Ryan eyed the bag, before sticking his hand in and pulling out a couple. If was going to die, he might as well have something to eat first. Especially since he skipped a meal to take part on this particular hell ride.

"Thanks. So he just appeared?" he asked, eying the individual with a look of suspicion. Though he kept a wary eye on the rest of his surroundings as well. "Think he's allied with them?" He started to ask, but just as the words left his mouth, everything went dark. As though someone just switched off the lights on them and standing in place of the elderly man, was a skeleton.

"What the hell just happened?"

Otto didn't like this. Not at all. Things getting darker always meant bad things. On the plus side, maybe time wouldn't repeat again. The more it repeated the more it reminded him of a very unpleasant stay in the Horsemen's lair. A time he chose to block out at all times.

The teen shifted, staring down at the sand, then up at the darkened sky. His gaze then fell on the form talking to the horsemen, before flicking to the passed out Mark.

Yeah.. maybe he shouldn't have felt bad when he'd died after all. Just what was he good for again?

She hissed out, dropping the food she had in her hand as the sand started to kick up and act strange.

Then suddenly...

"...I heard of Dieting but, geez." Sure it was a smart a** remark, but she was feeling rather irritated and snarky.

Plus, sand just took her food.

"I think tall white and skinny over there is a horseman... just an idea but, he looks friendly with them too much to not be."

The revelation that the old man was actually Death wasn't as much of a surprise as it could have been. Jordan swayed a little on his feet, then made a conscious effort to stand still. Maybe he was still dead after all. He moved over a little to lean against Rep. If he was still dead, then that probably meant the rest of them were too. He felt hollow, exhausted, his mood flipping again from bemused acceptance to numb horror.

Ferros was here with him. If they were dead, at least their weapons had been able to follow. That was a small, cold comfort.

Ryan tugged his goggles down back in place again and frowned. Though it ended up in a crooked smile after Ceres made her comment. "No worries. If time resets again, you'll have it back again." He was joking of course. He really REALLY didn't want time to reset again.

"Seems like it. Though it doesn't look like they had planned for this to happen either." He only hoped that this didn't spell trouble for the rest of them.

Oh. Oh. Mimsy had expected to find evidence that would help her understand how altering this timeloop so freely was not directly influencing their existence (or potential lack thereof). Instead, she discovered that she had been attempting to woo...

...well, she really didn't have any answer for that, either. Not one that made any amount of logical sense, anyway. Just an explosion of exponentially more questions. She shifted on the sand, which felt a bit more sturdy now beneath the soles of her boots, but didn't make any indication that she planned on moving.

<Oh, kiss him now NOW now! You match! White as bones!>

Svensyl's words dissolved into a grating gigglefit.

Shik was still as a statue save for whatever wind there was left in the Sahara to ruffle his already rather ruffled feathers. So this was the Horseman of Death? Finally, someone other than the scurrying high priestess to talk to.

The executioner crossed his arms, shrugging off the nonsense about humans lives having value or whatever, shrugging off the fact that he still was talking in riddles, even shrugging off the anger that had been rising in him at the mention of them being part of some "experiment". This choice was far too interesting to pass up.

Shik was not a great thinker. In battle he reacted and drew off instinct and training, but thinking? Moralizing? The best he did was argue for his side, and what his side told him was that Medea, while she had her moments, had been slipping as far as he was concerned. Hell, she was probably the reason Shaheen had become more broken, whatever the cheiftain claimed. If Medea had a "cure" for Insanity, like those little vials had been temporary relief for, then she was holding out on them. Always searching for something more while leading them along. He was tired of it. He acted and reacted and could not settle for waiting around any longer.

Death would probably do more of the same, but he just didn't care anymore. Shik wanted a change of scenery and, hopefully, a new chance to be something more himself. Or maybe, just maybe, a chance to just be a little bit rebellious again.

Shaheen would probably kill him later.

"I'm in," he told the horseman simply, stranding straighter. "Lead the way . . . sir."

Look who finally had arrived.

Mengyao stood stonily in front of the horseman, arms at his sides, his gaze flickering first from the face of Death, to those that stood around him, to Lifen, to Senga, then back to Death again, his eyes burning bright gold and blue. The inner workings of the Horseman of Death's mind were, of course, utterly maddening and altogether quite confusing most of the time, but Death was still a far better option than Medea, at least in Mengyao's mind.

