Skuld folded up the cellphone and put it away and walked over to Sabertooth, "Okay, a woman called on Kaine's line. Something happened, and I need to deliver the gems to a bakery across from the Daily Bugle. Would you please come with me, just in case everything goes south?"

In the deep part of Gotham's underworld, three of the Mafia's meanest men to cross the earth, Smitty, Bozo and Don Razolli were holding their meeting on how to capture, and kill Arell L'amour.
"I say we break his fingers, one at a time and then cut his throat!" Smitty sneered.
"Duh, I don't think so. I say we hit him with a rock." Bozo replied.
"Ya dumb bastahd why would we hit him with a rock?" Smitty asked.
"Would it help if it was a big one?" Bozo asked.
"Boys, let's not be crude . . . we have to find his weakness, then we'll be able to snare him and kill him slowly and painfully." Razolli said with a malicious grin.
"Wait, we could get his girl and really snare up the works!" Smitty said, thinking.
"Such a dastardly deed would take time and research, but Arell would crumple if we did something to destroy a loved one . . . let's do it!" Razolli said with an evil chuckle.

Before he could answer, something started scratching at the bottom of the door in the hallway. A small "mrow" accompanied the scratching.

Slowly Skuld turned around to look for the source of the scratching noise.

The scratching was coming from the entrance door. Something low to the ground was scratching as though it were sharpening it's claws.

The black cat on the other side of the door grinned up at her, his front paws tucked nicely under him. "Thanks. I'd have come in myself but...well never-mind. Just wanted to drop in and check in on how things were going." he said as he stood and jotted through the door and onto the couch.

"Meh." the cat replied dully, circling one particular cushion before carefully lowering himself onto it. "I'd like to say a lot, I really would, but...It's more interesting right here at the moment. There's really not much for me to do that I'm not already doing, so I thought I'd come by and touch base. See if there was anything you needed help with."

The cat grinned a little. "Well, I could come if you need. What better back up than a completely inconspicuous little black cat that just so happens to have the ability to teleport. And drop anvils out of the sky. Or maybe a piano this time...I might be out of anvils."
