Indeed. Words.
He smiled, and nodded. Walter had a way with words, perhaps it was because of the years of life he had lived. He had just done so much speaking it came second nature. But his voice was always smooth, warm, one word rolled to the next, and the next, ever maintaining a air of formality. His voice was just an octave or two above a whisper. It was audible, without being forceful.
Words, make speech.
He made a small wave of his finger, and as he continued, just the pronunciation exited his mouth, the letters were formed in mid air sort of dancing a bit before fading away. A visual representation of sorts, as if to say "these were words".
Words, are how we talk to each other.
----
Maximos is a very light sleeper. He was gently beginning to be wrestled from unconsciousness as she woke. Her gently finger brushing aside a strand of navy blue hair, was accompanied by his eyes gently peeling open. And a small smile spreading across his lips. He had almost no magic senses, and was just about completely unaware what was going on below.
Good....morning?
He said, with a sheepish, sleepy voice.

"W-words-- make spee-- sp-eech."
She said slowly, her eyes drawn to the words writing themselves in the air before her, her eyes unfocusing slightly as she added somewhat-vacantly.
"Let-ters... letters maake words."
She sat, simply staring at the letters, but it was as if her eyes weren't really seeing- anything. They appeared hazy and far off.

Walter caught that. There was a small smirk on his cheeks, for just a second. She came up with a new word, a word he hadnt said just yet. He never described letters before, but she knew. This would require a dash of further probing.
Very good Lady Teira. You learn fast.
He said, once again adjusting his monocle. The letters noticeably absent.
Let us review.
He leaned forward again, gently tapping the spine of book.
Now, what is this?

"Book... Book has words. Many words."
She sat still, only moving to follow Walter's movements as if transfixed. Her trance like state was a little eerie, but it seemed stable, no powers were surfacing out of control... only fragments of her basic education.

Good. Very good.
Something was off, it was just that glaze in her eyes. She seemed tranced by his voice, as if Teira was slipping and this torrent was coming from elsewhere. Of course, that was an assumption. Walter refused to act on assumptions, he just carried on with the lesson.
And this place, Lady Teira.
He gestured around himself to the stacks of books and crammed shelves.
What is this place called?

She looked around slowly, her eyes empty... her expression vacant.
"Study... n-no. Library. Library has many books."

Excellent.
Walter smirk grew into a full smile as he adjusted his monocle yet again. It was more out of habit than out of the actual need to adjust the small lens. Books, words, letters that was all childhood learning, while the process seemed slow she was indeed tapping into said education. Seeing as how Teira herself had no been exposed to the word Library as of yet, that meant the mind wipe...so to speak was not complete. The slate was not cleaned, it was painted over. And the paint was chipping.
In the early years children are taught many things, how to identify the world around them, how to communicate with it and most importantly...
And what is your name?
The true test. Would that information flow from that previous receptacle or from her recent experience? Both being common place information.

"Si--"
A name sprung to her lips but when she tried to speak it, it died in her throat before ever leaving her mouth. It felt as if her tongue was swollen, her throat was tight.
Her face contorted in pain as a whimper escaped her throat. One hand raised to clutch at her forehead.
Her pupils flared and then narrowed into to tiny, barely visible slits.
Her entire figure trembled as her tail twitched behind her.
"I-- My name--- I am-- T-t-teira."

It was just a flicker of a moment, a single syllable, but it was enough. For that moment, something else answered. Someone else answered. But "Teira" came forth overcoming that small fragment. She displayed great pain hinting as to the form, and perhaps reason for her condition. And now it seemed she was caught in a bit of a power struggle.
His eyes softened a bit, showing concern, but not fear. Very calmly and controlled Walter reached his right hand out and gently poked the center of Teira's forehead.
It was called Soul Lock. A simple manuever Walter himself invented. It basically temporarily locked the mind and soul of an individual onto one particular thing. It was just for a fraction of a second, but it allowed all other interference to be shut out. It was invented to help deal with mid-sleep Destroyer outbreaks Master Maximos used to have.
It seemed Teira was dominant, this would just be a simple motion to help her stay that way and turn off the pain. After the mall poke, Walter was return his hand to his lap, and very kindly say.
Feeling better?

At the poke, she froze for a moment before her face went lax and he spoke. She replied softly,
"Yes, thank you."
That seemed to bring her back to her senses as she clapped a hand over her mouth in surprise. Making a startled squeak and looking at Walter wildly.

The stately butler let out something of a chuckle at the way the words just sort of rolled so exactly from Teira's mouth, and at how startled she seemed to be with exactly that fact.
Well, I would deem this lesson a success wouldnt you, Lady Teira?
He said with a wily smirk on his aged features.

"Lady... Teira...?"
Something about that felt wrong, but when she tried to think about what, her head started to spin. Shaking her head rapidly she tilted her head up to look at the old butller.
"Walter? Right...? I'm sorry. What lesson was that sir?"
She ran a hand through her bangs and looked around tentatively.
"Where am I?"
She whispered the latter softly. More importantly, was the unspoken 'Who am I' that lingered unvoiced on her tongue.

Indeed. That is your name.
Walter, hefted himself out of his seat, the wooden chair protesting, and the padding letting out a soft hiss as the cushions refilled. The butler extended his right hand to help the Lady up.
Well, none other than how to speak.
He would wait until she either accepted or denied his offered hand before he continued.
And your in the Library. The Master does take great pleasure in his collection.
He paused, for just a moment, taking in the puzzled look on her face.
Is everything alright?

She accepted the proffered hand gratefully and rose to her feet in one fluid movement, but quickly reached out to brace herself against something, anything. The entire room spun and she felt ill...
Her head began pounding as she tried to focus.
"How to speak?-- But I-- Ahhh. What happened? I don't remember how I got here..."
she paused for a moment and then very softly added.
"I don't really remember anything for that matter..."

Well it is quite the conundrum isnt it?
Walter said, gesturing toward one of the many halls in this labyrinth of a library. Immediately taking the lead, the Lady could easily get very very lost here.
Unfortunately I do not have all the answers the Lady may be seeking right now.
He took a moment to peel open the door of the library, holding open the door for Lady Teira to step through.
It seems our lesson has allowed you to tap into a higher level of consciousness, a few moments ago the words I am speaking now were mostly a mystery, both in meaning and pronunciation.
It was a long walk, through a bit of a confusing run of tunnels. So Walter took his time, no need to rush.
Perhaps the Lady could inform of what she last remembers?
