Celebor's frown deepened. "Do you know who else might be up this early in the morning for him to get into a fight with?" he asked. "I still don't know peoples' habits here ... you would know better than I would."
Maybe if they didn't know he would have to ask around. See what was going on. He knew Ruran looked for trouble, but ...

"Celebor, that's most people around here," Ryu pointed out, "The day always starts early and with Ulani and Ulrich literary having a little farm here even more so. I mean... of course Ulani, Aliya and Rose will be up, we were just heading to Aliya's for breakfast... and Adonijah of course looks after the farm animals. Amdir probably would be heading to the Ranch to train the horses...."
And the list sort of went on from there.
"At least there aren't many people here in the valley..." Feng offered.

Celebor nodded. That much was true, at least.
"Ulrich," he called over his shoulder, "change of plans. I have to track down Ruran. I'll see you later."
He closed the door behind himself, his face grim. "It looks like I'm coming with you for a bit," he said softly.

Feng motioned for Celebor to follow, "Hopefully he didn't run too far."
She wasn't at all sure how far a little boy like him could run, especially since this place was still somewhat new (it didn't help he sulked a lot to himself as far as she could tell).

Celebor followed after the others. "You might be surprised," he said softly. "They spent the better part of a year on a mountaintop ... and Lin would be able to tell you what that kind of training does to you. Ruran could run twice as far as anyone down here and not even feel tired."
One thing he had to give his son credit for: even if he was an a**, he had trained well.

"Well.. then that might be a problem," Ryu murmured.
Picking up the pace they headed back to where they had been talking to Ruran and using that as a point of reference going in the direction he had been running in.

Celebor shrugged. "If I have to borrow a horse, then that's what I'll do," he said quietly. "Though I hope I won't have to."
He looked out in the direction that Ruran's tracks were headed. "I might have to go back for some weapons in case I have to go far," he murmured. He sighed and shook his head. "Foolish boy."

Feng frowned as if trying to see how far the tracks goes, "Has the children been warned not to go out far?"
Even though there hadn't been another kidnapping like Adan's, there was always the fear. When the day came that Naida could walk, she was not letting her walk off far.
"Come on," Ryu motioned, "If we run we might at least get an idea how far he went."

Celebor raised one eyebrow. "Do you really think he would listen, no matter how many times he was told?" he questioned. "He thinks humans are weak, that they would never be a match for him. He hasn't seen the animals here. He has no fear."
He shook his head. "For the first time, I think I'm actually hoping he did steal his knives again."
At least then he wouldn't be totally defenseless.
"Feng," he said, "you should take Naida for breakfast. Ryu, I won't stop you from coming with me, though I would appreciate if you did."

"Alright," Feng murmured hugging Naida close.
She was certainly worried about Ruran. Ryu nodded though, he didn't mind, he could understand why Celebor was worried.
"I'll go with you," Ryu replied.

Celebor nodded. "Thanks," he said briskly. "We'd better go quickly. Come on."
And he started off after his son's trail, his face set in concentration and worry.

Ryu hurried after Celebor hoping that everything was alright. After all he had made Ruran upset (even though he still didn't like the kid all that much).
Feng sighed as she watched Celebor and Ryu run off before turning to walk back to Aliya's place.
"Will it be okay?" Naida asked.
"I'm sure it will be..."

As they followed after Ruran's trail, Celebor couldn't help but ask Ryu for more details about what had happened.
"What was he talking about?" he questioned. "Why was he upset? Did he say?"
It wasn't that he blamed Ryu, he was just trying to get inside his kid's head - a task that seemed impossible, but something he wanted to do nonetheless, to try to understand his thought processes, to try to eventually help him.

Ryu sighed, "Well he was wet when we found him and Feng wanted to make sure he was alright. When Naida mentioned he should go home and get changed he got into a tirade with Feng about how they all had no home. He seemed to be under the impression that he and his siblings will never call his place home. Home to him is having a place where he belongs as a race...."
He shrugged a bit and continued onwards.
"Of course it ended in the usual... about strength...."

Celebor shook his head. "I just can't understand him," he muttered. "Why? Niyana is perhaps not a warrior, but ... she is very strong. Why can't he just ... accept what he is? Or at least accept that he has to eventually settle in with some people around him? He has to get along with eomsone eventually!"
