes! I do have more! For instance, why does Aerith have an umbrella for a weapon? Well, in Japan, if you write two names under a picture of an umbrella, it means eternal love or something to that degree. Also, Tifa wears all shades and tints of black, meaning angruish and mourning. It has nothing to do with love. This is just my opinion: In their childhood, Tifa ignored Cloud. Which is more or less, bullying. Now, Cloud hasn't forgotten what Tifa had done to him. She put him through Hell and back. Now, why would Cloud love someone who bullied him?

no I agree but then this is my perception as well The colors that Aerith and Tifa wear are also culturally significant to the Japanese. Aerith wears different shades of red. (Remember that pink is actually considered a shade of red to the Japanese). There is a word in Japanese, “ko itten”, which means "touch of scarlet." The phrase is used as an affectionate term for women, especially Geisha girls. The use of the color red in dress and makeup is very significant to Japanese society. Red is denoted as a color of beauty and happiness. Red is also thought to be erotic to men. It is considered to be a sensual color, and can be associated with man's most profound urges and impulses.
Compare this to Tifa, who wears different shades of black, since gray would be considered a shade of black in Japan. To the Japanese, black can stand for mourning as well as for cheerless occasions. For example, traditional garb for a funeral is black and white, with black representing the loss. When used by itself, black can represent bad luck or misfortune.
and yes of course the bullying. square was even going to add a part where cloud is still unhappy about that snd tells tifa! Cloud was actually the subject of "ijime", or bullying, from Tifa and her friends. These articles state that victims of "ijime" are ignored, ostracized, and humiliated. This is exactly what happens to Cloud during his childhood. Some people don't believe Tifa bullied Cloud because they are looking at this from a NA perspective. However, in Japan, it is a well-known fact that children wish to fit into a group. Cloud was excluded from Tifa's group. Tifa participated in his exclusion willingly. According to the Japanese, Tifa was guilty of subjecting Cloud to "ijime".
but I dont want anyone arguing or debating on this since its opinions : D
