This was more action that Joshua had wanted to see in his whole ******** lifetime.
The whale apparently... ate one of the terrorists ? ...Zodiac... Senshi... Alien... WHATEVER THEY WERE. Then went off and... started blasting rainbows.
It must have been, since suddenly everyone had changed colors. Violet, Green, a blue one over there.
Joshua went red. Dark red hair, bright red eyes, pale red skin. And he certainly saw ******** god damn space whale..." He muttered. He was going to kick. it's. a**. Surely there was something here he could use, right ?!
In his fury, he didn't see the bat coming.
It clamped on his arm and Joshua screamed, trying to throw it off and only making it worse - it pulled at his arm, and there was the sound of a bone snapping.
It only made Joshua more angry, and very, very much in pain. ******** bats ! This couldn't ******** be happening !!!!

Well, the Princess was up and moving. So was Flora. That seemed to be alright, she supposed, it didn't really matter though. She raised one hand and smiled widely: "Hi, Flora! Glad to see you! It's really nice up here today, isn't it?" A bat careened into her arm, fracturing a bone, and she winced a little; the mellow feeling swallowed her outrage at her opponent's audacity. How dare that bat attack her. She was waving to the Princess!
Virgo felt like she should probably care a little more about that. But she didn't! and it was nice.

"The no shoes thing could be worse, at least this road is a decent temperature, and fairly..." His voice trailed off when he noticed the whale moving. Was it leaving? It didn't seem very probable, but that was what it looked like it was doing. Of course, it couldn't leave without doing something, and it started to hum. "Musical space whales," Ian muttered. "Who would have thought." People began to turn colors, and Ian could only blink. His friend, Fritz, had turned green, and then had proceeded to have a small panic attack. He couldn't blame him, this thing was just getting weirder and weirder. "It'll be fine!" Ian attempted to reassure him. He too wasn't immune to this wacky color change, and when he glanced down, his hand had turned a dark purple. This was so awesome! He began to bounce around in circles, more hyper than he even normally was. Everything was so bright, and colorfun, and pretty. Even the giant wolf sized bats were pretty, even if they weren't very colorful. One of them flew into him, knocking into his arm, and he knew that he would have a big bruise on his arm eventually. It would probably be purple too, and he wished he had a mirror. "Anybody have a mirror?" he yelled out. It would be cool to see what he looked like. The bats, no big deal, just another bit of fun in this carnival of insanity.

"Get off me! GET OFF ME!" screamed terrified Jade while trying to get the bat that was chewing her arm. Eventually she managed to get free, throwing the bat long way away from her. It would come back, she thought. It will come back and revenge.
Her attention turned into her injured arm. "I'm bleeding," Jade gasped frightened. Wide-eyed she stared how blood was flowing away from the wound. She was bleeding to death and no one would help her. Not a single soul. She didn't want to die. Not yet when there was so many years to live.
But then Jade noticed something unsettling. There was Menthe, a mousey girl whom she had seen often in the inn she worked in. But that wasn't Menthe, not real one. First of all, she was all yellow and real Menthe was not yellow. Secondly, she was oddly calm, even though there were monster bats around her.
"Menthe," Jade sighed, resembling for a moment a lonely puppy who had witnessed a door shutting in front of her and denying a happy home from her. Even one single thing that had been even vaguely familiar had been taken away from her and that fact made her even more scared.
"Menthe, snap out of it," she pleaded and started to walk towards her. She kneeled down in front of her, holding her bleeding arm and trying to stop blood from flowing while trying to get an eye contact from her. "Menthe, you're not yourself. Wake up. Please. You're freaking me out."
Such a strange words from a woman who usually was hard as steel.

Candice stood there, still in her hallucination. A roar came out of nowhere and as she blinked, once again she found herself on the shattered rainbow road. There was still much chaos and she could see that others like her, had been 'in another world' yet again.
With a rumble in the air, people started changing color around her. Some were red, others were yellow... They were all colors of the rainbow. Candice looked at her own hands, her right hand still holding the sharp piece of the road, her 'rapier'. Suddenly, she started to glow like everyone else... A shade of violet?!
The color change also came a feeling... of adrenalin rush. The adrenalin rush also came with a wave of bats that came to attack her and the other civilians. One in particular came flying at her. Candice, not feeling any other feelings but the desire to do something.
The bat flew towards Candice as she stood ready with her weapon, as if she were ready for a fencing match. She dodged, and as the bat missed her, she dug the shard into its backside, causing the bat to screech and fall to the floor, dead.
"Stupid bad," Candice muttered as she was trying to regain her breath. But afterwards, she couldn't just stand there, she ran towards Raven and the people around her. "I need to get this energy out! Need help?!" Her words were spoken in a jumble, getting harder and harder to understand with each word.

