Maybe half an hour after Chantico had said that Morgan was utterly complacent. Not really asleep, but listening to Aes and pushing when needed. She wasn't crying out, which seemed out of place given the situation, but it was evident that Morgan was struggling.

Rivven was feeling exhausted again by this point, but in this case he thought that was natural, not the drugs wearing off. Though they probably will within another hour or two. Damn. I need to track down Quintilius quickly after this.
It had been quite a while since it started, and he had no more idea when to expect it to finish than he had had then. All Rivven could do- knew to do- was to stand by Morgan and try to provide some level of comfort without disturbing her or the doctor. Difficult, since she apparantly did not want him touching her in the least at this point.

Chantico felt so bad about what had happened, but there was nothing else she felt she could have done. Had it helped? Well... and then it started to happen. Aes noticed it too, and frantically yelled for her to get over, as he spread out the towels. Morgan was feeling it, and Chanti decided to release her hold.

The minute Chantico et go Morgan was back to full on screaming. She was in too much pain to even bother threatening Aes or Rivven. Suddenly, there was less pressure on her. Her body still ached most painfully, but a baby's cries now matched her groans.

The fact that he knew what he was swaddling was a girl didn't help him from bringing up old memories. But he felt the same deeply satisfied feeling that he recieved after all succesful deliveries, and managed a smile for both Rivven and Morgan (although Morgan was most likely glaring at him). "Mrs. and Mr. LeFaye Dilys, I present to you your child." he laid her in Morgan's arms.

Rivven sighed in relief, and his body went slack with all his worry suddenly flooding away. Or, most of it. He still didn't know if he should take a step nearer to Morgan's side and be there with her and the child, or back off and give her space.
((I'll have to fill you in on a joke about something Rose said when she backread a few days ago sometime when your msn is back up.))

Knowing Chantico and himself were hardly needed now, Aes packed up quickly and began to usher Chanti out with him. "If you need anything, when Morgan has the strength she can broadcast to me, or You could stop by a clinic to call in Chanti." and they left.

(( You could just PM it to me))
Why did she feel so sad? Morgan was in awe of her supposed son of course but at least held it properly despite how she felt......and yet there was this almost overwhelming sense of grief. She felt like she wanted to cry.

Rivven watched as the others left, silently for a second. He wiped thick sweat from his forehead. More than there should have been, even though things like this made him sweat like normal people, just not excersize and heat.
"Morgan...?" he said gently, stepping up beside her, but not laying a hand on her or the child yet.

She blinked away tears, but moved to nurse the child and hopefully get it to stop crying so much. "What is it?" she asked, but despite the words, it wasn't harsh "We never picked a name for him..."

"Morgan..." in an affectionate voice. Rivven smiled gently and laid a hand on her shoulder, glad her reactions to his attempt to, well, more or less just be there, were met less adversely this time. It was a few silent moments just smiling and standing there before he said "That's right, we didn't. But..."
"You know, I can feel it now, just a trickle. The child's chakra. There isn't much, it's just born, but it's there. And well, Morgan... the chakra..." He took a deep breath, and was silent for a moment, feeling at it and trying to be absolutely sure before he spoke.
"I think we have a daughter."

That's right, it seemed that Ki was the equivaent of a recessive gene. A dying power source, which was a pity to her because she knew it meant she would never be able to broadcast to..... wait. "A girl?" she blinked back some sweat that was starting to get into her eyes "That's not right. Can't be."

"I don't know how it could but..." he frowned, and took his sleeve, carefully wiping the sweat remaining on her forehead away, and then kissing it softly. "It's what it feels like but... I suppose I must be wrong. I don't know what would confuse me to think so though..."

She didn't have the strength to argue, and she felt so beaten inwardly. Morgan didn't understand that, even though she hadn't wanted her first pregnancy she was still happy once the child was in her arms. Anyways "You could check."

Rivven paused, looking at the child with a renewed sense of wonder as he carefully lifted it, cradling it carefully in his arms. A rather goofy grin spread across his face as he just held it for a moment, before he moved one hand, and lifted the cloth wrapped around it for just a moment.
Laying the child gently back into Morgan's arms, wrapped again, and coming to his knee beside the bed to put him roughly on level with her. "I don't understand it at all. But we have a daughter." he wasn't smiling any less, and leaned in to kiss Morgan's cheek gently.
"So, do you know any good names for girls?"
