For the time being, Sukotto figured that he had covered most of the ways one could avoid or counter physical weapon, taijutsu, and ninjutsu attacks. He figured that it was time to move onto the more difficult things to prepare for, hidden shinobi, traps, and genjutsu. First, Sukotto decided to cover the bit about hidden shinobi and traps, as the skills needed to prepare against them both were exactly the same. In the shinobi world, one could take the option of using stealth to complete their objectives. Sukotto had attempted to nudge Uchiha Senritsu in this direction because he believed that it was the second most effective way for a shinobi to go about achieving their objective, genjutsu being the first in his opinion. These hidden shinobi, if well trained, employed the use of traps to hinder, snare, or even kill their enemies. The traps were usually well hidden, so if a shinobi was well versed in detecting objects and people, then they would be able to avoid these dangers. Sukotto himself was lucky enough to have a kekkai genkai that allotted him an enhanced detecting skill, enabling him to see things more clearly than most other shinobi of his age level. Unfortunately for his squad members, this was not the case.

In order for his two squad members to be truly competent at detecting hidden traps or shinobi, Sukotto decided that they would have to work as a team, given that they didn't have any sort of enhanced detection abilities, like himself. While the pair couldn't help each other to dodge techniques, that didn't make sense and to Sukotto's logic at the time seemed impossible, but they could in fact assist each other in trap or enemy shinobi detection, as they'd have the option to relay valuable information to each other, this enabling them to use each other's skill with detect as though they were a single shinobi. This led Sukotto to an idea that at first, seemed a bit off, but the more he thought about it, the more he seemed to like it. He thought that he would train Serena and Shisei so that they could work together in certain areas, but would also make sure to get them even stronger in other areas, just in case they ended up fighting one against one in a battle. Since they couldn't help each other out with dodging, this would be one of the skills each of them individually would be adept with. Weapons were a bit tricky, as it really depended on the respective shinobi's interest, but Sukotto really wanted them to be able to use their weapons in conjunction with each other, and that meant they'd have to have a lower level of skill in it.

Indeed, if they were each skilled at detecting, then the two would be unstoppable against a stealthy and/or trapped based shinobi. While there were only actually a fraction of ninja who were versed on those areas, it was always important to cover as many areas as possible, and Sukotto strongly felt that teamwork was the way to go in those cases. After feeling as though he had covered the detection end of the spectrum in the shinobi world, Sukotto then turned his attention to what he believed to be the most fearsome form of offensive strategy, genjutsu. While it was similar to detect in that teamwork could trounce it if properly prepared, it was a serious enough kind of technique that Sukotto also wanted Serena and Shisei to be capable of handling it on their own if ever faced with one in a one versus one battle. In Sukotto's mind, genjutsu had near endless possibilities, as a truly skilled genjutsu user could basically transport their opponent into a world that was under control of the former. Every rule and law would be set by the genjutsu-based shinobi, and no skill or ability was safe from a powerful shinobi of this type. Sukotto definitely didn't want either of his squad mates to ever face a genjutsu shinobi on their own while unprepared.

Unfortunately, Sukotto had been faced with such a situation, and that was pretty much the main reason that he had respected genjutsu to this high degree. He had fought a shinobi who had transported him into a world in which Sukotto was forced to face an exact copy of himself. This clone wasn't the typical bunshin, as in Sukotto's mind, it was tangible and very capable of dealing damage to him. In addition, if Sukotto used chakra in this illusion to battle against the clone, he could actually feel the drain that was put upon himself, which meant that he was being tricked into actually spending it. The terrible thing was, since it was a replica of the Uchiha, he had known that his dodge skill had been off the charts for a shinobi of his level, and that his regular taijutsu at the time hadn't been capable of hitting the illusion. The only option was the Phoenix Flower, but Sukotto insisted on trying a taijutsu attack, since he had no clue what sort of ninja awaited him outside of the illusion, and if they were capable enough to cast such a powerful jutsu against him, he was certain that they would be powerful in their own right. Unfortunately, his attack had missed, and the clone successfully connected with the Phoenix Flower itself, beating Sukotto to the punch and defeating the real Uchiha.

