Everything seemed to click in the Doctor's head at that moment, and he finally connected the Tarot cards to Larry's daughter. He gaped for a bit, then hastily unbuttoned his jacket and took out the death card that had plagued him. He wanted to be rid of it, but to have a child in exchange...?

With a deep breath he extended his long arm, holding the card, as he did so his sleeve drew back and revealed the viscious human bite marks and slashes covering his hand and arm. Seveirn pretended not to notice his self-inflicted wounds, and kept his eyes trained on the floor.

"My good sir, your file was certainly interesting to read. I thought it some sort of joke or fantasy, but I see now that it's all quite true." As he spoke, Igor drew a mirror from behind one of the cushions, cleaning the surface with the sleeve of his robe. "I wonder what you shall do with this child...or even more interesting, what the child shall do with you. After all, he is nothing more than that part of you that you attempt to hide from this world."

Setting the mirror aside, Igor turned to a strange device made of wire and ceramic. Placing one part of the machine to his ear, he ran his fingers over a series of buttons on the machine's face, and then began speaking to someone who was not in the room.

"Hello...? Ah, yes. ...Hmm? Well, you always have your doubts, my friend, but I assure you that it will be fine. ...Do not question the word of Philemon. It is as he commanded. ...Very well, you must hurry, though. Do not keep our dear doctor waiting, hmm?"

Candle in hand Feyd had barely exited the storage room when he heard it, a knock, someone was knocking. Why someone would be knocking at this hour he didn't know. Nor did it strike him as strange that he could hear the knock from his position, after all it was a day for strange happenings.

Blinking back sleep the actor dutifully went to the heavy door and undid the latch to peer out into the gloom. A glance told him it wasn't a member of the theater, and therefore a potential customer. With the politest face the sleepy Feyd could muster he greeted the stranger, "G'evening, may I help you?"

Dr. Severin parted from the card, and swiftly shoved his sleeve over his exposed skin. "If only it were fantasy..." he whispered very quietly under his breath, his pupil dilated in fear. He forced his mind to calm and think reationally, but he could feel the panic welling up inside him, and he whispered under his breath. Unintelligble words, but there was deifnitely something wrong.

Finding himself once mor eon the verge of a psychotic break, the doctor had to fight to keep himself from losing control. He couldn't do such a thing around these people.. Or were they even there? His eyes flitted around the room, yet nothing came out of the shadows... His eyes fell on the man at the piano, and the woman singing.. and their music slowly began to settle his panicking mind.

As the conversation concludes, Igor turns his attention back to the mirror he drew from beneath the cushions. Taking the Tarot Card, he holds it close to the surface of the mirror until the card is suddenly swallow into the glass, small ripples forming around where the card disappeared.

Suddenly, the light in the room fades, darkness creeping from the corners of the room. As the darkness grows more prevalent, the music of Nameless and Belladonna also weakens, until it is nothing more than the shadow of an echo.

Darkness mutes the room for minutes, then the faintest glow appears above, near the ceiling of the chamber. The appearance of the glow is accompanied by whispers, and more lights that possess shapes. These spirits begin to mingle, dancing and entwined with each other. However, a particular spirit, its glow weak and haunted in shadow, descends upon the inhabitants of the Velvet Room. As it approaches, it touches the doctor with chills, and says in a dark voice:

"Hahaha... The little man denies me, yet I am the deepest part of him. Are you afraid? I will join in your journey for a little while; I do hope that you will not bore me."

The voice is suddenly cut off as Igor summons the spirit into a wooden box in his lap. Wavering, as though attempting to resist, the spirit finally flies into the container. Snapping the lid shut, Igor takes a puff of his pipe, waiting.

Slowly, the spirits above dissolve back into shadow and light returns to the room. Nameless and Belladonna continue to sing, as though the room had not been just visited by beings from another realm.

Lifting the lid of the wooden box, Igor reveals an infant inside.

As the dark fell around them and the claming music faded, the Doctor felt his heart speed up, but he remained frozen, his eyes focussed on nothingness, during the entire length of the darkness. At the arrival of the mysterious glow, and the sudden whispers, he nearly loses his composure, was he hallucinating again? Were these spirits back to plague him as they did when he had a fit?