"I HATE YOU!" Holi wept, still wrenched with the anguish of being trapped around so many things that were not, under any circumstance allowed to exist.
Allowed to exist? No that wasn't right, because everything she believed in said they couldn't exist at all, and it made her want to cry harder that here they were, flapping around, being space whales and wolf sized bats and generally defying everything she believed.
"I RUINED CHOCOLATE FOR THIS!" She called, as a tragic battle cry. Her chocolate at home was probably overheated and separating. Her parents loved what she made but they'd never really had the interest in knowing how to handle it, and it was good chocolate. That was... that was almost like murder wasn't it? It felt like it right now.... and the grief for that forgotten confection on the kitchen floor must have lent some strength to her attack, as well as it's share of clumsiness, because when she furiously swung at it, open handed, she felt something give in her hand with an funny sort of 'pop'.
It hurt, a lot, but not quite in the way you associated with scraped knees and cuts. It was more as though you knew, instinctively, that it hurt, but your brain whited out the 'noise' of it, because it didn't know how to deal with what had just gone wrong, and instead if felt cold and watery for a minute.... and THEN it started to hurt. Bright waves of pain pounding up her arm from her finger in time with her pulse. Was it hyper extended? Broken? She couldn't be sure, but her continued grief not only made it feel worse, they made her suspect the worst. She'd probably have to have her finger amputated because of an imaginary evil bat! It was so damn depressing!

Ho humm... Her eyes turned to gaze at the girl who mentioned a lemonade stand and she realized that she was pretty thirsty. Lemonade would indeed be lovely, perhaps with a small fruit tart.
Was that the girl who had scared her so much earlier? She couldn't even really remember why she'd been so offput by her. Oh well.. the past was the past.
Had she been freaking out she would have certainly hurt herself or have been hurt by the bat that had finally gotten up and was once again coming after her. Flailing, getting it stuck in her hair, sobbing maniacly as she freaked out about rabies and blood born illnesses. But she was noticably not acting like normal, instead simply trying to shoe it away with a hand.
Her soft voice was barely audible to anyone other than the bat. "Use your radar little guy, you keep running into me." Whoops... her shoeing hand hit it just a little too hard and it poofed!

(Green! Scared!)
"What? I don't have a fork... Layton is not a cupcake. Don't you dare eat her." Callum shouted at Felix. "This place is making you crazy."
Actually, the place seemed to be making everyone crazy, and who could blame them. The space whale was still there, humming away and as it did so Callum turned a deep forest green color. It was like the whale's song was bringing out all of anxiety, turning up the volume of his fears.
"What is that?" A shakey hand pointed at the flock of bats coming towards them. "Jesus Christ." Callum dodged down, wildly flailing at a bat that seemed to want his head. It disappeared into poofof dust with one good hit.
"I killed it...... killed it....." Tears stared to stream down Callum's cheeks. Killing something was not on his list of to do things, even if it was trying to hurt them. The blonde dropped to his knees and clung at his sister's leg like she was a doll. Then he began to rock back and forth murmuring about how he wanted to go back to the office and file some paperwork.

Layton looked down at the now sniveling Callum. Normally? She would've been there in a heartbeat, patting his head, telling him it was okay- calming down his neurotic self.
Now? She could give less of a s**t. As her body turned various shades of yellow, she felt herself caring less and less. She eventually just ended up sitting down on the rainbow path, and not doing anything.
What's that? Bat flying towards her? Whatever. Bat broke her hand? Ow that hurt, but whatever.
Actually wait, that hurt a lot. And why couldn't she comfort Callum? Ow ow ow. This was really painful! Why couldn't she give a ********?! Layton sat there on the path, still doing nothing. The rainbow road ledge looked kind of fun to jump off ... too bad Layton couldn't care enough to jump off it.

