William nodded dumbly, a little embarrassed. "I see. Thank you," he said. He almost told her that the guard had fallen asleep, but he thought best not to. "It has been a long journey here, would you mind if I stayed the night here?" he asked, unsure if he would be welcomed or not. Either way, I'm sure I'll be fine...

Lyra grunted, seeing no humans near and remembered she was near that place. Her blood started to boil, sensing all the angel's prence and it made her just want to throw up. She rolled her eyes, flying in the other direction as she tried to find food once more.

Calix woke up in the inn after a while, finally refreshed from the day. He got up and walked down the stairs, waving to the inn maid as he walked out the door. He decided to try and find Jillian and the others, they had been gone for a while now. He went into the building he had left them at and found Jillian. "Hey, how's everything going?" he asked, his voice still a bit raspy from sleep.

William nodded to Jillian, saying, "Thank you, ma'am." He turned to the newcomer ((Calix)) and nodded a hello. He noticed his voice was a little raspy, so he quickly handed him a small canteen filled with water. "Sounds like you need a drink," he said, smiling. "Good morning, by the way. My name is William."

Calix nodded and accepted the canteen. "Calix. Nice to meet you," he said before taking a drink from the canteen. He held it back out to William and said "Thanks. I needed that."

William simply shrugged, accepting the canteen back. "Glad to be of use. I don't want to be dead weight around here. There's nothing worse to me than somebody who doesn't do anything."

Calix's eyes widened for a moment, he had completely forgotten about that incident. He sighed heavily before explaining. "Olin...was turned into a vampire. He went out to the woods and got jumped. He managed to kill it, but he got bit first. I...I should have known better than to stand aside," he said, his voice filled with remorse. He sighed again, keeping his head turned down, and continued "I haven't seen him since," he said quietly.

"Calix... I know how you feel. I'm not sure how you're going to take this, but don't let it haunt you. I mean, don't forget it, but don't let it slow you down," William said, with a sort of wisdom-from-experience kind of tone behind it. "We all make mistakes; the ones you do make you can't dwell on. Sorry if I sound harsh, but it's the only way I can say it." That's just about the only thing that saved my life out there... he thought, almost glancing back, but thinking better of it.

Calix quietly nodded, understanding that what William said was true. Unfortunately, Calix wasn't the kind of person to let things go so easily. He had to let them dwell, at least for a little while, before he felt justified.

William almost smiled, catching the slightest glimpse of what Calix was thinking. "Just don't let it keep you down, alright Calix? That's all I'm saying. It's okay if you think about it for a while, and learn from it, I'm just saying not to dwell on it too long. That's when it gets dangerous." He gave Calix a friendly smile, trying to cheer him up. Whatever good that would do. At least I'm trying...

Calix nodded again and simply replied "Yeah. Thanks." He knew it wouldn't be long before he moved past it, so he pushed it to the back of his mind for the time being.

((hi guys, me thinks i'll play Arc. Please tell me where you guys are so I don't talk to someone in another city, thanx!))
Neferous snuck off into the angel city. He obviously didn't blend well with the public and immediately attracted attention. Thankfully Arc was with him the whole time. With a few suspicious glances and spiteful spits, they pressed through the streets.
