The sword sank in deeper.

Okay. That was it. That was it. If the sword wanted to play this game she could play this game. The banshee stepped back briefly, then jumped forwards, one foot landing on the rock, her palm on the eye-stone. With a grunt she vaulted herself up, other hand covering her first one as she brought her long legs up.

And then she stomped DOWN on the cross handle as hard as she possibly could. She was a ghost, so she didn't have too much weight behind it but god damnit if this sword was going to refuse to do anything but push in deeper then she was going to jacking shove it into the stone until the rock split in two.

"HURYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

(I thought they were taking turns on the same sword, so...uh, if not, just tell me? XD;;; )

Well, Kallos hadn't expected his strength to last, so when the sword didn't budge, he wasn't surprised. After stepping back and letting the banshee have her turns at the sword, Kallos attempted not to stare with the look equivalent to that of a deer's watching a hunter's car going off-roading out of nowhere. That banshee girl was kind of... REALLY SCARY.

Okay, not kind of. She was definitely scary. Plus, she was friends with that shadowy boil from the library. So, she already had terrifying points on her side.

This just made it all the more evident to the Calligraphy Pen Haunt.

Slowly, he took his turn again at the sword. He looked at it's eye, where the ghoul had jabbed it and then where she'd stomped on it, and gave a pitying frown. "Poor thing. You were just doing your job, weren't you..." Well, it had been. It was supposed to be a sword stuck in the stone. It wasn't it's fault the banshee wasn't strong enough to pull it out. In any case, the slight boil again wrapped his hands around the sword's hilt and pulled on it. Not in a swift jerk, but slowly building strength, hoping to slide it cleanly out. (Not that he had a chance of being able to do that, but he could try, after all...)

Aislin - There was that look again. That mocking stare now that the eye was open once again.

Kallos - Rather than jiggling with this attempt, the sword managed to sink slightly further in.

((There's multiple swords on the field now but it isn't a one at a time dealy. Whether you're going after the same sword or a different one is up to you right now since there are a couple out there. XD))

Able to manage and keep her perch on top of the sword Aislin scowled down at that eye and proceeded to jump up and down on it. Over and over. She was going to jackhammer that thing in if it killed her again.

Kallos couldn't help but stare over at the banshee as she violently took to attacking the poor sword. SO SCARYYYYYYYYY.

Hoping not to distract her from her, ah, adventure, the slight haunt looked down to see the sword he was now trying to pull out had slid down a bit into the rock.

He knew it was just playing with him now. Well, might as well attempt to play the game, then.

The ghostly boil again gripped the hilt and pulled back on the sword. How HAD they done it in the legends? Something aqbout benig a chosen something etc etc...Kallos wished he's paid more attention to that part of the tale. Ahh well, improvising worked just as well...?

Aislin - The sword tried not to give but after about the fourth jump, the blade ended up flipping out of the rock rather abruptly before landing in the dirt nearby.
Now roll 1d100 to see if you pull it out of the ground

Kallos - The sword shifted once more! Perhaps it had been loosened for good?

------

Hearing a clang of sorts, Jericho glanced to see that the banshee had finally defeated her foe of a sword. It seemed that she didn't quite pull the sword free, but it was still something he supposed.

"Nice job over there!" he called out.

He just hoped the sword hadn't been damaged in that.

As for the ghost that had come by, the boy seemed a little... on the scrawny side. He wasn't sure if he could pull it off but, he could be proven wrong.

Amrita had been watching the game from afar, merely observing as they all tried to get the swords from the stones, in some case taking turns trying. The fitness booth was the first booth she had come across in the Open House, and as much as she wanted to give it a shot...well, these people were all able and whole bodied! She...was not. Backwards hands twisted uncomfortably and she fidgeted on the sidelines, dealing with an internal struggle. Should she attempt it and hopefully get some experience in confidence, or should she stay on the sidelines to avoid possible (or inevitable) embarrassment.

The little Vetala nibbled on her bottom lip, looking at everyone there; a plethora of strangers, but a few people she recognized as friends. More importantly was the one friend who was more or less making her encouraging more confident behaviour.

Well, the decision was easy after that! Backwards feet took her awkwardly towards the sword closest to her, and once her turn came around she gripped the hilt in the most awkward looking way possible, and tugged.

