"Might I ask how I am to blame for this unfortunate accident?"~

"Yeahhhh! Accident! My eye!" Lin protested, wagging a claw at the new ghoul. "I'm not as dumb as I look! I saw it all! That rotten Harry sicced his hounds on the SKRM team and you tried to help him round them up for a fast getaway..."

Harry had mumbled thanks to the ghoul who helped him up before slipping away.

Lin saw Harry take off and pointed after him...

"See!? See!? He's making his getaway and leaving you hanging! Boo! Boo!"

Essi turned her head and wouldn't you know it, this manster was leaving her to blame! "Hexcuse me sir! Could you please not exit without an expl-" She was cut off by some weird boo's chanting off. She covered her horns to their noise. "Perhaps they know something?" She asked Lin. "I assure you that this situation came about as sudden for me as everyone else here..."

"Our plan worked!" Hexavier jumped up and down in celebration with his trom-bone.

"Our BRILLIANT plan!" Moldy's bones practically rattled as he danced in glee. Corps-E didn't say anything because he was too busy swaying his hips to some imaginary music.

These were some of the oddest students at Monster High. They stopped dancing when they came to a stop in front of Coach Clawd.

"Well, with the team captain out of order, looks like YOU need to put somemonster else on the team!" Hexavier pointed out. Clawd growled warningly, but the New Dead did not take the hint. "So give me my helmet and my skates, I'll take her place!"

Clawd crossed his arms and gave Hexavier a glare.

"Not. A. Chance." He said resolutely. "And you know why? Because, you, Hexavier, are in the pep band. Which means YOU have to play with the rest of the band during the match!"

"What?! But I-....I...." Hexavier's shoulders fell. He was defeated by sound logic! He played his trom-bone in sadness.

*Whomp Whomp*

"Awwwwwww, no! That won't stop ME!" Corps-E Tinypants finally spoke up. "The only instruments I have are my instruments...of destruction HA HA HA!"

Corps-E wiggled his hips and showed off the ginormous muscled thighs coming out of his tiny pants. Clawd scowled again.

"Nope. No way you're getting on the team, Corps-E. You KNOW that those tiny pants you wear aren't regulation attire for the SKRM team!" Corps-E nearly jumped through the roof of the cavern in protest.

"What! But I-NO FAIR! I will not wear more appropriate pants! I refuse!" He ranted and raved, but Clawd just shook his head. He would not take Robecca's place on the team either. Corps-E growled.

Moldy stepped forward last. He had a giant grin on his rictus-infected face. He knew that there was no such hexcuse to keep HIM off the SKRM team.

"Guess there's only one option left, coach! And that's me!" He poked his sunken-in chest proudly. Clawd looked at him coldly.

"No. You're not going to be on the team either."

"What?!" Moldy hissed. "You HAVE to put me on the team! You have no other choices left, coach!"

"You bet I do!" Clawd straightend up to his full height. He towered over the New Dead clan. "Because SHE asked to join the team before all three of you!!!!"

Clawd pointed....at Necrolin Rosin Ni Blue in the bleachers! Several of the team gasped.

"BUT SHE'S NEVER EVEN SKATED ONCE!" Moldy shrieked.

"That's right!" Clawd replied. "And I'm not even sure hexactly how that works when you have a mermaid fin instead of legs. But I'd rather have an unknown, unproven POLITE mermaid on the team than any of you three rude, obnoxious, scheming Draugrs!"

"This...THIS IS NOT OVER! It's not over, not by a long shot!"

"That's right!" Hexavier joined Corps-E in glaring at Clawd. "It's not over!"

Then, a giant ringing sound interrupted the boos argument.

"Oh, it's over, all fright." Clawd replied, turning away from them. "Because that was the bell to end class. It's lunchtime. Practice is over."

As all of this was taking place, Atomica was edging closer and closer to the bleachers. She gave Necrolin a pleased look and a big THUMBS UP.

Atomica knew she'd be CLAWESOME at recruiting talent for the team! Just like she was clawesome at everything else.

Kai stepped in between Lin and Estrella.

"C'mon, Lin. It's her first day at the school. Could you cut her some slack before you start a blood feud with her?" Kai asked the gremlin earnestly. "Why would an alien from....somewhere far, far away be working with Granite City in the first place? They're a gargoyle-only school!"

Lin's eyes narrowed....but he took a step back.

"I'm just sayin' that these 'brand boo' students all seem pretty suspicious to me, that's all."

To his credit, Kai didn't roll his eyes. Lin was always ready to start a fight with monsters bigger than him....and basically EVERY monster was bigger than him. Kai turned to Essi.

"Hey, sorry about that. Nobody here thinks you're conspiring to take down the SKRM team....besides Lin, at any rate." He addressed Essi, Astrid and Nekki all together. "The bell's going to ring in just a second-"

And then the bell rang.

"-So how about we take this tour to the Creepateria and have lunch?"

Lin pointed two claws at his eyes, then pointed the same two claws at Estrella, warning her that he was going to keep an eye on her -- maybe even two if he could spare `em!

He then turned and skidaddled over to where Gryff and Atomica were waiting for him.

"So! What are our lurch plans? We going to the creepateria or eating in the Lair?"