He no longer trusted the priestess. Did he trust anyone? He wasn't entirely certain anymore, except for one person, and that person he could not be around, could not trust himself to be around.

Mengyao gave a low sigh, partially like a hiss. He kept his gaze steady, refusing to allow himself to look to the side where Lifen was, though he desperately wanted to reach out and pull her towards him.

"I am in as well," he said, in as light a tone as possible.

Senga barely restrained himself from startling at the sudden change of scenery, his wings ruffling in agitation at the Horsemen of Death's words. It seemed nearly foul, this game they were playing. Half of his riddle-like words were either insulting or purely nonsensical, drawing on Senga's patience like a knife to a fraying rope. Stepping off of the pedestal, Senga instinctively raised his hand, blocking the rap of the cane with a mild growl.

"Are you telling me to act human?" He remarked, eyes burning with a golden glow. "They scrape and bow their heads to you - and that makes their deaths somehow more important?" He spoke quietly, and with the barest hint of confusion, even though the irritation had left his features and receded beneath the bonds of self-constraint. He tilted his head at the mans words, eyes flickering briefly to the dark sky above.

He turned to examine Lifen and Shikoba, and briefly he looked at Mengyao, his gaze dark and veiled as he glanced over all three of them, selfishly protective. Exhaling sharply, he turned his attention back to the skeleton, his long wings folding stonily at his sides.

It was a simple question, with a simple answer.

"I am in." He paused, tilting his head. "What must we do?"

All Lifen could truly think at the first moment was a sudden calming of her mind, a sense that things were starting to clear up when it came to light that this was the true Horseman of Death, and his merry antics. Pursing her lips a little, she allowed him to explain himself, slowly sinking down to pick up Senga's furs once more - unaware that she had even ripped it off the Death Clansman's body in her original rage at resetting once again.

Fiddling with the white furs under pale hands, she gave the whole thing a good think over. Medea was a good Priestess, for what she did, but he was right. Everything that she did was obscure and maddening, never giving the Artisan the answers she wanted.

Clarity and a new chance seemed so much better than this insanity that was her daily life.

Hearing Shikobu and Mengyao pipe up, she flicked red and gold eyes to the two of them, before nodding curtly, standing straight from behind Senga, as he chimed in, clearing her throat.

"I am in, also." She murmured to the Horseman.

Al moved to back off obediently, yeah, that place was clearly meant for the guy-wives, he numbly realized. He flopped back to sit in the sand in front of Rep and Jordan. Just dumbly staring at them and then the scene as s**t just got weirder somehow. Then at Death. Was... why... why was death here? Al couldn't resist the soft whine that burbled in his throat. So they all died? At least he was not alone in the end.

He liked humans! He was speaking rather well too. This was a good sign. Deryk was liking him over Medea more and more by the second. Though, he soon paled as things suddenly shifted, and the male figure revealed just who he was. This was Death himself.

"Eh..ehhehee..." he gave a very nervous laugh. Okay. On the plus side, the leader of the horsemen would be less.. psychotic? On the downside... THIS WAS DEATH, HIMSELF.

He had nothing else to say. It was the horsemen who had to decide things. He and the other hunters probably couldn't do anything of this right now if they tried.

Melvin just stared, not sure if his brain broke and he hallucinating or, like many things, Halloween was toying with him. Standing before him, in iconic fashion that even children knew, was Death.

The Lifer just moved over to Rep and pointed, eyes wide in a mind-blown fashion. "Am I seeing this? Is the Grim Reaper just dicking around here with us?" And of all things, recruiting horsemen.

Aisa hadn't missed the wink, a part of her captured in speechless astonishment. He hadn't appeared in all this time but it figured, this was part of his clockwork mischief. Death never even informed Aisa, she presumed, partially because it had been so delightfully amusing.

Some parts hadn't been but looking back on it now, it was probably amusing in Death's peculiar humor. Even Aisa hadn't understood that humor at times, especially when it involved human hamburgers.

She didn't speak, when the other horsemen expressed insolence or mixed reactions toward Death, merely standing by. She stood off to the side, chuckling, her hand occasionally covered her rare humor. It was rare, that Aisa was in such a delighted mood and not over killing humans.

"Oh, Death, did you have to ask what I'd choose?"

She wanted to drape herself over Death, to remind herself that his occasionally visit every fifty years or so, wasn't a dream. But she didn't dare, when Death was making such a commanding speech.

"I suppose you could count me as part of your plans, good Death."
