Shadow looked at the two men infront of him, and the soldiers down the other end of the street.
"so what are you guys up too then" he said as he smiled, Shadow felt much better now as his headache had gone, but his stomach was still abit iffy
Shadow sat down, cross legged and lite up a cigerate.....

Katrea looked around the guards started to get up and dry themselves from the freak flood. Katrea tried to find the sorce of the water. There was a man just sitting there, it may have been him.
"What did that, Was it you?"
Katrea was not really worried about the water but more about how he was bested at a fight again. What was wrong with him, he kept loosing, maybe he was just losing his touch or maybe he couldn’t get any stronger for some reason.
"Oh, I don’t even care. Avalus where are you knight?"
katrea completely ignored the man smoking on the floor he was to angry about the fight. Dragging his sword as he moved katrea looked down, his clothes they where all ripped up and now water dripped form his body, his wrappings where also coming loose. katrea leant on the wall and his vision started to blur. Two men in armour came up to him and lifted him by his arms on their shoulders.
"We’ve got you and you don't seem like the type to go back on his words so, come see the queen."
"Its not like he could. Look his got no strength left in him, what’s this guy been doing?"
"urr yeah ok I’ll see your queen"
Katrea said out of all energy now.

After Shadow had finished his cigerate two soldiers were picking up one of the two men he had attacked, Shadow felt guilty about the attack because it was abit of a cheap shot and not really his style.
He walked up to the soldiers that were picking the man up and said "i'm a doctor and this man is clearly injuryed i must help him" while crouching down and inspecting the man.
The two soldiers said they were taking him too the castle to see the queen but Shadow quickly segusted that he should rest before seeing her, as it looked like he could barely stand.
The soldiers looked at the other man. most probabley waiting for orders. Shadow assumed this was Avalus, as they were cheering for him.
"let me help him" said Shadow to the assumed Avalus "i know a healing technique that could help him, and its the least i can do to repay you, plus i'll buy you guys a pint too and it on me" while staring at the soldier at he stole the wallet off...............

Avalus stood upright shaking the water out of his armor.
"I'm glad i saw that and who exactly are you coming here attacking us and then attempting to heal us even though it was your doing.Plus i saw you steal that guards wallet"
The guards fumbled in their pockets at this remark
"Hey"
one of them shouted.
"Anyhow if you wish to then you can see to this boy he a very strong and worthy adversary."
Avalus wiped his brow the water had cleaned the blood from his forhead but now it began to bleed again blood smeared across his forehead.

"No, i am ok"
katrea demanded as he pushed of the soldier and stood upright. he them slotted his sword back into his holder and walked up to Avalus and said.
"i will keep my word. In any case it was not the water that hurt me most. Lets go. oh and stranger, ill keep an eye on you don't you worry"
katrea then limped to the main gate and waited for it to open and let him in he just rested against the wall as he waited.

Shadow Just stood there as the man stared at him and said something about keeping an eye on him, shadow thought this was funny as the man only had one eye and if it was on him then small objects on the floor would become a challenge for him.
Shadow shouted "The names Shadow kid, and if you focused in battle you may have more of an impact" as the man walk to the main gate.
Shadow turned to Avalus and said in a calm voice "i'll tag alone with you guys for abit, you have some talent and i like that" Shadow started walking to the main gate, the sun was setting, then Shadow said "weird kid where'ed you find him"(chuckles) and continued to walk to the main gate while lighting a cigerate.........

as Avalus unlocked a door to the side of the gate, a lot of guards gathered around katrea and this shadow man. it was made clear they where not trusted and katrea didn’t trust this shadow at all, but hadn't made up his mind about the knight and his men, they seemed to have a lot of honour and pride about them. katrea walked into the courtyard once again but this time a group of black mages stood there around a women with long blonde hair and blue eyes with a white dress that draped over the ground from the doorway.
"what is it you wanted from me miss?"
as katrea said this the knights all fell onto one knee to greet the women and he didn’t understand but then it all seemed obvious why her words were all they needed and why katrea felt rude for just standing there. katrea did the same as the knight and got on to one knee and he looked out at the queen as she walked over to him and said in a happy way.
"No Katrea, please stand its ok, you shouldn’t fear this place it should be like a home to you and all thoughs that fought to protect it when the evil of the orb came her."
"What! what do you mean, you know my name and say i did these things but i don't recall any of it. the last i remember was not even on this continent. are you sure I am the same man, i mean look at me, I am as dessert hunter that is all."
"no, you must remember Katrea, i remember you , for the way you stand to the way your eye shows sadness from a past of pain, but it still shows a love and compassion of others."
"but i don't remember."
"i see well would you like to?"
"What does that mean?"
"There is some one very close to you that has joined my royal knights the queens knights, she could help you i think and if the man that destroyed the orb aided by holy and hope of gaia was working for my peoples protection and mine, that would make me happy."
katrea thought about the offer and he did want to join the knights and if this was to be his home, protecting it would have far more meaning then what he had been doing for the past year.
"thank you, I except."
"Avalus my trusted friend, would you take katrea to your home and to the other knights to train in the ways of a queen’s knight please. i will go now, i wish you luck katrea and i hope you find out your past and maybe some of the great things your friends did for you then"
the queen walked off with the dress trailing behind her slowly and the black mages followed as she walked away. a lot went through katreas mind, one thing mostly, what friends, did he ever have friends? and what was it that had made some kind of hero, he had woke after it so was he still that man? was this katrea a hero really? the sand hunter that kneeled on one knee now or was he just a man that looked like him and did that man in black he met long ago in the dessert know his past too? what did katrea really under stand anymore.

