Spiders.
I run away screaming then my fiance comes and kills it for me. XD
Stepping off the bed at night with the light off.
I used to have this cat, this cat liked ot hide under by bed or in my closet when I was a kid and chew off my ankles when I got up in the middle of the night to go pee.
The cat died years ago and I still won't step off the bed if it's night time unless I have my fiance turn the light on first. XD

If the poison takes affect before your powers, then your screwed, got to have time to mutate. It'd depend on which one would take hold first.

Depends on the level of mutation, it could range from proportional spider strength, web spinning, wall crawling, could also depend on the type of spider, maybe poison immunity or poisonous, jump power, if it's a trantula maybe hair projectiles.
