Alex winced and looked away from him. "I'm just....not in the mood for that. I'm feeling rather frustrated, so I doubt playing games like that would do much for my mood. Besides, I left Sapphire back at the Manor. It's been hours. All I've done is waste time."

Luke didn't seem reassured. "It was my idea to come here..." he said, still in that dejected tone. "Blame me. I didn't do as that Lantern asked and that made you get hurt more... If I hadn't been so stupid, maybe..."

Alex winced again and moved faster towards the door. "I.....uh.....I was referring to going back to sleep. I was perfectly fine when I tried coming onto you, wasn't I? We should have left then." she replied. Trying not to let him guilt her into anything this time.

Luke didn't seem to get what Alex was saying. "Yeah, but... You were hurt because of me. I was so angry that I wasn't... wasn't thinking clearly. You almost died..."
At this point, his voice seemed to break, and his pheromones were giving off actual despair-- or at least he was on the verge of it.

...damn it....damnitdamnitdamnit.... Alex thought as she stopped and turned around to face him. "You almost died too....there wasn't much either of us could have done differently about that situation. If you had done what he wanted the first time, he would have tried to kill you just the same. He could have killed me on the spot and had both of us attack you." she said gently. "I'm not mad at you. I'm not. You did what you thought would work. You didn't know he could make my injuries worse like that." she said, then paused a moment and grinned. "Although....you did do one thing right today..."

Luke blinked; he was so shocked, his photographic memory didn't kick in immediately.
"... I did?" he asked blankly, before the memories kicked in. "I... did, didn't I?" he asked, with a large, boyish grin on his face and a reddish tint to his cheeks.
"That... that was my first kiss..." he said softly, looking away shyly.

"After you fainted from the kiss on the cheek, I'm not surprised." Alex replied with a grin. Then gently took his chin to turn his face around to look at her. "And setting exhaustion and burning nerve cells aside...it was one hell of a first kiss."

"I should've done what he asked... you wouldn't have been hurt so badly, I think," he said to her.

Alex's smile fell as well. "Who knows what he actually would have done. I may not have been able to help you if you had done what he asked. But it's alright. I'm fine now." she replied.

Alex paused a moment, then sighed and glanced away. "I....I suppose so." she replied. "Should either go back and try to look for Batman again, or go back and check on Sapphire." she replied.
