l Morrigan l ((Sorry darling, but I live on the west coast, which is where the Gaia servers also happen to be. Promise kept. ^.~ But... if it makes you feel any better (which it won't; in fact, it'll probably make you feel much worse), I seriously almost forgot to post that night, so it wasn't that I was teasing anybody. In reality, I just posted it in the nick of time. ._.;;; )) ((Actually, I was anticipating something quite different. You promised us nude pics, but you never actually said that they were going to be of you. ninja ))

((That would have been dumb. Anyone can find naked pictures of someone and post them on the internet, but it takes a pair to actually post some of yourself. And Dante waited. And waited. And waited. Five minutes became ten, ten became fifteen, and fifteen, twenty. This was not necessarily a bad thing though. Morrigan obviously had something rather complex planned, and this gave Dante plenty of time to think her actions through. It was likely that if the top half of the ‘tree’ extended into the air, then the roots must be doing the same thing below the ground. He couldn’t be certain, but he couldn’t help but to like the odds of that being the case.
The downside was that Dante had come to this conclusion about the five minute mark, and as such had spent the past fifteen minutes mentally scratching his a**, so to speak. At the very least it was ironic. For someone who frequently complained of being bored, like Morrigan, she didn’t really seem to mind boring everyone else with only her first move during a fight. When Dante had challenged her, he had expected something a bit more … flamboyant.
“And you have the gall to call me boring.”
He crossed his arms as he spoke, turned slightly away from Morrigan, and looked in the opposite direction. It may have seemed a bad idea for him to grant his opponent an opening, but this was nothing more than a diversion. In the event that Morri could still see what he was doing, it would make is next move all the more unexpected. Morrigan’s shadow rather suddenly rose from the ground and took on a similar form to it’s owner, albeit that it’s coloring was closer to resembling Dante’s skin. A brief smirk flashed across it’s face as the only warning before it attempted to bury it’s fist in the stomach of the real Morrigan.
“See? You even made me use something as commonplace as that.”

"Enough!"
The tendrils that formed the "tree" above Morrigan suddenly went limp right before shooting forward towards the shadow Morrigan charging at her. Her body was pierced a hundred times over, keeping her in place like a pinned butterfly.
"You know darling," Morrigan said to Dante, finally speaking up, "Your patience and loyalty to your word is commendable, as is your ingenuity for finding a way to attack me without you actually making the first attack. The only thing I find surprising is how long it took you to come up with the idea."
Her minions from the shattered Aensland Estate had arrived. As she spoke they began to fuse with the others.
Finally! This time, these might actually be necessary.
Lifting the shadow copy about ten meters into the air, Morrigan continued. "Speaking of which, I've had plenty of time myself to think. Over the centuries of my existence, I've had time to contemplate and experiment with the many forms my minions can take. I've tried them all: swords, spears, axes, scythes, whips, chainsaws, tridents, shuriken, caltrops, maces, and whatever else you can think of."
As Morrigan spoke each instance of each weapon, a tendril that was still inside the shadow Morrigan would form into the matching object. The speed at which they formed along with Morrigan's speech almost made it comical.
"But what I've found..."
She trailed off. The large number of minions now with her started to once again form the "tree", except now it was apparent that the branches were a framework for something else, something that was now being built around them.
"... to be the most effective..."
Her minions above her were becoming more of a solid mass now, with the paralyzed shadow Morrigan becoming enveloped somewhere in the middle.
"... when I need a single entity utterly destroyed..."
The minions had now become something of a rough sphere shape with the top cut away, leaving an opening up there that exposed the fact that it was completely hollow inside.
"... is not so much a weapon..."
Now it was complete. At once, the tendrils holding the shadow Morrigan were withdrawn, leaving it free to escape out the top. However, the top suddenly closed and the entire sphere started to contort, producing a split second of screaming from the victim inside before it went silent. After a few seconds, it stopped, hunched over, and nearly turned itself inside-out to expel what was left of the shadow Morrigan: crushed bones, torn blankets of skin, and unrecognizable organs in a messy little pile. The blades and random shrapnel that were once inside still showed themselves wet with a blackish blood before being sucked back inside again.
"... as it is an instrument to feed."
Effectively, what Morrigan had created was an incredibly massive, wide-open mouth, complete with thousands of moving, shrapnel-like teeth. It was so large that the movement of it required the support and grounding of the roots Morrigan had formed.
Once it had regained its upright "posture", it let loose an unearthly roar before moving to engulf Dante.

