Alex nodded back at him, then turned and quickly made her way out of the alley and down the street. The building itself was only a street or two away, so it shouldn't be too far to run to the place where Sapphire should still be. At least where she though she should be. Worse came to worse, she could always get to where the building was, then ask around for where the laundry matt or vidio store was. That should give her a direction rather than just running around for blocks on end trying to find her.

Terry, meanwhile, silently climbed up to the top of a fire escape, crouched down in the shadows, and started fiddling with the JLA communicator, his expression more than a little irritated. If Flash wasn't answering him, WHY wasn't someone else? It was an open comm, wasn't it?

Once Alex reached the large building, she stopped a moment to look around at the streets surrounding the block. Nothing looked familiar yet. She huffed and placed her hands on her hips. Well, plan B it was then. Straightening herself out the best she could, she walked inside the building to find someone she could ask rather quickly. She paused a moment as one man walked past her to leave, then grimaced a bit as the man made a face and held his hand up to his nose. Oh, come on...she aired out some by now. Right? Shaking her head, she turned and headed further inside. There wasn't anyone else in the room except for the secretary, who was tapping away at her computer. As Alex got closer, the woman turned towards her. "Hi, welcome to the Daily..." she said, then trailed off as the stench apparently hit her as well.
Alex sighed. "Yeah, I know. Do you know where I could find a good washer at around here? Obviously I need one."
"No kidding. Out the doors, down the street to your right, about five blocks down. There should be a laundry matt next to a movie rental store." the woman said as she pointed towards the door.
Alex did her best attempt at a smile. "Thank you, kindly." she said cheerfully as she turned and made her way out the door. Once out, she let her smile fade and turned towards where the woman had guided her to. She bent down a bit, then sped off down the street. She wanted to get this whole mess done and over with.

Terry almost dropped the stupid thing, he was so surprised. Then he looked at the message. Why hadn't they sent a voice... Oh. ... Wait, who the hell was Oracle? ... Maybe one of the heroes from Sapphire's universe, or something. In any case, he didn't have any choice. It was off to save a little girl he didn't like from a clown who was probably capable of killing him in his present condition. Yay. "Sorry, Alex," he murmured under his breath as he jumped down onto the motorcycle, revved it up, and zipped off toward the indicated museum.

After a short time, Alex finally reached the area the woman had told her about. Sure enough, there was the Laundromat. The bigger plus was that the street around her looked familiar. Pausing very briefly to catch her breath, she walked down the street to where Sapphire and the others were supposed to be. And she found nothing. Super. Suppressing the urge to sigh, she turned and decided to just ask around. A man in a bright red costume and an unconscious woman wouldn't be something anyone would forget seeing. Walking back to the Laundromat, she spotted a group of costumers leaving, and apparently complaining about something. She watched them a moment, then decided to start there first. If they needed something, she could help. If they were complaining about a Super, that was a good start.
Walking into the building, she immediately met with a 'Wet Floor' sign placed where no one would be able to miss it. In the corner of the room, a small group of people were busy with mops and buckets. One of the women that was helping clean up the wet mess turned around and spotted her in the doorway. The robot version of Sapphire. Both women looked like they wanted to groan and simply stood there staring at each other a moment. ....Well....that didn't take very long. Drawing a small breath, Alex grinned politely and made her way towards her. "Have an accident?"
"She's in the back." Steel said, not wanting to make small talk, or explain what had happened. She still wasn't sure herself. "Thought you were bringing someone else to come get her."
"I was. I did. He's waiting. I just want to check on Sa- erm, her and I'll go get him to help me." Alex replied, then paused a moment. "Where's our mutual friend, by the way. He didn't answer when we called him."
Steel's glare faded into a more surprised expression. "He...went to check on things. You mean he didn't answer when you called him?"
Alex hesitated a moment. "Um, no, he didn't. I'm sure he's alright though. With everything going on, he might have gotten pulled into something." she replied, a little surprised to see the robots instant change in mood. Without saying anything else, she quickly retreated into the back to check on Sapphire. That's what she was here to do. Then she had to go back and find Batman and bring him here if she still couldn't move.
Once she made it to the back room, she found Sapphire lying down across one of the tables that had been cleaned off as a quick makeshift bed. Still out cold apparently. Alex frowned as she actually got a good look at her this time. Her costume was officially no good, the entire stomach of it had been shredded, and there were far too many holes in the rest of it to be sewn up. Plus, what was left of the costume was discolored thanks to all the blood she lost. Her face was bruised, and the majority of her neck was very noticeably discolored as well. Her stomach was healed, but it still certainly looked like it had been ripped open. The door suddenly squeaked open behind her, causing her to jump and spin around on her heels.
Steel stood in the doorway, looking a tad nervous. "Is she alright?"
Alex relaxed a little and turned back around to face Sapphire. "Won't know until she wakes up." she replied. She hesitated a moment again, then turned and looked at Steel. "Since she doesn't look any worse than when I left her, I'm going to leave her with you for a few more minutes. I'm going to go get my other friend and come back."
Steel nodded, and moved out of Alex's way so that she could pass. There was still a rather obvious aura of tension as the two passed by each other, but...not nearly as strong as it was before. They both had something more important to worry about at the moment. Steel turned and watched as Alex disappeared out the door, then turned her attention back towards her counterpart. She stood there a moment, then hesitantly made her way back into the room, making sure the door closed behind her.

