 ZoriZori flattened her ears in irritation. "Funny. I'm amused to no end. Absolutely breathless with laughter." The silver and charcoal Eevee replied sourly, swishing her tail with impatience. The nurses had taken the brace off her leg, as it was safe to stand on now, but her head was still wrapped up. She flicked an ear around, turning her head sharply to stare at the egg. "It moved!" She cried, both shocked and awed. She touched her nose to it curiously.

Xavier set the egg on his back on a nearby chair and with a chuckle leapt up onto the bed to lean down and examine the one Zori was guarding.
"You got this a while back didnt you? It must be ready to hatch." The Umbreon sniffed at the egg, a cold scent filling his nose and then sat back on his haunches.
"Wonder what ice type it is."

ZoriZori watched it rock back and forth, and she swept her fluffy tail protectively around it, to keep it from falling off the edge of the bed. "I just hope it's not a Swinub. I don't have the funds to feed something with an appetite like that." She murmured, slightly worried. Her large, amber eyes widened as a small crack spread across the side of the egg.

 Mitch & Vienna Mitch crawled away from Vienna frantically, noticing that the little child was approaching him. He noticed he was beside a door, and he curiously looked in.
Inside, a black eevee (the one from before) seemed to be watching her egg hatch. Mitch sighed sadly. The lucky Eevee would probably get a boy, no doubt.
Mitch looked back at his own little "bundle of joy," who was currently stumbling towards him with a sad look on her face. He had already given her a name, though he didn't know why.
The name "Vienna" had just fit her.

"Or a Sneasel. Arceus knows there are too many of them as it is." He added, laughing at the thought of yet another Weavile running around eventually.
The Umbreon leapt back with a start as a crack suddenly shot across the egg , nearly falling off the bed.
"Whoa, its hatching!" He'd never been witness to an egg hatching before.

 Zori & AisuZori watched, wide-eyed, as something pale and green through the shell of the ice-cold egg. You could see the green and white body inside moving around through the little opening, but it couldn't break free. She instinctively tilted her head, and hooked her sharp fangs around the edge of the broken shell, pulling it apart. She didn't think. She just... did. She watched the baby Lapras spill out onto the bed. It was so tiny! She curled her tail around the baby Pokemon, nuzzling it sweetly. The baby Lapras, which she'd taken the liberty of naming Aisu, began sucking on it's fin.

"Daw." A Lapras! He only knew of one other Lapras in the guild.
And such odd coloring.
Ha, that coming from the Houndoom-looking Umbreon.
"What do you plan on naming...her?" It took him a moment to figure out the tiny things gender.

Zori & AisuZori nuzzled the Lapras, and it squealed quietly, sucking on the Eevee's charcoal ear. "...I think that I'll name her Aisu." Aisu continued to suck on her ear. Zori gently removed her ear from the little creature's mouth, and rasped her tongue over it's head. The little Pokemon rested it's head down on her tail and fell asleep. Zori's eyes glowed with pride. "...So this is what it feels like... to have a child...." She glanced up at Xavier. "...Although, I suspect it's still different yet again.... for it to really be yours..."

Mitch & Vienna Mitch smiled lightly. The Lapras WAS cute... And, since it was only a baby, it couldn't be harmful, like most women...
Mitch then had an epiphany. "I'll just treat her as if she were a boy!" Mitch shouted happily, jumping up and down and clapping his hands.
That was it! Vienna would be raised to have a naturally boyish attitude! Mitch went over to Vienna and picked her up.
She did look awfully girlish, though, since she had found that boy and her hair was so long... But appearance didn't matter. Mitch smiled. This girl would act like the perfect little boy! Cadarl Cadarl floated into the hospital, glancing around. He began to float through the halls, although she looked backwards to watch for Suki.

"Nice name."
The Umbreon frowned suddenly. Not at Zori's words exactly, but at a memory that they caused.
"...yeah...it is...a far more powerful feeling when it's yours."
He sighed and leapt off the bed, strolling to retrieve his little sister and set the egg on his back.
"I...uh...I have to go. I'll visit you later Zori. Maybe someplace other than the hospital."
It was a joke, but his tone was not cheerful in the least.
Without another word Xavier slipped out the room.

 SukiSuki floated in after Cadarl, brushing shoulders with him to let him know that she was there. She kissed him silently, blushing through her pale, ghostly skin. She gestured down a hallway, pointing to Mitch. She'd taken the liberty of locating him for the Shuppet. The strange little Chimchar was twirling around a little, very feminine, Ralts. "Isn't that... a female...?" She whispered quietly.

ZoriZori watched Xavier leave, her expression blank with shock. What had she said? She felt the contentment in her belly disappear. She'd hurt him. Guilt washed over her like a wave as she curled her tail around the sleeping Lapras. He had a child. She never knew. That also meant that- She flattened her ears, suddenly very unhappy. She felt like running away and hiding, like a frightened child. But the chains held her bound. She couldn't move.

Cadarl nodded at Suki, noting her kiss with quiet satisfaction. He had always found that he had a silently charming quality about him, but... This seemed kind of sudden.
He blushed.
He floated up towards Mitch, looking a bit worried. "So it is a female... Have you named her?" Cadarl asked without tone.
Mitch grinned. "No, she's going to be a HE, and HIS name is Vienna!" Mitch exclaimed.
Cadarl sighed. Mitch had officially gone bonkers.
Mitch then noticed Suki and yipped, hiding behind the nearest corner. It was apparent that only ADULT females scared him poopless.
"Hello, Vienna," Cadarl smiled sweetly, leaning down to hug the feminine Ralts.
Vienna returned Cadarl's statement with a big smile and a big hug. "Daddy!" she shouted, and Cadarl's eyes grew wide. What an odd feeling he had... Almost like... Devotion.

Zori & Suki & AisuSuki smiled, nodding politely to the group before vanishing into Zori's room. She spotted the chains and collar and her eyes widened with worry. She floated over. "Oh, Zo... What happene-" She paused, gasping in delight at the sight of the tiny baby Lapras pressed up against Zori's side. Zori didn't look so good, but she spoke up anyway. "Her name is Aisu. It means ice. Thought it would be only fitting." The Eevee murmured sadly. Suki seemed confused by her partner's grief, but she understood that she was, in fact, very proud of their new recruit. Suki glanced over at the chains, and broke them off of her partner. "Cmon; let's take Aisu and get out of here before somebody catches us." Suki muttered, taking the bandage off Zori's head. The Eevee nodded, and Suki placed the Lapras on her back. She was tiny enough that Zori didn't even have to strain her newly-healed leg to carry her. Then, all three Pokemon left the hospital, Suki waving slightly at Cadarl on their way past.

The Umbreon slipped back into Lucy's office, egg in tow and set the baby down on the floor in front of the desk.
Arceus, what was wrong with him?
He thought he'd gotten over that depression, but here it was in full swing.
"Maybe...maybe I should tell Lucy the truth...", he closed his eyes in thought.
Would she hate him for it? For leaving Lilac there alone with...
His ears twitched suddenly at a sound.
Tapping? Where was it coming from?