The bat was after her again and she gave another swing of her belt, but it was quicker this time, because despite her mellow mood she did not wish to feel any amount of unnecessary pain. She didn't mind being mellowed, she did however mind that she may have sprained her wrist and yet she didn't.
She was trying to fight the emotion that was ruling her currently, but she couldn't. So the swing of her belt had no urgency to it and so the battle knocked her over opening a gash on her shoulder. It wasn't too deep, but her hoodie hung loose of her shoulder, so you could see the blood seep out of the wound.
That hurt, and tears prickled in her eyes. She did not want to be mellow, she wanted to be the adventurer who saved the day. This wasn't like her, not entirely. She fought it.

The bat didn't seem to feel the same way, and circled back around for a second charge.
It rammed into him, hitting the arm that held his shoe with enough force that he dropped it. "Not cool," Ian said, "But if that's how you want to play," he picked the dropped shoe by it's laces with his other hand and began to swing it around. "Then that's how we'll play."

Natalia was still carelessly dancing around with a now dizzy bat which she then tossed high into the air. Higher than she thought possible, really, but then again, she had been dancing around with a wolf-sized bat. And this was space. And there was a space whale. I think logic kinda went and effed itself the moment they were on a ******** rainbow road in space.
And what goes up, must come down. The bat came crashing down as if it was an anvil into the rainbow road. And was now a bat pancake - his head flattened into the pathway, the rest of his body still sticking up in the air, but at an odd, gross angle.
Natalia shrugged and skipped on carelessly. Calm as a cucumber.

This time went the bat doubled back the belt slash came and much quicker and despite her attempting to fight the emotion that ruled her. She needed to focus on the bat which she was finally able to kill and without injury this time.
She couldn't even feel relieved at that. No instead she just shrugged and moved away from the chaos. She wondered where her sock was and turned to search for it. Her hoodie would do her no good in cleaning her cut, nor would anything other article of clothing she was wearing.

She was starting to feel that the sensation of deep overwhelming depression was right, she didn't have a chance against this horrible monster. She'd clearly wounded it badly with her very first attack, but after that, like a cornered animal, it just kept becoming more savage, driving her back until she fell down, and when she tried to kick it away hastily, it bit her savagely on the leg.
If she hadn't been so overwhelmed by the futility of it all, she thought somewhat shockishly, she might have been passively amused by the fact that even her BLOOD seemed to be blue right now. Maybe that made some kind of wierd sense, but she couldn't figure out how. This thing shouldn't exist, but like some kind of horror show monster, it was kicking her a** in spite of it's own implausibility.
There was no wit or rage involved in her reaction, though there was an irrational level of depression at the fact that it had just RUINED her favorite pair of PJ pants, but there was screaming.
It was so damn depressing, she was going to get killed by something she didn't believe in an hour ago! Equally depressing was wondering how things might have gone differently if she had believed in things like magical space beer and space whales.

She lay on the ground for a bit occasionaly giggling and muttering to herself about batman while the leather winged terror fluttered around above her. It seemed to be ignoring her for the moment while she went about ignoring everything else. Maybe it was because she wasn't a threat or maybe it was something else.
It was lucky whatever it was.
While she laughed about 'holy rusted metal' and a few other choice lines the pain of her dislocated and bitten arm started to get to her. It filtered it's way though the wonderful yellow haze that had settled ontop of her and into the bit of her that was still angry.
".... my arm hurts." Rollilng over she looked at the limp appendage while now gold eyes started to focus. ".... OW ... you b*****d." She looked up at the fluttering creature and bit back a hiss of pain as she jerked her injured arm. She'd been in plenty of fights before so this wasn't anything new. She'd broken bones and dislocated fingers but she'd never done it to a whole arm before.
Whimpering she laid down on her arm for a moment and tried to figure out what to do as the bat started to n** at her. She took a deep breath and sat up slightly before squeezing her eyes shut and slamming her shoulder down onto the rainbow walkway. Her teeth bit through her lip moments before she howled in pain. Her arm was back in place but now she was bleeding from two places and her whole side felt like it was on fire from the abused nerves.