KLANG-fwip!

The blade bent dangerously, and then suddenly the blade sprung from it's rocky confines. Startled by the sudden triumph Aislin went sprawling into the grass, landing hard on her rear with a grunt. The indignity of her less than graceful success held no sway over her though. Immediately the ghoul rocketed up to her feet and leaped triumphantly into the air, bouncing over to where the sword had embedded itself into the ground.

"YES! YES! WOO! I DID IT. TAKE THAT YOU SWORD! YEAH."

Reaching down Ash grabbed the hilt and went to pull it out of the dirt.

((I will keep ROLLING. Even if it's struck out it is THERE.))

Kallos was actually really proud of himself so far. Considering the fact that he KNEW he had no strength whatsoever, Kallos figured he was actually doing okay. He's actually got it shift a bit more, after all!

Then the crazy banshee ghoul finally got hers out of the rock. Well, kind of, anyway. And another ghoul, this one with her...hands turned backward(?), had appeared, so he'd moved out of the way so she could attempt the game. After she tried it, Kallos again moved back to face the sword. He knew he wouldn't win this game, but ahh well, might as well keep on trying.

Gripping the sword's hilt again, he pulled back on the weapon, using all of his scrawny nonexisting strength.

Amrita - The sword leered at the Vetala and at her attempt.

Aislin - The sword decided to bury itself deeper into the ground before the banshee could get a good hold of it.

Kallos- Once more, the sword shifted out slightly. It was still stuck, but it seemed to have loosened a little more.

---

Seeing that he had one sword not in a stone just yet, Jericho picked it up and took in a deep breath. He charged and managed to ram it into a free rock. There. Now everything was set up.

Glancing to the side, he managed to see Amrita giving it a go. This.. had to be tricky for the girl.

Amrita stared at dismay at the sword as it seemed to leer at her. That! That! That...wasn't very nice! She puffed air at it, then tilted her head to look at the boil who had tried before and after her at the same sword and the way it budged a little bit when he attempted.

"Y-You did much better than, um, than I did." The child murmured, brushing her backwards hands through her hair, her bare toes wiggling together behind her. "I-if you don't mind...?" She gestured towards the sword, wanting another shot. She couldn't very well walk away with the sword leering at her! Her friends were here! Riley was here! New Kids! She had to at least try now.

Aislin sunk to her knees beside the sword. Oh god. She was defeated. All of the rage had been spent on just trying to get it out of the rock and now it was stuck in the soft, loamy dirt and still she couldn't yank it out. The banshee sighed and stared at her pathetic reflection in the blade of the sword.

Reaching up she tried just... simply, gently, easily just plucking it up.

Chun Mu's eyes widened at the banshee, who managed to jump on the sword hard and often enough to get it out of the rock and onto the ground. Chun Mu was glad she didn't get angry enough to resort to that. But with her pathetic strength she probably would have.

During this time, she noticed that another scrawny patchwork was also not having too much success, along with the ghoul with the backwards feet. It would seem that patchwork weren't very strong to Chun Mu. She knelt down and sat to one side, stroking her new minipet's fur as she watched.

Kallos, slightly encouraged by the continued shifting the sword was doing, stared a bit at the sword again. He might just be able to pull this off/out/whatever.

Oh good, it seemed the dragon boil had stuck another sword out for the backward-handed ghoul to attempt. Then, the backward-handed ghoul spoke, and Kallos was reminded by her speech of his own. Seemed she was a bit shy too. "A-ahh t-thank you? I've just b-been working on it for a while, t-that's all..." It seemed the sword was just glaring at her, but then again, she was doing well for her...hand situation. She attempted it again, but it seemed she wasn't doing too well. But then again, Kallos hadn't done well when he'd started either.

Taking up his grip on the sword's hilt again, the extremely scrawny ghost attempted to pull on the sword, with all the might he had. (Which still...wasn't a lot. At all.)

Amrita - There was no leering this time around. Instead, the sword just moved a little further into the rock.

Aislin - The sword seemed to like the gentle approach because it did not struggle at all as the banshee went to grab it. It slid out of the ground with ease.

Kallos - While it moved for Amrita, the blade just stared at Kallos like it was making fun of the ghost for that attempt.
