They can take your DNA after they kill you but you can only be "converted" when a Stealer makes you carry their child. Btw when I get a chance I think Im gonna post a few pics of my Tyranid Kill team. Each member has a diff paint scheme

I put Nids and Chaos in the same catagory; spikes all over the place, and completely unpredictable.

tyranids aren't unpredictable, they always follow the same style of advance across the galaxy, and always use the same methodical assault plan against worlds

In the end, Tyranids win, and eat everything, except all the stuff in the Eye of Terror and the Maelstrom and all those Warpspace/realspace overlaps, because things like this happen whenever they try: *Hive fleet drifts along, coming to a planet, and begins to make preparations to consume it's precious biomass* *planet turns around, opens up like a giant Pac-man and eats the entire fleet.*
