i think i'm going to be eighteen in 2o14. but i'll be sixteen in a year and a half! i don't get the big deal about the whole "sweet sixteen" nonsense, though. the only "sweet" part about it is that you're able to get your liscense, and even so, in some states they want to change the age and sometimes parents don't let their kids drive anyway.
i mean, age is just a number, but... i don't know. age has a purpose, but sometimes i think people put too much value and judgement on it when they shouldn't necessarily do so. but i don't know. burning_eyes

You think the sweet 16 is bad, you should see how all the mexican hos go all out for their quinces. it's like a mini-wedding.
yeah they're passing laws like mad! i heard now even 18-20 year olds or something have to take classes before they test with DPS!
good thing i just got my license, cuz the state trooper would've failed me for sure!!! >>;;

Princess Volupine Only Christ I Follow It's interesting how everyone thinks so highly of their eighteenth birthday. Like, when I turned eighteen, everyone was all "Wao, do you feel different!?" No. No I don't. I am one day older than I was yesterday. Um . . . yay? I don't think the feeling is bount to change any time soon with some other epic "age gap." when did i say i thought highly of it? its something i can't wait for, but i won't know all the answers to everything on that day, obviously. and i think being able to vote and/or get a tattoo is pretty wicked. cant you also gamble and get plastered in england? I'm pretty sure you can get drunk legally once you hit 18, but isn't gambling illegal in Great Britain?

i'm super proud of myself, because i had an essay to write over the weekend, and i finished it a few hours ago instead of waiting until late tonight and it's actually a pretty good essay. blaugh yay for finally not being lazy for once~
but i must say... this essay we had to write had to be about how this one chick in this book was a dynamic character. for such a lame topic, i made it sound pretty cool. cool
i don't really care about the whole tattoo/gambling/voting/smoking thing when you hit eighteen. like, i just don't really care one way or the other because none of that is involved in my life plans. not that i really have a 'plan' 'cause i'm not sure where i'm going with this whole 'life' thing.

 Thats ok, it happens to everyone once in a while.
But a friendly reminder can never hurt, right? I mean, unless it's overdone, or course.
I should be getting dressed, but instead I'm sitting here in tights and my boy friend's sweatshirt on gaia :l
lame. I should put some clothes on. Always, I wanna be with you, And make believe with you, And live in harmony harmony oh love

Variola Major Only Christ I Follow @ Major: Orly? Most interesting! =D Do you have specific statistics for different tribes? Because, statistically, Native Americans own casinos. Cept Navajos don't own casinos because they're awesome like that. =o Also, is the statistic based off of the fact that 99.9999% of everybody has some Cherokee Indian in them. So, it could be going "Oh, everybody has Cherokee, sooo Cherokees must LOVE the military! =D Hurry, Bob, put that on the statistic list!" XDD! No, I don't have specific statistics for different tribes, but the book I got this info from points out that .1% of all Americans belong to a Native American tribe, but a full 1% of all US military personal do. I also read a statistic online saying that about 10% of all Native Americans have military service ( http://www.defense.gov/specials/nativeamerican01/warrior.html). 10% is a really high number when it comes to military service. No other ethnic group in this nation has a percentage of veterans that high. It could have something to do with the abject poverty on reservations. The tribes with casinos are generally wealthy, but most tribes don't have a casino. Indian Gambling isn't as widespread as many think. Reservations are hotbeds of poverty and alcoholism (Seriously. Native Americans have a death rate from alcohol related causes four times the national average.). The military could well provide an escape. OIC, indeed! Yupyup, my buddy JR lives on a raservation just like the one you described. They have to go to massive lengths to get watter, and they usually don't have a vehicle because his dad is an alcoholic and wreaks them all. Despite that, he still goes to college and works to help others in poverty, so I find him quite inspiring at times. Other times he can be really annoying (on purpose).

LOLOL! I mean everyone is just all "Oh, I can't wait 'til my eighteenth birthday!" I suppose it is pretty legit, because I can sign papers without an extra sig, I got to vote for McCain, and I'm allowed to see or buy any rated movie.

No disprespect to anyone, but most sixteen-year-olds I meet are punks who think they're the smartest person in the world and I'm the stupidest person in the world, even though they can't back up their beliefs or opinions with any sort of proof other than "I think it, so it's fact." ^^' So, I don't really think highly of many teens, but some are super special awesome and are actually really bright people who don't try to boadcast how bright they are. Anyways, I was quite dense when I was sixteen, so i'm not saying I'm any sort of exception. Also, my sixteen was actually the worst year of my life, just so you know. Sixteen or seventeen. Hang in there, man! =D Also, I'm about to be late for class, so see yous!

Yay for getting essay done! I lurve that feeling that comes with finishing an essay well. LOL because you put voting with smoking, gambling, and getting a tattoo XDD! That's okay, nobody knows where they're going. =D I still barely know what I'm doing. I'm almost a Junior, and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do after I graduate. I could get a job right away or go to grad school to get an MFA, so at least there aren't a million choices.