Um, ew? Actually having to think whether or not he was disgusted by the display of Morrigan's newest morph, Quint decided he was...a little, spotting a dark mass on the top that sported the distinct shape of a kidney. The fake that had been spat out, possibly due to its flavor, wasn't human but had a lot of traits that would convince some that it was, like a skeleton.
Haven't seen a 'true' copy before, not counting those who can shapeshift themselves into someone else.. I wonder how many more he has left to make? Being the pervert for information, Quint stood and walked over to the clone, grabbing another cigarette from his pocket, but not lighting it. It hung loosely from his lips as the pureed mess came into sharper view, Quint smirking at the discovery of a tooth. He wouldn't ever touch the mass, but he squatted down, resting on his heels while guessing how Dante made this work, and how he could do it himself.

Well, he did have to admit that it was a creative attack, though perhaps not as original as Morrigan may have thought. The truth of the matter was that he had seen a similar, albeit larger scale, version from Roan. He believed that she referred to it as ‘Azazel‘, but he could have been wrong. Regardless, from the moment that he has seen Roan employ her version, he had been bouncing around ideas on how to counter it. Most seemed to fall short in one way or another, due to fundamental flaws, but one seemed to stick out in his mind as possessing more of an advantage against a mouth of this size.
Due to this fact, Dante remained where he was. He didn’t try to dodge, he didn’t try to run, he didn’t even so much as flinch as the mouth barreled towards his position. The mouth engulfed his entire being with ease and began to masticate. Around the third or fourth chew, it was obvious that something was wrong. The mouth seemed to be having trouble opening and closing, as though the opposing weapon-like teeth were stuck together with some sort of adhesive. This couldn’t have been closer to the truth.
When faced with a giant mouth, one had only to ask themselves: what can be chewed but not consumed? The answer, almost painfully obvious as it was, was ‘gum’. Dante had literally morphed his body to take on the consistency of a piece of bubblegum, rendering any attempt to rend his body with the weapon-teeth ineffective. What’s more, he had made certain that his body was ‘sticky’ enough to guarantee that the jaws would be unable to move themselves at the hinge after a meager number of chews.
In true Dante fashion, this strategy had two sides as well. While Morrigan was probably contemplating what she could possibly do next, one of the bones at Quint’s feet began to levitate off of the ground. It spun lazily once or twice, mesmerizing Quint before he could realize what was about to happen, and then it flew in an arc straight for the back of Morrigan’s head.

For a moment, Morrigan had thought that she had seen this before. Many a fighter had the exact same attitude when faced with this attack; that is, they would stand there and let the abomination devour them, thinking perhaps that they could punch, kick, or shoot their way out. It never worked, mostly because their arms and legs were severed before they could do anything. This, however, took her by surprise, and it showed who truly had the advantage in knowing the exact capabilities of who they were fighting. Morrigan silently both celebrated and lamented that she knew almost nothing about this being's abilities. Meanwhile, the bone that had been flying through the air had struck Morrigan on the head with a sickening crack. Almost as though it shared her pain, the gigantic mouth she had formed began to flail wildly in every direction, occasionally throwing itself into the ground, causing a miniature earthquake each time it landed. Similarly, Morrigan was reeling for a moment from the strike, thinking that perhaps someone else there had just attacked her. As soon as she saw what had hit her and where it came from, she looked and saw Quint standing there. For the moment, she had to assume that he had just attacked her by throwing the tibia from the chewed up body, but since she wasn't in a position to do much about it, she decided to try to finish with Dante before she dealt with Quint. That is, if he wasn't already done for. It wasn't like she could feel though her minions, and they were going crazy with confusion between themselves for Morrigan to find out what was going on in there. As a result, she wasn't sure it Dante was dead or alive, a situation eerily similar to Schrodinger's cat. Whatever the case was, the mouth was stuck shut, so there wasn't a way for her to find out short of deconstructing the entire monstrosity that held him in place.

