When the twins woke up Sonja was cold and white. She was gone. "No!" Aki cried. Yuki cried "She left us." The both sobbed. "We love you Sonja." The twins prayed "Please take care of Sonja and let her be in heaven now. She was very good. Please god take her to be with you."

The twins kissed Sonja goodbye. They would miss her terribly. They thought of her going to heaven and being happy. "Will they take her to heaven?" Yuk asked Aki. Aki said "Of course she was very good. They will hear our prayers and let her in." he said to Aki trying to be reassuring. They hoped they were right. She really was very good. They sobbed at her bedside for a long time then when they could cry no more they went to the bathroom to wash their little faces, holding each other for support.

When they came back Sonja was gone. Nothing was left but a few feathers. Maybe the angels heard then and took her to heaven! They were very happy that Sonja would be able to go to heaven.

Aki and Yuki each picked up the feathers to keep as a remembrance of Sonja. They would go back. Undoubtedly someone would come to take them away sometime soon. They would pack a few clothes and keep their bears that Sonja gave them and the photos from when they went out to the town and met the ponies. They cried together as they packed and then sat hugging their bears.

The archangel calls the angel physician Peter to come and see why the half-breed Sonja died so easily and suddenly. It was unusual for even a half-breed to die in such a manner.

Peter has Sonja brought to a quarantined area so that if she had some ailment that was contagious that it would be contained. Peter cannot figure out why her feathers were falling out like they did. He takes a few samples and goes to the lab table to examine them and run tests.


***let's skip some hours until Stephan comes***

When Stephan came the twins went to the door and opened it. "Stephan! Sonja died and left us. She's gone now...." They were crying. "They took her body, we hope she went to heaven."

The physician Peter said "Well she seems mostly angel except she does seem to have fangs and perhaps needed blood to live but she is pale so she did not take blood like she should have needed to. I will have to check to see if maybe she did not have enough blood in her system but that would not cause the feathers to molt off. That is something else.


"Sonja was very sick and started to lose her feathers. She got very weak and when we woke up she was dead." the twins said crying.

Peter thought about it, that was not that long ago so she should have been fine. Was the human sick at all?

The twins said "She kept saying she was fine but that day you came she was weak and got weaker and weaker."

Peter said, "Hmm...that is true. I will need to run some tests maybe on her blood." He goes to take a vile of blood from her. "We will keep her here in stasis so her body does not deteriorate so that I can do my tests. This is all very odd. You make sure she is guarded at all times."


The twins nodded. "We hope she is happy in heaven." They tried to smile for Stephan. "But we will have no home now. We will have to be sold again and maybe split up."

"You can deal with her when that happens. I am not the one who decides on spirits. I am just the physician and need to find out what happened to her body. I am going to run some test. I will be back in a little while while." Peter goes to the lab to run Sonja's blood through some tests.

The twins smiled "You will! Thank you! We would like that and we will be very good and try to help you and your wife." They felt better that Stephan might be able to buy them.