Steel patiently sat and waited for someone to return so that they could take care of the injured woman in the room with her. She was more eager for Flash to return than she was for someone else to come back though. He could have gotten himself tied up with something urgent, and he said he’d be back, so she didn’t have anything to worry about, right? He was amazingly fast, and he was good with his abilities. She’d seen it back at Murder World. So, he was fine. Nothing to worry about. But…she couldn’t help but wonder what was taking him so long. She just…something didn’t seem right about this. And she had no idea why.
Just then the door to the room opened and Steel’s attention shot towards it. Rather than seeing a man in a red costume, she found a rather exhausted and frustrated looking woman with short brown hair standing in the doorway. Well, clinging to the side of it to support herself from toppling over was more like it. Alex had apparently ran quite a distance…and came back alone. Steel didn’t know whether to feel disappointed or angry that ALEX returned instead of Flash. She worried long enough about Flash. She opted for being angry. ”I thought you were bringing someone?” she said, trying to sound polite.
It didn’t sound polite. At all. Alex panted, and glared up at the robot for the tone she just used on her. ”I…*pant*…was.” she growled back. Sounded more like she was in pain though. ”I…*pant*…just ran all the way down…*pant*…to the other end of the city and back. *gasp* My friend apparently had to go do…*pant*…hero work.”
”….they ditched you. What a surprise.” Steel said with obvious annoyance in her voice. To add onto it, she leaned back and crossed her arms as if she were annoyed.
Alex growled and straightened her stance instantly. ”He’s a superhero. He didn’t ditch me, he had to go do what he needed to. Important things. Nothing I’d expect you to understand.” she snapped. Honestly, that was her initial reaction when she found that he was completely gone. He ditched her. Just like any other guy she’d ever known. Except for superheroes. They had a perfectly good reason for just leaving someone like that. So she’d just repeated to Steel what she had been telling herself the entire way back. He didn’t drop her off somewhere far away and just leave her there on purpose….something came up. This was superhero business, not personal. It had nothing to do with her or her temper and attitude that seemed to turn people away from her. Just work.
Steel narrowed her eyes at her. ”I understood the part about him having something more important to get do other than stick around with you.“ she growled back “And for your information, I’m TRYING to be good now. In case you haven’t noticed, I HAVEN’T tried to rip you up. I HAVEN’T been hanging out at Murder World, which YOU left me at under a pile of building. I’ve been with FLASH trying to learn things and HELP. You know, like watching your friend here while you LEFT to go do whatever.”
Alex’s scowl grew and she stomped her way into the room and up to Steel. Directly in her fact to be more exact. She was already frustrated, now this thing was putting her into an easy rage and there was no one around to play referee. ”What is your PROBLEM?! I LEFT because I NEEDED TO! Sapphire wasn’t the ONLY one in TROUBLE! If she was safe for the moment, then I needed to go help those that WEREN’T! My leaving to do WHATEVER consisted of RUNNING ALL OVER CREATION, fighting some hex casting NUTJOB, getting STABBED IN THE BACK, and trying to deal with not giving away SECRET IDENTITIES to people that could easily get me ARRESTED! My leaving to do WHATEVER, consisted of a LOT MORE than your SITTING ON YOUR SHINY METAL A-”