No idea had gotten anywhere. It seemed like the Raiken didn’t have any plans either. This then made the next hour a silent staring contest between the team of genin and academy student against the chuunin superior. Shisei felt it was shameful that they could not make any progress after this entire time. Regardless if Sukotto was an advanced student he should have been able to make some type of strike. “I should probably fall back on my first idea and somehow use her as a distraction…” the Orochi youth contemplated, trying to find use for his teammate. Yet something was awry with the situation. With him…. It was not something the chuunin was doing… was it? “This feeling…” Shisei held his head feeling confused and not within his body. The serpentine eyes closed from the world, but darkness is not what waited behind his eyelids.
Instead was a view of his body? From behind and above at an angle. As if a bird was flying over and watching over him. Or maybe some type of evil shade. What was this feeling? That noise? That shriek? The eyes pierced open again and glared into the night clouds. Nothing was there. Only the moon. “Weird…” the boy thought. Certain things like that meant it was time to call it a day. He would rather train, but the feeling felt distressing enough to stop. The boy folded his tessen and strapped it on his back. His palms went into the jacket pocket and he made his way back to the housing district. “I’m done for today. See you tomorrow… team…” the student said with a tone of sarcasm at the end of his sentence. Shisei left the cliffs and disappeared into the night….

Sukotto felt as though he had been standing in the same position for too long. It was obvious that this just wasn't the day to train his squad, so he figured that it would be best to simply call it a day. He had no idea where Senritsu had ran off to, Serena had seemed to space out a bit, and the Orochi appeared to have quite a bit on his mind, judging by his body language. After he waved a farewell to the Orochi, purposely ignoring the sarcastic tone in the youth's voice, the Uchiha spoke to the only remaining member of his squad, Serena. "Looks like it just isn't our day to train today. How about we call it a night and get a fresh start tomorrow? You guys have shown me a lot of promise today. I'm excited to see what will become of this squad." Unfortunately, Sukotto would have to wait to figure that out, as a darkness was approaching Shimagakure, a darkness that even his Sharingan couldn't have seen coming. The Orochi boy had caught wind of it somehow, but hadn't given Sukotto any sort of hint, so the Uchiha would be just as unprepared as the rest of the village. At least on this particular night, he would sleep well enough, and dream of nothing important or horrible enough to remember.

Akiko wondered if she had found the right place. There were a few cliffs surrounding the island, making it difficult to penetrate. But, this particular area did seem a little well-used, and there were some strange marks all along the rock face. From the looks of it, this seemed to be the correct location. She couldn't be positive, though; nobody was here yet. She decided to use this time to start testing out the theory she had. She cleared off a slab of rock near the sand and sat down in the middle of it. It took a few minutes for her mind to stop buzzing with ideas, but after that she became quite relaxed. The first step was to summon all her chakra. She wasn't certain how much it would take, but when she was in that dreamy place before, it felt like her whole spirit was spread out over the land. So, her whole spirit it would be.

[Enter from Ruined Village]
The Uchiha slowly entered one of his most favorite places in all of Shimagakure. This had been the very place where he had first trained under Tategami Shuga in the very first squad that he was part of. Sukotto had been a nervous and determined Genin at that time, and remembered pitting himself against Orochi Seshiro and Jikan Kaori. Such fond memories to him, yet the place had been carved into something quite different after the recent attack on the village. Thankfully, the three J-shaped trees managed to make it through the fight, though they seemed to sag a bit more than usual, almost as if they had experienced the emotion of all of the fallen shinobi of Shimagakure as they failed to defend various parts of the village.
It didn't take long for Sukotto to notice the small figure of Akiko. It appeared as though she was doing some sort of training, either mental, chakra based, or both, but when Sukotto neared her, it was quite obvious that there was an increased level of chakra present in the air. She seemed to be in a state that was similar to the sleep-like state that he had first found her in, but Sukotto guessed that she wasn't sleeping this time, and decided to attempt to give her a bit of help. "Hello again, Akiko-chan. I'm sorry if I'm intruding, but I can't help but feel the chakra in the air. If you can, you should attempt to thin it out a bit so that it isn't so easy for anyone else to notice. It may seem as though you need a large amount for most jutsu, but you really don't if you teach your body how to use it efficiently." Sukotto then grinned and waited for her to respond, whether it be by speaking, or by thinning her chakra to the point where he was able to notice.

Akiko felt a rush of energy flow over her. It seemed to be working. But, it was hard to tell; she didn't know exactly how much she'd need for the technique. She'd definitely get it right with practice, but she had to figure out something for the time being. Perhaps if she experimented with the chakra levels... but then, she realized she couldn't afford to try too many times. This job required a good amount of precision. The man told her that she needed to limit her chakra and spread it out... but at this point of the exercise, she still needed to find out just how much it would take. She placed her fingers together in the seal of the Ram. She used that one a lot during chakra-intensive exercises, so perhaps it would be of use here. Sure enough, the familiar feel of chakra surged through her limbs as it gathered up in her body. She didn't use all of it this time, but it felt like she could probably dedicate that much to the job at hand. Perhaps next time she'd try a little less.

