If you go into your account options there's an option to not log you on when you log into gaia.

I can't get them either, that's why I'm glad most of my friends use AIM or Skype, I don't get many if any GIMs

A while back I discovered that I can get into my GIMs via AIM by signing in as requiemx@gaiaonline.com, since if you get disconnected from zOMG and sign back in, the AOLbot tells you you're logged in in two locations. Which is an AIM feature. So I signed in on my AIM application...to find it is my zOMG clan being a bunch of chatty cathies.
-sigh-
But now I've disabled the auto sign in to GIM.
Edit: I love skype, but it eats up download rate and I get disconnected a lot.

it uses a lot of memory while its in use too, I have to stop all my downloads and close everything else to be able to talk to my family back in the states.

I will get a post out this morning. I had to grade all night last night so that took up my time.
Game time shift to Muir Island will happen Sunday evening so try to wrap up any loose ends if you can.
