Anna blinked at the question directed at her and thought of how to make the simplest signs; she didn't know how well Nathan could read sign language and therefore wanted to make it as easy as possible.
Anna signed Bad voice. for Nathan and waited for his response.

((Damn, I hate starting school stressed . Sorry I've been inactive for a while, but now I have access to a computer during my lunch break as well as a little bit after school so i should be able to post. Oh, and I thought I was supposed to wait until after Joe PMed me with training ideas... So I would really like to know exactly what Bitong is supposed to be doing right now sweatdrop ))

Nathan cocked an eyebrow. "Bad voice? Any particular reason?" he asked, a little slowly, gauging her reaction. He didn't want to bring up anything painful. Geeky? Yes. Inconsiderate, stupid, any of that? Not at all.

Anatoly nodded absently at the door long after Stark had left, still lost in thought. In ten minutes he headed towards the training room, focusing himself on the task at hand. Never show weakness.

As he entered the room, he found a large ball of fire flying at his head.

Glad he had been focusing himself, Anatoly dropped into a left roll to avoid the fireball and began scanning for more attacks.

Stark stood, hand smoking, in the center of the room. "Good reflex," he said. "But perhaps that's not always a good thing. You didn't scan the environment before you reacted. Admittedly, getting out of the way of instant death is important, but if I had been aiming to simply capture you, it would have been done. And that can be worse."
He pointed up. Anatoly glanced briefly upward to see a suspended cage, with the bottom cut out, hanging above where he had rolled.
"Now. What can you tell me about combat?"

Anatoly's gaze lingered on the cage, as well as cages over, directly in front of, and directly to the right of the door. He began by wryly declaring, "Knowledge of the environment is essential." More thoughtfully, he added, "As well as knowledge of one's opponents and one's own self, and the capabilities of both." He paused. "And allies, if there are any, or the possibility of some showing up."
He drew himself up from the floor. "It's as important to keep a level head as it is to focus your emotional strength into your physical strikes. The best fighters are those who have trained it to be a reflex to their minds. Unless you are attempting to eliminate your opponents entirely..." he paused, shoving the image of the men he'd killed from his mind. "It's best to make a show of force that takes away the will of any allies to even try fighting."

Stark nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. I was right about you; you seem to have a good knowledge of fighting. What is your background in combat?"
Less than a second after Anatoly began explaining, Stark's hand whipped up and fired three fireballs right at him, to his left, and slightly farther out to the right.

Anatoly slid back and right and took cover behind the door frame.
"Cover is important when there are ranged attacks!" he called through the door. "I did mixed martial arts in college and learned quite a bit from the students at inner-city schools."

"Very god," Stark said, advancing to the door. He leaned easily on the frame and looked at the tense Anatoly.
"Come on in. I want to teach you how to use Skulltap." He turned and went back in.

Anatoly followed him in, very wary of any more surprise fireballs or other attacks.

"It causes up to ten seconds of abject, unconquerable terror after I activate it and look someone I want it to affect in the eye. It recharges in..." he paused. "Three seconds for every second of power it stores. You haven't explained it."
