"Alaia wishes to join the fight and protect Hogwarts!" The house-elf shouts as she joins the battle. She immediately attacks a mini-merman, only to miss completely and get attacked. Squeaking, she hides behind a rock.

Alaia, after catching her breath and building up her courage, cautiously poked her head from behind the rock and with all her might, threw an algae-ball at the mini-merman, who seemed to be taunting her.

Still doing her victory dance, Alaia the house-elf throws another algae ball at another mini-merperson.
Alas- the victory dancing threw off her aim and she only manages to graze the mermaid's arm. It is still hurt, but that only makes it angrier! Terrified, Alaia runs for cover shouting "Don't hurt the house-elf!"

Suddenly, Alaia stops. She shouldn't be running from the mini-mermaid, she should be protecting Hogwarts! She ducks behind another rock - just to be safe - and throws another algae-ball at the mermaid.
Yes! She hit it! The mermaid shouted what Alaia was pretty sure were swear words but she didn't stop to listen. The mermaid was still well enough to chase her and she didn't want to provoke it. Then again, attacking it was provoking it...
