And now for the defense. Placing both feet firmly on the ground, Blaze crossed his arms in an X fashion in front, as to shield any incoming attacks. This one was quiet. Certainly less annoying than a certain Drillburr he had met. That she devil. His trainer would allow him to fight. It had an item that Tsuki caught might come in handy if they ever caught a Scyther or Onix.

(Actually both are right ....because there was no opponent the Durant was forced to defend. No one to attack and he had attack prior anyway, and second the usage of an item should have forced Genn to stand defensively. To protect himself and Raven considering that the boy's attention was else where at the moment.
YOu can't counter-attack while using an item))

The Aron would move to test his ability to defend as she rushes forward. Her entire body was bearing down on the pokemon as she tries to break his guard with her forward charge. She wasn't going to be easily backing down as she moved to crack those arms .....as she slams into them. To break them so that he was useless for anything else in this fight other than blowing smoke rings ...if there was any hope of that.
Afterall, unlike most of her kind ...the flames didn't gain anything special by hitting her ...or at least these were her thoughts.

Lunarsun The power from the Stunfisk's bide was starting to form .....as she press her fins against the ground. Her eyes seemed to not change in the least even as the sphere of energy formed ....she had only been hit once, but it was more than enough to bring most to their knees .....as the injury started to form within her ....as she open her mouth to release it out ....as some giant explosive force. Her damage, her pain would double upon her enemy ....even as the counter-attack came to it's end with that final strike.
Though with that attack would actually come pain, because, the process of using Bide forced her to counter-attack twice in a row.
Hp: reduced by 2 ((Forgot the second roll))

((I still stand not to agree with you, seeing as from my own perspective the turns were entirely separate, and so I wasn't using an Item and Countering; however, I don't see much actual point in arguing the point, so lets just pretend I defended for that post. I really don't have the spare time to actually edit right now due to the fact I have a limited amount of time to be here on weekend mornings. xp ))

((...I totally forgot about that four.))Sweeping his tail across the ground behind him, the Steelix let out an ear splitting bellow, causing the earth beneath him to rumble in the same instant. This battle had just started and he was already getting bored. First the Skarmory, then the Shieldon and now a Durant. It was just Steel-Type after Steel-Type after Steel-Type! Couldn't he fight something a little more interesting!? Two Steel-Type was like watching a Brick Wall verses a Stone Wall! It was dull and went nowhere fast!
Rumbling slightly from deep within, Genn's eyes trailed over the insect. Not to mention the difference in size. He could crush this bug like...well, frankly, a bug.
Flicking his tail slightly, the Steelix caused another slight tremor. Well, he might as well get this over with. The kid hadn't recalled him against the Skarmory, he was unlikely to do so here.
Bellowing again, the Steelix would lunge forward, plunging his head earthward as his fangs began to develop a thick icy coating. Ice Fang, plain and simple. He'd show this Durant what happened to a bug in winter!

((I kind of figured that one xd ))
((12 - 5 + 15 - 18 = 4dmg/2 = 2dmg)
The first attack would flatten the Durant against the ground. It's entire body hit hard by those icy fangs as he would feel the bite of ice. But it would only be distantly ..afterall ...cold didn't hurt her metal hide ....as she would turn around and striking the ground with her mandibles as she would send the grit from the floor flying into his face.
It was to make him release his bite on her ....even as it was meant to blind him as well.
She wasn't planning on fighting fair with such a pokemon.

((HA HA! Now it is my turn to interject! Ice Fang causes Flinch, and 12 over 4 is well high enough to do it! So it's actually my attack again!))Genn indeed would release the Durant...for all of three seconds. In the space of a single frosted breath, the Steelix's teeth would re-harden, the ice becoming thicker and sharper before he once again plunged down upon the Durant once more. He had noticed it even if she had not, that faintest crack in her outer shell which would cause her to flinch with the faintest movement.
Snapping shut his gaping maw, Genn went to deliver another Ice Fang upon the insect! ((Well that was an awful waste of an opportunity dagnabbit...))

(Face Palm ...oh well))
Though the attack would clamp down it wasn't enough to get through her thick armor. Even as her body had frozen from it's attack as she looks back at him, and it wasn't a pleasant attack ...as she would reach over with her own pincers. Grabbing the side of his mouth she would try to chomp down ...even as he was holding and chomping her.
Vice Grip would be her response to his pain as she tries to rip into him ...as surely as he had tried to rip into her.

Genn's response would be that of anyone dealing with an irritating insect attempting to bite him. First he would blow on her harshly, attempting to dislodge her from his steely flesh. Secondly, the Steelix would whip his head sharply to one side, trying to toss her off of him. Last of all, if she hadn't been knocked off by then, he would roll over.
He wasn't using enough strength to cause any damage with the action of course; but he doubted the Durant would want to be sitting beneath his wait regardless of that fact. Genn was a Steelix, and she was a Durant. The weight difference between the two of them was like the different between a chunk of tin, and a chunk of lead. You could guess which one he was.

She would release her hold ...as she lands back on her feet. The sight of the pokemon thrashing afterwards would only serve to make her madder. She had taken injury and still she could do nothing about him ...as she would shift her feet across the grounds.
She wanted to try it again, but not ...that Vice Grip. She had failed once, she wasn't going to fail again with that same sort of an attack ....as she would draw her mandibles in the dirt.
She knew he would come at her, and with that in mind ...she was ready with her counter-attack, Sand-attack.
She would drive that attack away from her ....

There came only a single flaw with the Durant's plan. She was dealing with a Steelix, a creature which naturally fed upon dirt and ore. One who consumed the products of the earth itself. Her sand was like a light snack to him, and his mouth was more then wide enough to take in the full spray!
Opening his gaping maw wide, Genn would let out a series of heavy, frosted breaths. His teeth would turn to icicles as they hardened and froze over. Ice Fang just as before. It was an attack not entirely effective against a Durant; but it came with some nasty side-effects when successful.
Smacking his tail once against the ground, the Steelix would once again rise up like a terrible metal serpent, then plunge down upon the Durant like a predator upon it's prey.

STUNFISK SNAPPED OUT OF CONFUSION!Erion, unsuspecting, was given quite the surprise when the Bide came, the ball of energy hitting him in the face as he stumbled back, shaking his head. The Aerodactyl growled, and Ada put her hand on his back. "Stay calm, just take a break. You'll wear yourself thin."
The Aerodactyl huffed, shifting back as he let his wings drop and relaxed. Yes, he'd just take a breather now. What could that thing do to him now, anywyas? Bide? It would take awhile for that to work.
