Koko now had her rifle leant against her shoulder as she wandered through the city. She wondered if anyone else would try to attack her; she wasn't particularly fond of killing people, but it pissed her off when they tried to gang up on her & capture/kill her. Most people she passed would keep a fair distance from her, especially when they saw the rifle, but a few idiots (whether drunk or otherwise) would try to beckon her over or wolf-whistle. One particular man thought it would be clever to grope her backside, only to get a heavy smack round the head with the butt of her gun.
Eventually the mercenary came up to the Aiolos, noticing the tall person from earlier was still around. A flash of anger pulsed through her as she strode closer to the Aiolos. Just in front of where she knew the shield would be, she stopped & tilted her head in the man's direction. She noticed he had a slightly shocked expression on his face & she thought he'd be wondering what happened to the men he'd sent to catch her.
"Hey buster. Thought it was funny to send your little gang after me huh? Don't try to deny it, I recognised a few of them - they were hanging around you weren't they? I don't much like being set upon ya know...."
In a flash she'd fired her rifle & a circular hole appeared between the man's eyes. Then she turned back to the ship, her face dark.
"Let me in Zed, before I kill anyone else."

Zed deactivated the sheild and let Koko in. He dumped the sack of supplies into the cargo bay then headed to the cockpit.
He sat down in is seat and watched a fleet of airships approach on the radar.
"You seen the bounty notices? That is one huge reward..."
The radio started picking up chatter from the airships.
#"... shut it Redwing 3! we need that bounty money to pay for repairs to the city's water system, not buy a new car..."#
Zed turned off the radio and put his helmet on.

Koko sat down in the gunner chair not long after the radio was turned off. She lowered her head slightly,
"Yeah I saw 'em. Some idiots tried to take me out for that reward, so I shot 'em. I'm so freakin' pissed off with people trying to kill me my whole life! If it isn't someone who thinks I'm a freak it's bounty hunters!"
She let out a yell then turned away, facing the controls. Slipping on her helmet she activated the Aiolos' turret systems & waited for Zed to fly the craft out.
"Oh by the way.... I need to have a talk with you when we get outta here."

The Aiolos floated off of the airstrip and hovered over the city for a moment as Zed turned the ship.
The small airships opened fire on the Aiolos, but the bullets couldn't break through the barrier shield.
Seconds later, the Aiolos was dissappearing over the horizon.
"You wanted a talk?"

Very slowly, Koko turned off the turrets & removed her helmet, before turning in the chair to face Zed. She let her hair hide her face as she spoke, her voice fairly level.
"I wanted.... to apologise.... I got us into some major s**t on that other sleeper ship, I just don't know what happened to me."
Her voice began to break up now, stopping in places as she took a shallow breath.
"&, because of that, you lost your arm.... I didn't mean... for it to happen... I didn't want you to get hurt.... I feel like I'm going to lose you... j-just.. like...... Finn...."
A single tear slid down her cheek & dropped onto the floor from where she was leant forward.

Zed sighed then turned to Koko.
"Look, Koko... I knew we'd run into trouble on that ship, it was obvious... but there were thousands of lives at stake, we saved lots of people... and I only lost my arm because I was too slow"
He stopped the ship beside a huge sand dune.

Koko shook her head, putting her palms on her face as more tears threatened to spill.
"I could... have lost you.... what would I have done if you'd.... if you'd...."
She trailed off, unable to finish the sentence. Instead she worked on breathing deeply, still keeping her head down.

Zed stood up and lifted Koko's chin with one finger.
"you could of lost me, but you didn't... So you shouldn't be sad..."
He smiled then took off his helmet.

Koko's eyes were wide & had tears brimming at the lids. She took a small glance at Zed's metal arm & cringed, shutting her eyes tight for a moment before looking at the pilot's face again.The mercenary's hair stuck slightly to her face where the tear had run down.
"I know.... but.... I was scared. I couldn't do anything to save him.... & I thought the same thing was going.... to happen again.... but with you..."

Zed brushed away the hair that'd stuck to Koko's face then kissed her.

Koko's eyes widened & shook a little bit when Zed kissed her. She made a small 'squeak' sound & lifted one hand slightly as though to push him away. Instead, after a moment, she laid the palm lightly on his arm (the non-metal one), closed her eyes & kissed back.

Before Koko opened her eyes, Zed ran down through the ship.
"Follow me!"
He opened up the airlock then dived out onto a large sand-dune.

Koko shook her head slightly & rolled her eyes, jogging after Zed & stopping at the airlock.
"You're crazy, ya know that?"
That said, she nevertheless leapt out of the ship & landed neatly beside the pilot, looking around.
"So, what are we doing out here?"

Koko put her knuckles against her forehead & sighed heavily.
"Honestly, what is with you?"
She rolled her eyes & put her hands on her hips; then she smirked & removed her trenchcoat before bundling it neatly & shoving it into a holder on her thigh. For a moment she stood & watched Zed as he finished rolling down the dune, the wind blowing her hair slightly. Suddenly, she ran at the edge & did a swan-dive type move off the sand dune before curling into a roll & following the pilot down.