Avalus had dropped to his knees and bowed and was now standing up.
"Your majesty how do you trust this man who is he?"
Avalus then thought to himself after his outburst
"A queens knight follows the queens order to the dot so be it. Come Katrea was it I shall Take you to the other knights there is another stationed within the city walls. The others are out out on missions or over on asureia island training new recruits. That is also where my home is but first I will take you to see Gakchou"
It was then that avalus remembered the stranger.
"As for you. you can follow us as you wish while we are in arvadia but if i catch you attacking people out of knowhere again you'll be sorry"

katrea nodded and took one more look at the queen before following Avalus out of the courtyard, but he did ask himself this as he walked, why did the queen trust him, was he really all that great to this city?
"Avalus, what do you know about the shadow orb fight. tell me please, i only know what rumours have spread over the land."
katrea looked at the other wall that he could just see, past all the buildings. the repairs to the outer wall were from that day, it didn't seem like much of a victory.

Shadow followed Avalus into the room after he unlocked it where the queen and aload of mages, the guards surrounded Shadow and katrea. Then everyone fell to there knee for the queen, but not Shadow as he was standing there with his arms crossed cigerate still in his mouth.
Shadow watched as the queen and Katrea talked but Shadow wasn't listening. A few minutes had past then Avalus starting saying something, Shadow snapped out of his daydream and said "sounds fair" with no idea of what he was agreeing to or if it was even a question.
Shadow decided to hang with Avalus and Katrea as he was hoping they would help him defeat the Dark Knight, but he decided to ask them about it when he was in there good books.
While smoking in the courtyard next to Avalus, Katrea came outside and ask Avalus a question about a fight, Shadow still wasn't completely listening but then decided to blerted out "Why don't we talk about this down the bar, what do ya say and i do owe you guys a pint or two"........

Avalus looked at his machina timepiece. It ticked to 6pm
"Excellent I'm off duty but remeber just cos I am off duty doesnt mean i still wont be keeping an eye on you stranger."
Avalus looked at shadow while saying this.
"And as for you we will head to my home tommorow at midday. I will tell you what I know once we reach a quiet place I will have the barkeep take us to a backroom for some privacy."
Avalus hoped that he could answer some of the young mans questions but avalus himself did not know much as a great deal had been hidden from all those that were not there to witness it
"Let us make haste I must wet my lips"

"ok, that’s fine. i am kind of tired anyway."
katrea walked with the group into the bar and the barkeep saw Avalus he bowed and led them to a back room that was small but it looked nice and had some candles lighting it. katrea sat down first his legs ached from all he had been doing. katrea took his sword from his back and laid it next to him, there was lots of scrapes on it and some cracks. that fight had done more then he had thought but it was ok, if this home of Avalus was a great training place for knight it should have a blacksmith.
a man came over asking for orders and katrea said
"ill take some rum with ice."
katrea lent back on the chair it was soft and almost like a sofa and two of them were around the low wooden table.

Shadow walked to the bar with Avalus and Katrea while smoking.As he followed them into the bar he stubbed his cigarette out on the no smoking sign outside.
Shadow went to the bar and asked for the strongest beer, then noticed the bar maid was hot, so he continued to talk to her as Avalus and Katrea walked into the back room.
Shadow asked the bar maid "Can i smoke in the back room?". She replied while leaning towards Shadow and alluringly running her finger across the rim of a glass "Course you can sweetie" Shadow slipped a twenty in her cleavage, then walked out back trying not to spill his beer.
Shadow sat down next to Katrea put his feet on the table and lent back with a beer in one hand and cigarette in the other......

Avalus sat in the backroom he had no need to order it would be brought to him. Just as he thought this the lady behind the bar sttod up to the small section of the bar that sat in the back room.
"Heres your rum and ice sir she passed it to katrea. dont worry the first rounds on the house. Also heres your usual uncle Avalus."
A large Vodka was placed onthe table
"Have fun guys dont get too drunk I dont wanna have to drag you back to quarters again uncle or your freinds"
"Psssh dont worry about that we have much to discuss although by the looks of him you'll have to watch this one"Avalus pointed at shadow
"Also Shadow next time you try to impress a lady try more than 20 gil you cheapskate"

katrea took a mouth full of his drink and then put it down on the table. he then looked over at Avalus.
"tell me about the fight with dark tail. all i hear is from the rumours. dark tail, a fox man used a great power and killed many people and then a group of people stopped him, end of story. Also i know he was killed and the Shadow Orb, if it really existed, too."
katrea got right to the point if he was some how linked to this story he wanted to know.
"Tell me what you know."
