 A race that can't show a little compassion is damned to failure. You can't blame the people living on the strings the puppetmaster has been pulling.  Overlord...? He knows you're all here. He's a terrible man. Please help me...  *Gaertim headed up the final staircase along with Leucosia, saying nothing to anyone present*

 'She has a point, though,' Evza quietly added. 'The Guardians haven't exactly been doing what the overlord wants because they're in fear of their lives, or being coerced in some other way. They enjoy treating those they deem as "lesser" like dogs.'  'I don't trust you,' Gallaine bluntly told Diedra. 'Why should we help?'

 Something doesn't seem right about all of it though... *MK reverted to time lord form, calming himself and watching over Diedra*Many a guardian seem to be taking on this lifestyle without question, but for all the years your people have lived differently before then... 'So what do you want to do? Take her with us? How do you know this isn't a trick?' Gallaine challenged, glaring suspiciously at Diedra. Evza muttered "we've got an overlord to fight", and took off after Kelissa, Paris and Jervaid behind her.

Gallaine knelt down and looked Diedra straight in the eyes. 'If this is a trick, just know that I won't hesitate in turning you to ashes.'

Still looking unconvinced, Gallaine ran out after them.  Up on the roof of the Black Citadel, the overlord stood, as he did the last time any of the resistance met him. He turned his head slightly when he heard Kelissa appear behind him, but did not move around to look at her. He clutched his Quandao in his hands, listening keenly at the woman's footsteps. He heard more accompany them as the rest of the group joined Kelissa, and the only sign he gave that he had noticed them was a low laugh.

Finally turning around to look at the resistance, his eyes narrowed behind the mask when he noticed Diedra. 'I see you've switched sides,' he said, in a deep rumble of a voice. 'You know the cost for betrayal. Perhaps...you don't appreciate that life you were so generously granted...'

'Then rest assured, if you stand against me, you will have your peace in death,' the overlord snarled.  Jervaid hurried forwards to start the attack, axe in hands. Before he had a chance to sink the blade into the overlord's chest plate, it shrank to nothing. There was just a dull thud of wood on metal. The overlord used Jervaid's bewildered distraction to his advantage, clubbing him over the head with his Quandao, and knocking him off the roof.

 *Leucosia started next, heading over to the side and going invisible. With all her focus the clouds overhead darkened further, and it began to rain down on the tower*I won't fall at the hands of a man.
*Kneeling down, vines leaped out from her body and into cracks in the stone, weaving through and to where the Overlord was standing, coming back out around him and trying to entangle him where he stood*
