VTMarik I'm beginning to wonder if I should make a list of Indian and Egyptian weapons to add to the Eastern list. Not so sure about Indian, I have no real opinion there. But Egyptian would be wonderful! xd

VTMarik Anduril Meh? That sounds a little sketchy to me... Geomancer makes me think of earth mages for some reason. I don't know how he explained why they'd get access to all the elements, so I'll go look. I don't think that is "Geo" as in "Geology [Earth Element]" but rather Geo in reference to the planet Earth. The planet encompasses all the elements really. Light from the sun, darkness from the lack of sun, fire from the core, earth from the crust, water from the oceans, and air from the sky. Tewchnically a druid then o.o that focuses more on there arts than therre ability to survive in the forest o.o

I'm thinking Egyptian weapons are probably more like Western weapons. Location wise, they are a lot closer to Europe than Japan. Indian weapons are fairly far east though, and have that oriental air about them.

HeavenSong Then again, a weapon is only cool if one uses it properly, right? 3nodding *Makes his obligatory once-in-a-decade stop by.* ...yep. And far too few people do that. A weapon has an intended use, and that is what it is designed for. Don't use a club to try and stab, don't try and beat someone to death with a tanto... they each are intended for something, and if you don't use them the way they were meant to be used, their effectiveness drops FAST. xp

Though there is something to be said for using a weapon creatively. Like getting a specially forged blade for a rapier so it can be sharpened and used like some kind of carving knife. Though stabbing someone with a club is sort of pointless, unless there's a lot of power behind it. O_O Chaos: What? What isn't cool about a shamshir being used to slice an opponent to ribbons. Or frigging tanwars! Duude, think about it.

Yay, weapons! But I thought there were also three-pronged Sai, like mini tridents.
Mace... morning star... ball-with-spikes-on-chain.... sweatdrop What exactly are maces used for?
Sure you can use a weapon incorrectly, and it's overall effectiveness drops... but that doesn't mean you can't do damage with it. ninja Like a baseball bat... is made for hitting balls...
What about Chinese weapons, like the kwangdo (kwangduo? kwangdou? ><; Something like that) and the tiger fork? And for the tessen... shouldn't the kind with fabric and razors be called something else? I thought tessens were the pure beat-the-hell-out-of-the-other-person and the slash-and-bash fans were called something else.

But when I read what you said the image of war-fans poped into my head.... I blame it on Dynasty Warriors 4.... Regardless, I need to work more on this character that is crawling around my skull. Sadly, I forgot some of the fine details. And it is so hard to have an androgyneous (SP?) character when you keep wanting to type 'him' or 'her'.... crying

Mace is used for incapacitating rowdy individuals, hopefully with allergic reactions as their eyes burn.
Oh, THAT mace.
Yeah, crushing people inside their armor. Or crushing them outside their armor. Or as SJ puts it as being extreme, Caving someone's skull in. xd

They cannot call up sprites like an elemental mage if the sprites do not already exist in close proximity. Or something. I'm still iffy on it, which is why I asked for opinion.

Songjewel They cannot call up sprites like an elemental mage if the sprites do not already exist in close proximity. SPIRITS, not SPRITES. And I already had that covered in my old magic explaination... that spirits of one element would tend to avoid the ones of opposite alignment or such... like fire spirits would avoid water, darkness and light spirits normally wouldn't be in the same place air spirits wouldn't want to confine themselves to closed spaces, like a labrynth... stuff like that. It doesn't mean they can't be called up, just that it would take more effort for the mage to convince them to show themselves. (or something like that)
