It's Adventure Updates Time!
So, Overly Attached Non-Girlfriend has kept calling. I keep fielding the calls and she keeps hanging up. I told Nick the next time she calls he will take it, and when she asks who I am, say "that's my wife" just to get rid of her.
Grandpa definitely has a girlfriend! She's a lady he met at physical therapy, one of the therapists - but not his therapist, that's a no-no there. We'd wondered why he kept going, and the little blue pills gave it away. We're harassing him to invite her to dinner: the offer is we'll clean up the place, make the dinner beforehand, and GTFO for the evening. He still hasn't said YES, or even "oh all right" - but he hasn't said NO, either.
The Grumpy Little Tiger still hasn't found a friend he likes. We've asked the shelter to let us know in a few weeks if there are any new strays up for adoption. GLT has already met most of the others and he doesn't like any of them, cat or dog.
GLT has also taken to sleeping on our bed, between our feet. He's a long one; if he stretches out his head is behind my knees!
No luck on the "real" jobs, but I do get little things here and there, once word spread that I know my way around a toolbox. Rescuing a ring from an elbow joint under the sink is $20 nice and easy. So's rehanging a cabinet door, or mounting a TV frame thingy on a wall. Amazing what people will pay to get out of doing themselves....

I just got a little confused because I wasn't so sure it was you. It would have been really embarrassing if I quoted that person thinking it was you, only to find out it wasn't sweatdrop

*GROAN* Ever make/eat something that was incredibly delicious, only to have it punch you in the gut? Even worse, everyone else ate the same thing with no after-effects?

Thank you. I like it so much I've kept it over a week cat_4laugh Digital Fiend That feeling is why I refuse to make any dairy based foods. Lactose intolerant huh. For me it's too much fiber. I made fried brown rice with lots of veggies. It was delicious but... yeah.

This was the first time in 22 years I didn't spend Mothers' Day with mine.
I sent my sister a card, since I recently found out where she's living (thank goodness for old high school friends and their siblings!) but I haven't heard back from her.
I feel strangely numb.

La Belle Gigi This was the first time in 22 years I didn't spend Mothers' Day with mine. I sent my sister a card, since I recently found out where she's living (thank goodness for old high school friends and their siblings!) but I haven't heard back from her. I feel strangely numb.
That's okay dear. Things are always a little bit unusual at first. I'm sure you'll get used to it in time emotion_hug
Think of this as something they need to fully realize that they're not superior to you, that they can't boss you around. Kind of like their wake up call to reality.

Thanks hon emotion_hug I guess it's just because it's the first time I didn't HAVE to celebrate it. Plus I'm of the belief that if you need a specific day to show your mother you appreciate her, there's something wrong with your relationship. Was your weekend good, at least?

Kind of. A little bit sad because my sister had to leave after her short visit. But then we went to my cousin's debut party, so yeah it was really fun~ It was just a little bit disconcerting that we kind of forgot that it's Mother's Day because of all the preparation going on. The party's supposed to be a secret from her, and we're all trying out best not to get caught at the last moment.