No..no.. They are as violent as the delusions that visit him usually, these bits of darkness don't rear up at him in an attempt to harm him. They don't wail as the others do... Then the voice hit, and Oddssen could almost bear no more.
"Afraid..." He echoed, his voice strained and painful in his throat.

As if he had no control of his body, the troubled man walked forward to peer into the box, and met the startling eyes of his son. For.. that was what lay there, was it not? Severin felt a twinge of worry and followed an urging whisper in his mind to lift the still child from the wooden box, that reminded him so much of a coffin. With the Babe of Death nestled in his wounded arms, Severin felt a strange and alien emotion sweep over him, and he was reminded of his younger sister whom he had loved and cared for... Who had been taken by Death that this child represents.

Yet... he felt no anger, nor hate, towards the sleepy infant. He only felt a strong compelling urge to care for him and keep him safe...

There was something human in the cannibalistic monster, afterall.

After only a moment of hesitation Feyd nudged the door wide, holding his candle away from the wet he motioned for the women to enter the theater. Adopting the manners of every host he'd ever played Feyd spoke graciously, "If you want a room the kitchens would be best, they're warmest. As for payment, there's no need." He added the last bit with a genuine smile against his mask of politeness.

Feyd started at the touch of her hem, not only from the wetness of the fabric but the strange sensation that accompanied it: voices, speakers from every direction. He could make out no specific words but after the woman passed and the voices faded the actor was left with the distinct impression he had been in the midst of multiple conversations.

Understandably surprised Feyd spent the next few moments glancing about the rather empty room until the fortune teller's voice finally regained his attention. Dutifully he gestured towards the kitchens, turning to lead the way as he replied, "The kitchen is always quiet at this hour, as for your fortune telling... I would be honored." Normally Feyd might had declined, brushed off the offer and gone to bed, but the voices had caught his interest, intrigued him-- he was quite interested in what the stranger would do next.

Nudging the kitchen door wide he glanced to his guest, "Do you have a name?"

Nekura flashed Ayira a wide smile, "...Ayira...I can tell you have a soul everytime I look in your eyes..." he stated to her and then smiled up at the ceiling, "...And...that leaves us as friends and work associates since I will be living and working here...You will be gaining a small portion of my profits...or potions and such to play with the guards."

Zasar stepped out into the streets, taking a moment to straighten his vest, and casting a faint glance around. "Some'er safer, peh'aps?" if this was truely the target of the scum of the city, then surely it would be best to wander elsewhere. The sea captain smiled tiredly. "I don't leave me ship, 'r theh docks too of'n." with that, he was somewhat unfamiliar with the rest of the city.
Mercy eyed him a moment as to size up the situation, "You look a bit woren Capt'n, it would be best if you were head back to the docks, then?" She stretched her arms and yawned a moment and with a shake of her head, she turned back to the Zasar, she appear wide awake, "As an insomiac I don't usually tread in a world of dreams and such." She let the whip drag as she took steps in a circle as if to figure out what to do, " You could always look for another place to sleep, Rumswell? it is near but I doubt any saver then anywhere else, as people will always want to make you miserable somehow." She flashed her teeth a moment in what appeared to be a growl and then smiled softly at Zasar, "So what shall it be? I'll escort you anywhere you think will help. Better then to be alone."

“Pro’ly.” The captain rolled his shoulders before stretching his arms above his head, producing an audible popping sound. It was getting a little late, and Zasar was becoming quite sleepy.

“Aint it some’t boring? Dreams’re a nice place teh escape teh fum time teh time.” He raised an eyebrow at the thought. Arms still raised above his head, he lowered them, tilting said head to one side and removing his hat to ruffle pepper grey and white hair in thought before replying. “Neh, ‘d much rather stay ‘n me ship then ‘ny land space.” With that, he replaced his hat.

Mercy nodded as she thought about what the lack of dreaming could mean, "I might miss the place if I could remember it." She chuckled at the lack of a break. She looked back and forth and took a step in the opposite direction of the hidden restraunt/pub.

She turned back around, "Since I am not familiar with the docks or ships, I think that it would be more appropriate if you lead the way." She was coilling the whip around her as if it were a reptile of sorts.