”I’VE been sitting here watching over YOUR FRIEND to make sure nothing HAPPENED TO HER!” Steel spat, jumping up from her seat and getting right into Alex’s face as well. ”If making sure she didn‘t DIE was such a completely unimportant job, then maybe I should have LEFT. Then someone could have come back here and found her and sent her SOMEWHERE ELSE! Somewhere that NO ONE would have known about, and would take them HOURS to find her again. Or better yet, how about one of those other VILLIANS come looking for her and find her completely HELPLESS and ALONE?! Or her health just suddenly goes downhill for whatever reason. And NO ONE would have been here to do anything to HELP her! You know what, you‘re right. Completely stupid reasons to be sitting here watching her the entire time. I‘ve just been SITTING HERE ON MY a** for NO REASON whatsoever. Complete waste of my time!”
Fire started crackling and crawling it’s way up the back of Alex’s jacket and pants. She was very, very close to just ripping into the thing again. ”YOU‘RE the one that started on ME the moment I walked in the door! But yeah, fine. You wanna thank you? THANK YOU! WARP sped up her healing and she‘s DOING FINE! She‘s pulled through a LOT WORSE than this!” she snarled. The last part was a bit of a lie, but Steel didn’t need to know that. Last time she was in a condition like this, she either had been dead, or was in serious risk of being dead. But still, if she was self healing, then she should be fine.
”WELL I‘m not looking after her for YOU! I‘m doing it because SHE NEEDS someone to, even if she is FINE, as you put it. AND because WARP and FLASH ASKED ME TO!” Oh, she wanted to punch her. She really, really wanted to lay into her.
”Oh, that’s right. You wanna talk about ME being ditched, where exactly is YOUR FRIEND?! STILL not back yet? How do you know he didn‘t just get TIRED of looking after Y--*….” Her words were suddenly cut off with a large sheet of blue webbing that wrapped itself around her mouth. Alex shouted something muffled, most likely something vulgar at this point, and ripped it off her face with a burning hand. She drew that same hand back into a fist and aimed it at Steel, then stopped when she realized that the robot in front of her couldn’t make blue webbing. She looked at what was left of the webbing in her hand, then back at Steel. She was looking curiously at the webbing as well. Both girls looked at each other, then turned towards the table Sapphire had been lying on.
She was awake…and she was on her feet. She was leaning heavily onto the table for support, but she was on her feet. One hand clasped tightly on her forehead, and starring rather angrily at Alex. She took a moment, gathering the energy to talk it seemed, then addressed the girl. ”Alex…” she began rather shakily and quietly. Pain was rather noticeable in her voice. ”I…am having a rather serious migraine at the moment. I can hear my heartbeat in my head…I can feel my heartbeat in my head…and I seriously think my skull is going to split in half at any minute if it hasn’t already. Please….please….take it about seven blocks away from here. Alright?”

