Kai flinched slightly from Katie's claws, but other then that he didn't seem bothered by what either of the girls' said. He hesitantly put a rant on Katie's head, "..sorry if I made you remember something bad..."

Emily smirked at the picture before her, watching as Katie snuggled closer to Kai. She just wished Katie would be more serious sometimes.

"no i dont really feel all that bad about these two. in truth, its mostly just my bird nature talking" she looked curiously at katie digging her claws into kai. " 'you know, you can substitute kittie for woman in the quote hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' then she leaned back, stretching her wings out to their full 14foot span, nearly touching. the walls. 'kai do you mind if i take off my shoes?, my talons need a stretch. without waiting for a reply, she sat down and revealed the wide, half foot, half talon toes her wide loose Vans had been hiding. she flashed a grin at the others. these make shoes a little odd, i have to have custom made gel soles, but they never stink and perching is kinda fun.'

Lynn Winds walked through the residential area of the town. Tracking half-breeds wasn't easy business, especially the one named Emily Perkins. Being an agent in Her Majesty's Service, she tracked the girl to a pleasure cruiser. Although she thought of it as an unsavory experiance, she followed Perkins to New York. That's where it had gotten tricky. After tracing and retracing the girl's trail, she wound up here. She mentally went over the events of the day. Incident at the mall, a small sighting at a quaint little park. A few American agents eliminated by civilians..... and a few confirmed half-breed sightings. "Where are you Perkins?", she thought out loud. She pulled out an older photograph of a little girl smiling, holding a birthday gift. It was the only thing the forencics team could salvage from the burned carcass of a house. Lynn sighed. She hoped it wasn't a false lead. The town was, by her opinion, out in the middle of nowhere.

Kai gazed and admired Falcon's wings, then glanced at her talon-feet..she could probably easily kill someone with those. It didn't really bother him though, it wasn't hard to kill people. Kai had to resist the slight urge to pet Katie as he would a regular cat, it wasn't too bad since he was more of a dog person anyway.

Lynn walked away from the house. She wasn't having much luck with the door-by-door questioning. She walked up to a different house and knocked on the door.
Emily heard the knocking on the door, her tail stiffining. She ran into the hallway soundlessly, hauling her backpack and coat with her.

kiana's gaze shot in the direction of the door at the knock then back to kai, then to emily as the girl ran from the room. 'expecting visitors?' she asked their host quietly.

When Katie heard the knock, her body stiffened and her claws went deeper than with the threat of the dog.. She stood up, fixing her hair so that her ears were not noticeable and hid her tail. All while she continued to cling to Kai. To her this was his chance to prove to them that he would not betray them. But in case he did, she didn't want to be too far away from being able to use her claws.. She hoped for the first while fearing the latter.

"...no..." He answered Falcon as he gently pried Katie off and pulled a blanket on her that was on the couch, knowing the spot were Falcon was sitting wasn't really visible from the door. He walked over to the door, opened it a few inches and leaned on the frame as he looked at the girl that knocked. "Can I help you with something miss?"

kiana snatched up her thick black trench coat from where s had dropped it with her weapons, hiding her wings as best she could. the effect made her look a bit like one of this heavy built weight lifter chicks who took steroids, but it was better than her secret getting into the general populace. claenching her hands to hide the talon like nails that were sprouting from her fingers, she limped over to her vans and cast a tense look at katie. she slipped over to the girl as unobtrusivel as possible and handed her one of her wicked sharp knives. 'get ready to run.'

Lynn watched as the door cracked open and a young man was behind it. "Ah, hello sir", she said, her British accent showing. "I need to ask a few questions". She held up the picture of a Young Emily. "Have you seen this girl?", she asked.

Kai recognized the younger 'Miss' in the photo, but just looked like he was trying to think if had seen her or not. "..sorry, I don't think I have... Did she run away or something?" He asked for two reasons, 1: if he tried to get that woman to leave too quickly she might suspect something, and 2: he was curious about their pasts and who was really after them.

Lynn smiled a neutral smile. "Yes, in a way. She's been running for quite a while now". Lynn rubbed her arms a little, trying not to act unprofessionaly. "Mind if I come in?. It's a bit chilly out here".

Kai wasn't too bad at coming up with stories on a seconds notice, now wasn't any different.. He looked at bit sad, "Ah, I'd invite you in, but my sister has a touch of the flu. She's resting in my room, but I'd rather not get a stranger sick..." That was a hint for Falcon, Miss and Katie to hide in his room in case the woman wouldn't leave.