It seemed as though Akiko had quite a good grasp on her training, so Sukotto decided that he'd leave her to it until she was done. If, on the off chance, she began to struggle with it, then he'd step in, but from what he could tell, whe wasn't having any trouble with it whatsoever. The Chuunin wondered why she had been the only one to show up to the cliffs. After all, he had invited at least two others, and had figured that the temporary leader of the village would have told at least a few ninja about the mission. In any case, Sukotto would be happy to at least have one person to accompany him on the mission. Fighting off the beasts of the infected wilderness would prove to be more difficult, but on the up side, Sukotto would be able to focus on training one person a little more clearly than he would if he were training a squad. Each side of the coin had its benefits and burdens, and he'd make due with whatever the odds threw his way.

Akiko tried to scale back again. It was getting tougher, but she was getting the hang of it. She tried not to think so much about how much chakra it would take total--she couldn't estimate that right now. Now, she was going to concentrate on getting exact amounts so she could tailor it later. She reached down within her and tried to summon up that chakra one last time. It came with little resistance, but she had to stem the tide precisely. After a few seconds, she had all she needed, and she closed up the channels. She felt a jolt as the chakra came to a sudden stop... perhaps she overdid it. She'd work on the reaction when she put the rest of the pieces together. What still had to be done? Well, she had to get the chakra spread out, she had to merge her mind with it somehow, and then there was the matter of using it. She sighed... this would take longer than she'd thought.

After considering a few things about the upcoming mission, Sukotto noticed that Akiko seemed to relax a bit. It appeared as though the girl had finished her training session. He wasn't sure if she had just been doing some sort of random chakra exercise, or if the Tenmoki had some sort of larger goal in mind. He decided to see how the training had gone for her, "Satisfied with the results?" As he waited for her response, Sukotto began to wonder what sorts of abilities the girl had. Before the mission began, he'd be sure to test her out just so he knew what she was capable of and so he didn't give her any tasks that she wouldn't have been able to handle. "What kind of training have you been doing? Is this just to increase your understanding of chakra, or is do you have a more significant purpose in mind?" Sukotto asked his second question before Akiko had a chance to answer the first. He didn't want to make it seem like he was badgering the girl, but the Uchiha was quite curious what the girl was up to.

As he waited for Akiko's response, Sukotto began to consider what sorts of test he'd put her through. The Uchiha hoped that it wouldn't end up being just the two of them on the mission, so he wished for more to show up, but he would take whatever help he could get. One of the most obvious things to test would be the girl's abilities when it came to fighting. Since they would be going up against infected creatures, there would be no way that any sort of diplomatic skill would be of use. Sukotto assumed that the Tenmoki didn't have any kinds of jutsu besides what the Academy may have taught her, but that was okay, as he frequently used the basic techniques that had been taught in the school. While Sukotto had never attended the place himself, his Orochi foster father had taught him everything he needed to know about those techniques, which the Uchiha was quite thankful for as they had saved him many times in battle.

Akiko looked up at the man. It seemed he was quite eager to learn about what she was doing. He even interrupted himself! She waited until he seemed to have all the nervous energy out of him before proceeding. "Umm, well, I'm trying to replicate what I was doing back at my house, but I was trying to use chakra instead of... well, whatever that was. That's yet to be determined. I'm not sure if it'll work, but when I did it back there, it felt like my entire being was being poured into it. I guess that's why I thought it would take that much. I can't even be sure what I'm drawing out now is going to be enough. But, I guess I'll figure that out later. Now, I have to figure out how to shape it the right way." With that, Akiko put her hands together and sent her chakra radiating outward from her body. However, it didn't get very far; she had made it too thick, and it just clumped up around her body. She slowly drew it back in and sighed, putting a hand to her forehead.

The Uchiha nodded as the girl explained what she was up to. It seemed as though her chakra had somehow leaked back at the Tenmoki house, and she was attempting to replicate that effect. "Chakra can be quite a difficult thing to master," Sukotto stated, remembering how much trouble Uchiha Senritsu had when attempting chakra-based exercises, "Quite honestly, the first step to mastering one's chakra seems to be the most simple, but can be the most difficult and trickiest to truly understand. I'm not sure if you've been taught it before, but it's vital." Sukotto paused for a moment, remembering all of the training sessions that he had went through in order to strengthen his body's ability to produce and recharge chakra. "This all important step is merely relaxing. Convince your chakra where to go instead of trying to force it to go there. If you can truly understand and get this down, then you'll have no trouble with chakra."