Alex stared at Sapphire for a long moment. She didn’t look like she was in any condition to be on her feet yet. At all. She was a little amazed that she’d gotten onto her feet so quietly. Steel stared as well, though she was staring more because she wasn’t sure of what to do. Sapphire stared back at them, then took one step forward. She lost her balance the moment her foot hit the ground and crumpled onto the table beside her. Alex rushed from her spot and stood beside Sapphire, trying to help her up.
”Come on…you shouldn’t be up yet.” Alex said quietly.
”Where…where am I?” Sapphire asked shakily, trying to get up.
”At a…a Laundromat.” Alex replied.
”I…I need a restroom.” Sapphire said after a moment.
”Alright, come on.” Alex said, wrapping one arm around her friend’s waist and put Sapphire’s hand around her neck.
”Is there anything I can do” Steel asked, staring nervously at the two.
Alex stared at her a moment. ”Yeah, come help me walk her out.” Alex replied.
Steel nodded and quickly moved to the other side of Sapphire, mirroring how Alex was supporting Sapphire. They helped get Sapphire onto her feet and slowly led her to the door, letting Sapphire walk at her own pace. Once at the door, they checked to make sure that no one was around. Then, they slowly led her down the hallway to the rest room. What should have been a few minutes became a good ten minutes to get her down to the door. Sapphire let go of them and gripped the door, shutting herself inside. Before either girl could say or do anything, they heard the click of the door locking. A moment later, they heard a rather loud vomit echo from the room. Both Alex and Steel took a quick glance at each other, then looked back at the door.
”Sapphire?” Alex said nervously.
”I’m fine….”
Alex paused a moment. ”Are you sure?”
Another vomit. ”I’m just…..guh…..sick.” Sapphire replied. She kept herself curled over the toilet, and waited a few good long moments for her stomach to settle. Her stomach hurt. Her head hurt. Her legs hurt. Everything hurt. She’d been out for at least a while, and she remembered seeing Warp before she woke up, so she knew the worst injuries she had were healed. But she still shouldn’t be up. Just the feel of everything she shouldn’t be up. She was sore, bruised, felt like quite a few things were broken, her stomach was churning, and her head was killing her. When she was sure nothing else was going to come up, she leaned back away from the toilet and opened her eyes. A grimace curled around her face when she seen how much blood was in the water in front of her. Yep….shouldn’t be up and about at all. Riku had practically gut her open, and if she hadn’t been concentrating on healing it….ugh. She seen Warp though. And it felt like it was all healed up. So, this was just….internal injuries healing up? She strained herself by standing and walking? Or…did Riku’s little attack just kill… She leaned back a bit more and glanced down at herself. The dress she had tried on before Riku attacked her was destroyed. Blue shredded material hung around her, and that was about it. What was left of her costume was covering her and that was about it. The blue of it was stained with blood, and the visible skin was bloodied, scarred and bruised. She took a look down at her stomach and at the long vertical scar running down it. It looked horrendous. It looked….it looked…. She stared a moment, and her grimmace grew. It looked swollen. Surely that was because it was healing, right? She had Warp set her pregnancy back as far as he could. But if he was helping her stomach heal, then he could have just bumped her back up. With something this bad…he would’ve had to speed up her healing by…two or three months at least. Oh, g…it was the babies, wasn’t it? The blood wasn’t from her healing, it was from them. It had to be.
”Alex…” she said as she painfully pulled herself off the floor.
”Yes?”
”Can you grab me some decent clothes?” she said as she slowly walked from the stall and towards the sink.
”Sure…I’ll be right back.” Alex replied. ”The…um…Stella? Stella will be here if you need her.”
Sapphire didn’t answer back. She bent over the sink, turned the water on, and splashed her face with cool water. She paused a moment, then went about cleaning some of the blood off of her. She’d no sooner finished when she felt another upset on it’s way. She bent down over the seat, and as much as she hated throwing up, willingly let it out. It was blood again. She stood bent there a few long moments, then slowly stood back up. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was a mess…there were patches of dried blood in it as well. Her face was scraped, bruised, bloody and swollen. But it was nothing compared to her neck. It was swollen and completely black and blue. There were finger impressions visible as well. If this is what it looked like healed…she could only imagine how bad she would have been if Warp hadn’t helped her.
Riku nearly killed her. Someone else with a Blood, possibly Riku’s the way he was talking, nearly killed her. What was next? Gossamer came for a visit while she was healing? Savage comes for the children she wasn’t sure she had now. Blackstone? And where was she going to go now? No clothes, costume, home.
Another upset. More blood.
Sapphire kept herself bent over the sink once it passed. Tears streaming down her face.

Steel had moved away from the restroom for a moment to get a bit of air...or, at least that's how the saying went, right? She was robotic, she didn't need air. But...this whole thing was confusing...upsetting...and she didn't much know what to do.

Steel didn't have time to move when the young girl came bounding through the room and up to her. And, she really didn't have to. The girl wasn't strong, so when she went of a tackle, all she did was hit Steel's metal body. Steel stared down at the girl and blinked. "What....what are you doing?"
