Just got back from seeing Doom. The only Computer game based movie that is both enjoyable and relates to the games.
Go watch it, if you make it through to about 30 minutes to the end, you will be rewarded with some superb cinematography (especially if you are a fan of the games ^_^)

STARRRRS! Oh, wait, SOULS!
Did it use the proper names for the monsters? I hated it when peopled made up s**t names for them when they were just called stuff like Pinky, Imp, Lost souls and stuff.

They didn't really call them anything other than beasts/demons/monsters.
There was a chacter called pinky and he turned into a pinky but other than that, no luck on the naming front. Plus, the characters that were supposed to be imps didn't hurl fireballs... which was kinda disappointing. But watching the beggining of the film is just so worth it to see the First Person View section of the film ^_^

Saw the Silent Hill movie on Saturday night with Hana. Very cool. Most fans of the games (minus elitists and people who don't realise it isn't supposed to be exactly like the first game) should love it. Hana is a huuuuuge fan and she loved it. My silent hill knowledge is not huge but I love the style and feel of the games. I'm too scared to play them though! xD I loved the film too. It had it's flaws, such as some of the dialogue and Sean Bean's character seemed largely superfluous and tagged on, which in fact he was, as he wasn't in the original screenplay. He was added because there were originally no major male characters and it was necessary to get the OK. Overall though, it's awesome. Hands down the best video game to movie adaptation ever!
I'm not sure how they managed to get a 15 cert... it came the closest to scaring me a movie has done in a long time! And I love my extreme cinema. I guess given that the source material scares me it's not that surprising though! Games for me are a better outlet for the horror genre, because it's more interactive, the closest you can get to experiencing it first hand.

Silent Hill the movie to Silent hill the game, is as, Resident Evil the movie to Resident Evil the game.

How is Hana by the way? Still concealing her love for me as good as ever? So good in fact most people believe it not to be there - I don't know why that could be though... xp

POTC2:
Good fun but ~
*The end is SO FRUSTRATING. *The constant self referencing REALLY annoyed me. *Rehashing the old jokes but making them s**t. *Why did they feel the need to bring back the ENTIRE cast from the first movie?!
Other than that I enjoyed it and I loved the look of the crew of the Flying Dutchman... apart from the Hammerhead dude. He just looked dumb.