That was probably just Dante.. Quint spoke as a the femur bone rose from its sloppy home, to strike Morrigan clean on the noggin. There was ample time to stop it, and even score some brownie points, but he'd choose his research over..restless sleep-time this instance.
Just as he pulled out the lighter to ignite his cigarette, the monster bounced around enough to throw off his grip, and his precious Zippo lighter with one edge with sandpaper--it previously used for Quint's Fire Alchemy--dropped into the muck, sucked down before the tremors stopped.
Behind both, Quint couldn't see why the action had paused, but he took the opportunity to test another property of Dante's creation: Toxicity. Plunging his hand deep within, he winced as slight cuts formed along his forearms from the shards of bone, he reached the hard metal casing, ejecting his hand quickly. His arms weren't bleeding from the wounds after examination, but that didn't fully calm him. Guess we'll see..she's still here, I should have at least twenty minutes, and that's saying this stuff is poisonous ..

Rioushu had been watching the fight, and while he hadn't seen most of the techniques so far, he also had no interest in them, besides figuring out the best way to counter them if he ever had to. Dante's gum-like state had given him an idea, but that would be interupted by the sudden distraction the bone had flown into Morrigan's head. He knew Quint hadn't thrown it, he didn't sense any movement from his position, but he couldn't figure how it had just got up and sped towards her. He merely assumed Dante was the cause of it, this being his typical jackassery.
Rioushu then went back to focusing on Dante's position. He had an idea of what to do, but he wasn't sure how he would do it, he didn't have a move like what was needed. His eyes showed a glimpse of curiosity, but then it disappeared quickly as he turned and moved to Quint. "He Quint, isn't it a bit stuffy in here? Could you please turn the temp down to ice cold? I like my body nice and stiff." Rioushu said quietly to him, making sure no one could here.

Dante was indeed alive within the sphere of bats, but he did not make that fact known. He was up to something, but what exactly that something was, no one could possibly be aware of. Morrigan’s bats were the only ones who could relay that information, but they were still far to confused to summon up anything more substantial than a chaotic mixture of screeches and chitters. It would be sufficient to say that Dante was incapable of breaking himself out of the fiendish contraption that Morrigan had created, and unless he were freed, he could not win. At the same time, unless Morrigan freed him she could not win either. It would seem as though whoever was more patient would win this little game of mental chess. Unfortunately for Morrigan, boredom was a state she easily set in to, and Dante was capitalizing on this.

Reunited and feeling good, Quint finally lit the cigarette that hadn't found itself away from him during the quake, his stomach growling at first puff. His arm wasn't numb, nor in pain, but it only had been a couple minutes, so there was no real telling. Rioushu managed to startle Quint a little, his ((What's the deal with your gender Rio? I know I'm one to talk, but you refer to yourself as male..)) hushed voice together with his request to be...stiff kinda weird.
Also strange was the fact Rioushu was even asking Quint anything, after that last fiasco when Quint tried to kill him. He had always been on his toes around Rioushu since then for that very reason. Okay.. He warned, If you mean rigid by rigor mortis, then I've got you covered! He didn't actually mean it, mainly because he wasn't that powerful; Quint was just testing the waters for hostility.
Instead of causing the battlefield, his home, to be completely covered by the proverbial box of his icy skills, Quint thought to simply put the freeze on two places: In front, where the copy lied..dead, then on Morrigan and Dante's position. For a brief moment, Rioushu's frame would also be wracked with the same frigid air that was promised, but Quint would find the expansion to his area of effect unnecessary and end it before too long. Hopefully he got...taut from that.
I haven't had a request before, I feel like a rock star..! With a hand palm up to the sky, Quint placed the cigarette from his mouth to his off-hand, the left, able now to grit his teeth to summon the strength he needed. The change wasn't immediate, but a slow and steady decrease of the temperature and wind speed could be felt by the trio of Morrigan Dante and his copy, vapor soon then coming from their owner's mouths. It wouldn't cease there as a new air started to blow, it neither brief or forgiving, a mighty draft that threatened to freeze liquids inside in its arctic advance.
Cold enough for ya? Quint would ask in a clichéd manner, bringing the f** back to his mouth and smoking on it.
